Day 1

This tour is unlike any other! We will spend the day exploring the unique geology of Hawaii's Big Island by visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where we will learn about the seismic activity that has been a constant element on the island. We will see Mauna Loa and Kilauea, two of the world's most famous volcanoes. Afterwards, we will make stops at Richardson's Black Sand Beach, Rainbow Falls State Park, Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory, the Jaggar Museum and Hawaii Volcano Observatory. We will also get the chance to walk through the Thurston Lava Tube, drive along a volcanic crater and take in the beauty of the Fern Tree Jungle.

Hilo, HI

Hilo is the largest city, census-designated place (CDP), and settlement in Hawaii County, Hawaii, which encompasses the Island of Hawai'i. Hilo is the county seat of the County of Hawai'i and is located in the District of South Hilo.

Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park showcases Hawaii's interesting geological history. Near the town of Hilo, Mt. Kilauea, and the Thurston Lava Tube, the park boasts an incredible, dynamic landscape that is often reshaped by local volcanic activity.

Richardson Beach Park

Richardson Beach Park is a park located just east of Hilo on Hawaii Island. It is significant for being the only Hilo beach with special volcanic black sand. It was named for Elsa and George Richardson, who lived there.

Rainbow Falls

This impressive waterfall near downtown Hilo, Hawaii is eighty feet tall and almost a hundred feet in diameter. Its ease of access and lack of admission fee make it a popular sight to see for visitors to Hilo.

Macadamia Nut Farm

The macadamia nut, although native to Australia, thrives on Hawaii. Many farms and factories offer tours of their facilities that take visitors throw the cultivation process and offer tasty Hawaiian treats.

Jaggar Museum & Hawaiian Volcano Observatory

A volcano observatory located at Uwekahuna Bluff on the rim of Kilauea Caldera on the Island of Hawaii. The observatory monitors four active Hawaiian volcanoes: Kilauea, Mauna Loa, Hualālai, and Haleakalā. Located at the main site is the public Thomas A. Jaggar Museum.

Additional Note

All guests must bring a valid ID for airport security check-in. International guests must bring a valid passport for airport security check-in.
No guaranteed sighting of active lava flows.
Dinner available for purchase, eaten at the Lava Rock Cafï¿½ at approximately 4:00pm.
Snacks & small food items available for purchase at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory.
ADA Accessible:
- Due to limited availability, we require that ADA vehicle reservations be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to date and time of service. Roberts will make all reasonable attempts to accommodate the needs of the disabled traveler.
- For electric wheelchairs or scooters: The combined weight of the wheelchair and guest cannot exceed 500 lbs, the maximum width of the wheelchair cannot exceed 29 inches.
- Stops may include sandy, uneven or unpaved paths not ideal for ADA accessibility. Not all stops on the tour are ADA accessible.
- Guests should wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Guests may want to bring light jacket in case there is rain.
- Routes and time may be modified or restricted due to circumstances beyond control.

Confirmation

All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.

Redemption

Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your e-ticket. You must print and bring e-ticket(s) on your trip, as they serve as proof of purchase.

Cancellations/No Shows:
Once purchased, this tour fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and the tour cannot be cancelled. Due to airline restrictions,passenger name changes are not permitted under any circumstance, and switching airlines may not be an option. Airline change penalty fees may apply and vary by airline and fare type.
No shows will incur full charges - No refund.
Prices may vary and are subject to availability by season, weekend, and/or holiday.
While we will make every effort to maintain a regular operation, we reserve the right to cancel a scheduled trip and issue a full refund to affected customers under special circumstances.
