Day 1: Mexico City

Today we will meet the group and tour guide at our hotel in Mexico City in the evening. Then we will make a welcome meeting, optional welcome & get-together with the group in one of local restaurants or bars.

Day 2: Mexico City

Today we will go for a walking tour around the historic center in the morning including Metropolitan Cathedral, Zocalo, National Palace and Museum of Anthropology, then we could decide what to do next in this culturally diverse city. Optional dinner & get-together with the group in the evening.

Day 3: Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Puebla (139 km)

In the morning we will go to Teotihuacan, which is the site of the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. In the afternoon, we will move to Puebla to take a walking tour. After that we could enjoy optional dinner & get-together with the group in the evening.

Day 4: Puebla - Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve - Oaxaca (270 km)

After breakfast we will go to Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve for an exploration by car and walking. In the afternoon we will move to Oaxaca City for a walking. Optional dinner & get-together with the group in the evening.

Day 5: Oaxaca - Monte Alban - Hierve el Agua (57 km)

After breakfast we will go to Monte Alban. After exploring Monte Alban, we will go on to Hierve el Agua, the location of 5-star Instagram photos. Then we will leave for the Valle de Tlacolula when the sun starts to dip. After that we will spend night in nearby hotel/guesthouse, enjoy an optional dinner & get-together with the group.

Day 7: Salina Cruz - Chiapa de Corzo (241 km)

Today we will enjoy the sea and sun in the morning before going to Chiapa de Corzo. In January, we can enjoy the Fiesta Grande celebration. In the evening we will enjoy an orientation walk in a historic center, optional dinner & get-together with the group.

Day 8: Chiapa de Corzo - Canyon Sumidero - San Juan de Chamula - San Cristobal de las Casas (95 km)

In the morning, we will visit breathtaking observation points and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring Sumidero Canyon on a boat trip to enjoy the sight of impressive waterfalls, enter mystical caves and see the cliff. In the afternoon we will move for an orientation walk and enjoy a lunch at San Juan de Chamula. In the evening, we will arrive at San Cristobal de las Casas for the accommodation, orientation walk, optional dinner & get-together with the group.

Day 10: Palenque - Miguel Colorado Cenotes - Campeche (359 km)

In the morning we will go to explore Palenque. Afterwards we will continue to Miguel Colorado Cenotes where we will have a lunch, kayaking, swimming, zip-lining over one of the cenotes. We can also hike along hilly, rocky trails to each cenote, keeping an eye out for spider and howler monkeys. In the evening we will enjoy optional dinner & get-together in Campeche.

This is a gift of great beauty where we can observe the spectacular colony of pink flamingos together with a wide variety of bird species in their natural habitat. We will enjoy a flamingos-watching boat tour and visit a local cenote. In the evening we will enjoy optional dinner and overnight in nearby Celestun.

In the morning we will go to explore Chichen Itza. In the afternoon we will continue to visit the Ik Kil Cenote. In order to reach the water, we need to climb down 26 meters. In the evening we will take an orientation walk, enjoy optional dinner, get-together with the group and overnight in Valladolid.

Day 13: Valladolid - Tulum - Playa del Carmen (155 km)

In the morning, we will go to explore Tulum. We will learn the history behind this location as we will walk through different areas of the site. We can also walk down to the amazing beach and enjoy the white sand , see wild iguanas and beautiful tropical foliage throughout the site. In the afternoon, we will arrive in Playa del Carmen that offers the quietest beach. In Playa del Carmen we will also find water activities such as windsurfing, jet skis, kayaking or diving in the impressive Mayan coral reef. After that, we will go for an orientation walk, enjoy optional dinner & get-together with the group.

  • You will receive a confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is processed. Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Less than 15 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount
    Day of departure - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    Cancellation penalties of all extra services booked with us (airport transfers, pre and post night accommodations, single room surcharge and additional activities):
    31 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30 days or less prior to departure - 100% of the price of extra services.
    NOTE: There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties. We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
