Day 1: Rome

Welcome to Rome! At 5 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions, and leave the hotel for a welcome dinner at one of Rome's lively restaurants.

Day 2: Rome

Sstarts with a visit to the Colosseum. Then we will visit the Roman Forum and walk through the ruins of what were important government buildings from Roman times. The balance of the day is at leisure. An optional walking tour with a Local Guide is available to further explore Rome's famous sites.

    More commonly known as simply the "Forums," this ancient site was once a public square surrounded by active governmental buildings. The ruins go back at least as far as the eighth century BC and were the heart of ancient Rome.

Day 3: Rome - Vatican - Monteriggioni - Chianti Hills (197 km)

Sstarts with a visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo's ceiling paintings and The Last Judgment, followed by a visit to monumental St. Peter's Square and Basilica to admire Michelangelo's Pieta. Then follow the Apennine Hills to the medieval walled town of Monteriggioni. Walk to the main square, Piazza Roma, enjoy some free time, and try traditional cantucci alle mandorle (local almond biscuits). Enjoy views of unforgettable vine-clad landscapes on the way to your hotel, perfectly situated in the renowned Chianti hills.

    This comune in the Italian province of Siena is a walled medieval city that rises on a hill above the surrounding area. It was referenced in Dante's Divine Comedy and is a playabel locatin in Assassin's Creed II.

Day 4: Chianti Hills - San Gimignano - Florence - Montecatini (76 km)

Arrival in San Gimignano, we will walk through the narrow lanes with its towers before continuing to Florence. Then meet local guide and visit the Academy of Fine Arts with Michelangelo's celebrated David. Continue your walking tour and stand in awe in front of the magnificent cathedral, admire Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistry's heavy bronze "Gates of Paradise", sculpture-studded Signoria Square, and take pictures of Ponte Vecchio. Afterward, you may wish to shop for Florentine leather goods and gold jewelry, sold by the ounce. Continue to your hotel in the spa resort of Montecatini.

    The Piazza della Signoria features many can't-miss Florentine buildings. The Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's massive fortress of a town hall, towers above. The Loggia dei Lanzi is a beautiful piece of Renaissance architecture, bedecked with bronze and marble sculptures.

Day 5: Montecatini - Pisa - Mantova - Verona (197 km)

Marvel at the legendary Leaning Tower before arriving at the city of Mantua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by three artificial lakes that were created in the 12th century. Guided sightseeing features a walk through the historical center, the Percorso del Principe (Path of the Prince), and a visit to Teatro Bibiena.

    This Tuscan town on the Tyrrhenian Sea in northern Italy is most famous for its Leaning Tower. However, there are many more works of art and architecture to see, and time spent in Pisa will not be easily forgotten!

    The world-famous tower built during the Middle Ages is a testament to both human ingenuity and fallibility. The tower tilted because the soil on one side was softer than on the other, and it could not support the tower's weight.

    Mantova located in the Northern Italy. It's surrounded by the Mincio River and considered as the most important cultural cities in the Lombardy. Mantova was founded around 2,000 BC and it still maintains many buildings and landscapes of that period.

    Teatro Bibiena

    The theatre in Mantua was designed in late Baroque or early Rococo style by Antonio Galli Bibiena and erected between 1767 and 1769. It was opened officially on 3 December 1769. A few weeks later, on 16 January 1770, thirteen-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played a concert here, with resounding success.

Day 6: Verona Area

In Verona, medieval setting of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, join your Local Guide on a walking tour of this city. Take pictures of Juliet's balcony and rub the shining breast on her statue for good luck. Continue to the Arena, an incredibly well-preserved pink marble Roman amphitheater, where gladiators once fought. Built in the 1st century AD, it is now a magical venue for world-famous opera performances. Balance of the day is at leisure. An exciting optional excursion is available to Lake Garda and Sirmione.

    It is one of the main tourist destinations in northern Italy, owing to its artistic heritage, several annual fairs, shows, and operas, such as the lyrical season in the Arena, the ancient amphitheatre built by the Romans.

    This house in Verona is supposedly where Juliet lived, the titular character from William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. Visitors stand under the balcony and recite the most famous scene of the play.

