Day 1: Kiev

As guests arrive in Kiev, they will transfer to the hotel. Once everyone has arrived, there will be a welcome meeting.

Day 2: Kiev

Kiev is one of the oldest cities in Europe, the cradle of Slavic civilization and Orthodox Christianity. In the morning, we will go on a sightseeing tour of the history city, visiting St. Vladimir's Cathedral, Golden Gates, St. Sophia Cathedral, St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, Independence Square, the Opera House and St. Andrew's Cathedral. In the afternoon, we will be able to take an optional excursion to the world famous Cave Monastery. In the evening, we can enjoy a delicious dinner with lfolklore music at Restaurant Opanas.

Day 3: Kiev

In the morning, we can take an optional excursion to the Pirogovo Ethnographic Open Air Museum, where we will feel as though we have gone back in time to the 19th century. In the afternoon, we will have the option of visiting St. Sophia's Cathedral and the National History Museum.

    Pyrohiv

    Pyrohiv was once a small village outside Kiev but now is home to an open-air museum dedicated to folk art and daily life in Ukrainian history. There are over 300 rustic wooden structures on the grounds.

    St. Sophia's Cathedral

    This Russian Orthodox cathedral in Kiev is a famous example of the domed Byzantine architecture that dominates these kinds of churches. Built and rebuilt many times over its history, the monument is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    National Museum of the History of Ukraine

    Originally, this museum wa spread out among several buildings in Kiev upon its founding in 1899, but has since been consolidated to one location, where visitors can learn all about the rich history of Ukraine dating back to ancient times.

Day 4: Kiev - Lviv (534 km)

In the early morning, we will be able to take an optional visit to the Chernobyl Museum. In the afternoon, we will take a high-speed train to Lviv, where we will check into our hotel after arriving in the evening.

Day 5: Lviv

Lviv has an enthralling history and old world charm. In the morning, we will go on a sightseeing tour of the Old Town, seeing sights like Market Square, City House, the Black Stone Building, Opera Square, Kornyakt Palace, the Medieval Pharmacy Museum, the Armenia Cathedral, the Dominican Cathedral, the Bernardine Cathedral and beautiful Boim Chapel. In the afternoon, we can take an optional Lviv Beer Tour, during which we will learn how craft beer is brewed and get to sample some beers.

    Old Town

    The historic district of Lviv is home to fascinating medieval architecture. It's a great place to learn about the history of Ukraine and see some of its most notable landmarks.

    Market Square

    This market square was added to the city of Lviv in the 14th century. It was one of the city's busiest, most important areas for centuries both a a marketplace and as the location of the city's town hall.

    Black House

    This famous building in Lviv's historic Market Square gets its name from its sandstone facade, which has darkened to a black hue over the years. Built during the Renaissance, it eventually housed one of the city's first pharmacies.

    Korniakt Palace

    Located in Lviv's historic Market Square, this townhouse was built at the end of the 16th century for a famous local merchant. Now, it is part of the Lviv History Museum.

    Pharmacy Museum

    This museum is located in a former drugstore in Lviv's Market Square. The museum features exhibits that detail antique pharmaceutical practices, appliances, medicines, books and more, including an old alchemy lab.

    Armenian Cathedral

    This cathedral in Lviv's Old Town started as a much smaller church in the 14th century, though it has grown over the years after numerous renovations. The interior of the cathedral is renowned for its exceptional beauty and decorations.

    Bernardine Church

    Located south of Market Square in Lviv's Old Town, this church and its adjacent monastery date back to the 15th century, though the interior was refurbished in an updated Baroque style in the mid-18th century.

    Dominican Church

    This Greek Catholic church in Lviv's Old Town was designed in the Baroque style, though this is not the first church in this location, which has been occupied since the 13th century.

    Boim Chapel

    Built at the beginning of the 17th century in Lviv's Cathedral Square, this religious monument is named for the Boim family, many of whose members are buried here.

    Beer Tour

    This is a fun way to learn about the types of local beer that are brewed in Lviv and the processes by which they are made. It's perfect for beer lovers!

Day 6: Lviv

Today, we can take an option tour that visits the Olesko Castle, which dates back to the 13th century, when Polish kings like Jan Sobieski ruled the area. The castle features a magnificent collection of old furniture and paintings, a nice park and a museum with beautiful pieces of jewelry, as well as smaller palaces like Zolochiv Palace, Grand Palace and the Chinese Palace. In the evening, we will enjoy an optional Carpathian dinner at Restaurant Trout, Bread and Wine with its highlight dish-Carpathian trout.
