Day 1: Madison - Wisconsin Dells - Wausau (155 miles)

Today, we will travel to Madison, the capital of Wisconsin. We will visit the incredible House on the Rock, Alex Jordan's awe-inspiring man-made retreat. Wisconsin Dells has the largest water park in the country. In Wausau, we will visit a local ginseng farm.

    Madison is the capital of Wisconsin. It consistently ranks among the best places to live in the US. It is the home of the main campus of the University of Wisconsin.

    House on the Rock

    The House on the Rock is a tourist attraction located between the cities of Dodgeville and Spring Green, Wisconsin. Opened in 1959, it is a complex of architecturally distinct rooms, streets, gardens, and shops designed by Alex Jordan, Jr.

  • Wausau, WI

    Wausau, located in central Wisconsin, is a center for the cultivation of American ginseng production and home to 37 city parks, including Whitewater Park: a class I-II+ rapid along the Wisconsin River. Interestingly, Hmong Americans are the largest ethnic minority in Wausau.

    Wausau is birth place of ginseng, only 10% ginseng from wausau in herbs market that we can say it's really rare.

Day 2: Lake Superior - Sault Ste Marie (378 miles)

Today, we will drive to Lake Superior, where we will take a boat to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Tahquamenon Falls is the second largest waterfall in the eastern half of the US, behind only Niagara Falls. The Soo Locks are one of the great engineering wonders of the world and an important waterway traffic system. In the evening, we will arrive in Sault Ste. Marie, situated on the border between the US and Canada.

    The largest of the 5 Great Lakes, Lake Superior straddles the border between the U.S. and Canada. It is renowned for its beautiful stretches of shoreline.

    This stretch of shoreline on the coast of Lake Superior in Michigan is known for its exquisite beauty and bountiful forest, full of oceanview trails.

    Tahquamenon Falls State Park

    This state park on the Upper Arm of Michigan covers a total area of 46,179 acres. It is named for the waterfalls located within the park which pass an immense volume of water.

  • Sault Ste. Marie, MI

    Sault Ste. Marie is a city in, and the county seat of, Chippewa County in the U.S. state of Michigan.It is situated on the northeastern end of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, on the Canada–US border, and separated from its twin city of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, by the St. Marys River.

    Soo Locks

    The Soo Locks are a set of parallel locks which enable ships to travel between Lake Superior and the lower Great Lakes. They are located on the St. Marys River between Lake Superior and Lake Huron, between the Upper Peninsula of the US state of Michigan and the Canadian province of Ontario.

Day 3: Sault Ste Marie - Mackinac Island - Traverse City (141 miles)

Today, we will take the ferry to Mackinac Island, one of the world's most popular island resorts. Afterward, we will take the ferry to St. Ignace in the afternoon. Then, we will visit Traverse City to attend a wine tasting.

    Mackinac Island

    Mackinack Island, just off Michigan's shoreline, is only accessible by ferry or plane. A unique local law prohibits the use of motor vehicles, so be ready to either walk, bike, or horseback ride. Regular musical acts spice up the nightlife.

Day 4: Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park - Holland Village (189 miles)

Today, we will go to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park , which features miles of sandy beaches, lush forests and more to make up a beautiful locale. Later on, we will travel to the Dutch Village in Holland, MI, passing the largest windmill in the US on our way.

    It was named the "Most Beautiful Place in America" on ABC's Good Morning America. Miles of sand beach, lush forests, clear inland lake, unique flora and fauna make up the beautiful natural world.
  • Holland, MI

    Holland is a city in the western region of the Lower Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is situated near the eastern shore of Lake Michigan on Lake Macatawa.

    Dutch Village

    The Dutch Village in historic Holland, MI is a living museum that pays tribute to the people who settled this quaint town. From wooden shoe factories to cheese-making, guests will think they've stepped into 18th-century Holland!

Day 5: Milwaukee - Lake Geneva - Chicago (119 miles)

Today, we will drive to Milwaukee, traveling along the coast of Lake Michigan. When we arrive, we will visit the Miller Brewery and the Harley Davidson Museum. At the largest cheese market in Wisconsin, we can sample a unique collection of cheeses. Afterwards, we will travel to Lake Geneva to take a cruise. Then, we will transfer to Chicago, where the tour will come to an end.

    Harley-Davidson Museum

  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees:
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours through web mail at Contact Us. Your refund request will be answered and processed promptly. If you do not receive any reply within 2 business days, that means your request is not received successfully; thus, the tour status remains "confirmed". Please contact us immediately at 617.354.2101.
  • Cancellation penalties per person as follows, The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    Cancellations received up to 15 days prior to departure will incur a penalty of $175 per booking.
    Cancellations received within 7-14 days of departure will incur a penalty of 50% per person.
    Cancellations received within 7 days of departure will incur a penalty of 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    We cannot grant refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations:
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (e.g. minimum number of passengers) or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