    Built more than two millennia ago, this Roman amphitheater has been hosting performers from around the world for two thousand years. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people travel here to see artists ranging from opera singers to pop stars.

Day 7: Verona - Trento - Bassano - Padua (10348 km)

Follow the valley of the Adige River to Trento. Your orientation will show you how Italian Renaissance and German styles have mixed over time. Next, a spectacular drive through the Dolomites will bring you to the area of Bassano Globus Local Favorite for a Grappa Tasting, accompanied by some local specialties at the famous Poli Museo della Grappa (Grappa Museum). Later, continue to Padua and see St. Anthony's Basilica.

    Trento is an educational, scientific, financial and political centre in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, in Tyrol and Northern Italy in general.The city contains a picturesque Medieval and Renaissance historic centre, with ancient buildings such as Trento Cathedral and the Castello del Buonconsiglio.

    The city is picturesque, with a dense network of arcaded streets opening into large communal piazze, and many bridges crossing the various branches of the Bacchiglione, which once surrounded the ancient walls like a moat. Padua is the setting for most of the action in Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.

    A Roman Catholic church and minor basilica in Padua, Veneto, Northern Italy, dedicated to St. Anthony. Construction of the Basilica probably began around 1232, just one year after the death of St. Anthony. It was completed in 1310.

Day 8: Padua - Venice - Padua (68 km)

Enter Venice in style by Private Boat and meet your Local Guide. Highlights of your walking tour are St. Mark's Square and the byzantine Basilica, lavish Doges' Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs. Also watch a skilled Glassblower fashion delicate objects in an age-old tradition. Then, wander through the maze of little streets at your own pace or join an optional gondola serenade. Later, your Tour Director will take you to Al Colombo restaurant near the Rialto Bridge, where the owner, Domenico Stanziani, welcomes you for a farewell dinner, followed by a private water-taxi ride through the Grand Canal as a proper arrivederci.

    Piazza San Marco

    The Piazza San Marco is the largest and primary public area in Venice. The structures surrounding it date back more than one thousand years, although the vast majority are from Renaissance times. It has been called "the drawing room of Europe."

    Saint Mark's Basilica

    The Basilica Cattedrale Patriarcale di San Marco is the most famous church in Venice and is known for its unique and ornate Italo-Byzantine architecture that includes five hemispherical domes and fine patterns. It was built in the 11th century AD.

    Doges' Palace

    Built in Venetian Gothic style, as one of the main landmarks of Venice, the palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the former Venetian Republic, opening as a museum in 1923. Today, it is one of the 11 museums run by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia.

    Bridge of Sighs

    This gorgeous white-limestone bridge in Venice gets its name from an almost ironically bleak place: In the 1800s, the windows looking out from the enclosed bridge's interior were the last views of sublime Venice convicts would see before their imprisonment.

Confirmation

  • Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 72 hours of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. Please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking.

Redemption

  • You will receive an confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order was received. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your Confirmation Email (e-ticket). When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print e-tickets to present when you arrive at your destination. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

  • PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.
  • Prices: All vacation prices are based on rates (reflecting foreign exchange rates) known at the time of publication and expected to be in effect at the time of departure, and do not include airfare except where noted. Vacation prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Single room supplements and triple and quad room reductions are listed where applicable. Not all accommodation types are available on all vacations.
  • Cancellation: Standard Cancellation Fees escorted and independent vacations:
    (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    45 days prior to the commencement of services: $250 per person will be charged.
    45-22 days prior to commencement of services: 20% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    21-8 days prior to commencement of services: 30% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    7-1 days prior to commencement of services: 50% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    On departure day and later: 100% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
  • Reservation Changes: A fee of $50 per transaction will be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation. A change of traveler name, vacation date, or itinerary within final payment will be treated as a full cancellation and new reservation; vacation cancellation fees (as above) apply.
  • Contact Information: Passengers are responsible to ensure that operator Travel has the correctly spelled name, address, phone number, email and fax data for all passengers. Names printed on the invoice must exactly match the first and last name written in their passport (middle names or initials are not needed). Operator will not be responsible for passengers who do not receive documents due to inaccurate information.
  • Baggage Allowance: Due to limited motorcoach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30"x21"x11" and weight not exceeding 50lbs (22kg). We regret that we are unable to accept a second suitcase or any luggage exceeding these limits on any vacation listed in this brochure.
  • Passports and Visas: Passengers are responsible for obtaining and paying for all visas and entry documents, for meeting all health and other requirements, and for any documents required by the laws, regulations, orders, and/or requirements of the countries you will visit. Most countries require that the passport be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the conclusion of your trip. It is recommended you have a minimum of three blank pages in your passport when traveling, as many countries require blank pages. Multiple-entry visas are required for some vacations. It is your responsibility to verify all visa and passport requirements.
  • Children: Travelers who are less than 18 years old on the departure date must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the vacation. We do not accept children less than 8 years old.
  • Travel Protection (Insurance): Comprehensive trip insurance is highly recommended by operator.
  • Travelers with Disabilities: Tour participants requiring any form of assistance are required to notify operator in writing at the time of reservation, and must be accompanied by an individual responsible for providing those services. Tour managers, guides, drivers or other tour, hotel, ship personnel are not able to provide such assistance. Wheelchairs + Walkers: Due to physical constraints and space limitations, wheelchairs and walkers may not be taken aboard motor coaches and/or river cruise ships. Operator reserves the right to remove any person from a tour or cruise who has not provided the required notification, has not received written confirmation from operator, or does not comply with these regulations. All related expenses, including those to return home, will be borne by the passenger.
  • Hotel Accommodations: The accommodations listed in the brochure or on the Web site are intended to be used on all departures; however, if a change becomes necessary for any reason, including additional departures on the same date, the accommodations substituted will be equivalent to those shown. Every effort is made to reserve only twin-bedded rooms. Occasionally, some hotels will only provide double-bedded rooms. These rooms will be allocated to couples. Please note that accommodation check-in times vary worldwide.
  • Service Inquiries After the Vacation: Any complaint or claim involving the vacation services offered in this brochure or on the Web sites must be notified to the Company within 30 days of the tour completion, except where such time limitations are prohibited by law.
    As it is difficult and sometimes impossible to properly investigate a complaint if we are not advised of such complaint quickly, any compensation you may have been able to claim could be reduced or even forfeited if you do not follow the complaints procedure set out in this clause.
  • RESPONSIBILITY: Operator and its representatives abroad act only as independent contractors acting on behalf of neither the customer nor the suppliers and principals. All exchange orders, coupons, and tickets, whether paper or electronic, are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which such means of transportation, accommodations, and other services are offered or provided. The issuance and acceptance of such documents shall be deemed to be consent to the further conditions. Operator does not own nor operate the hotels, motor coaches, airlines, cruise lines, or any other service providers which compose their tours, and will not be held responsible for changes and/or cancellations for any reason by airlines, hotels or cruise ships.
  • The Travel Agent and/or Tour Operator, shall not be in any way liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity in any vehicle, or through the act of default of any company, or person engaged in conveying passengers, or of any hotel proprietor, personnel, servant or any other person otherwise in connection therewith. Operator shall not be held responsible for potential risks and hazards associated with travel to destinations included in this brochure, where injury, delay, or unanticipated events may occur. Operator shall not assume responsibility for standards of quality, hygiene, political stability, cuisine, sanitation facilities, diseases or viruses contracted while traveling for any cause, cleanliness, telecommunications facilities, methods of conducting business, emergency medical evacuation, treatment, or medical services found in these destinations. Travel to these areas may entail risks including but not limited to the hazards of traveling in politically unstable areas, civil disturbances, war, and arbitrary changes mandated by government authorities or private concerns. It is the responsibility of the passenger(s) to check with the U.S. State Department, Consular Information, click here for any current advisories and updates to the destinations on their itinerary. Operator shall be held harmless from any and all liability in connection with the foregoing. Operator cannot accept responsibility for loss or expense due to delay or changes in transportation schedule or other causes. Operator shall not be held responsible for potential loss of services due to inclement weather conditions.
