Day 1: Mexico City

Today we will meet the group and tour guide at our hotel in Mexico City in the evening. Then we will make a welcome meeting, optional welcome & get-together with the group in one of local restaurants or bars.

Day 2: Mexico City

Today we will join for a walking tour around the historic center in the morning, then choose by ourselves what to do next. We will enjoy optional dinner & get-together with the group in the evening.

Day 3: Mexico City - Tula - Grutas de Tolantongo (72 km)

In the morning we will go to visit the archaeological zone of Tula known for its fearsome 4.5m-high stone warrior figures. Then we will continue to enjoy hot springs and picturesque mountainous landscapes of Grutas de Tolantongo. Tonight we will enjoy optional dinner, get-together with the rest of the group and spend night in Grutas de Tolantongo.

Day 4: Grutas de Tolantongo - Zimapan

After breakfast and morning bath in thermal waters of Grutas de Tolantongo, we will then go to Zimapan Dam. Upon arrival, we will have an optional lunch and try delicious local grilled fish. After that, we will take an optional boat tour to watch its shining stone walls that run more than 650 feet high. Then we will continue to Zimapan for accommodation, walking tour around the historic center, optional dinner & get-together with the rest of the group.

Day 5: Zimapan - Los Marmoles National Park - Xilitla (84 km)

After breakfast, we will head to Los Marmoles National Park that we will explore on foot and by car. Then we will head to Xilitla for accommodation, walking tour, optional dinner & get-together with the rest of the group.

Day 6: Xilitla - Las Pozas - Sotano de las Golondrinas - Sotano De Las Huahuas (26 km)

After breakfast, we will head to Las Pozas. Then we will go to visit nearby Sotano de las Golondrinas ("Cave of Swallows") and Sotano De Las Huahuas ("Basement of Las Huahuas"). Tonight we will enjoy dinner and then overnight near the Cave of Swallows.

Day 7: Sotano de las Golondrinas - Puente de Dios - Ciudad Valles (104 km)

Today we will visit three wonderful waterfalls including Tamul, Micos, Tamasopo as well as Puente de Dios which is a majestic pool of clear blue water. Then we will head to Ciudad Valles for accommodation, walking tour around the historic center, optional dinner & get-together with the rest of the group.

After breakfast, we will head to Tampico. Then we will go to our hotel for the accommodation, take a walking tour around the historic center, enjoy optional dinner and get-together with the rest of the group.

Day 10: Tuxpan - El Tajin - Papantla (63 km)

After a morning swimming and breakfast in Tuxpan, we will go to El Tajin. On the way we will stop to see a giant Statue of Cristo Redentor and enjoy imrpessive views that arise from the hill. Then we will continue to Papantla for a walking tour. Overngiht in Papantla.

Today we will take walking tours at following two beautiful towns:
  • Xicotepec: a village that retains a unique combination of the communion of the pre-Hispanic and colonial times. We can also try its famous coffee.
  • Pahuatlan: situated in the middle of Puebla mountains among numerous plantation of pahuas and coffee, this place can only be reached by crossing valleys and canyons.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Less than 15 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount
    Day of departure - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    Cancellation penalties of all extra services booked with us (airport transfers, pre and post night accommodations, single room surcharge and additional activities):
    31 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30 days or less prior to departure - 100% of the price of extra services.
    NOTE: There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties. We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
