Day 1: San Salvador

After arrival in San Salvador, we will meet with the tour guide and the rest of the group at the hotel. In the evening we could join a welcome meeting then followed by an optional dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Day 2: San Salvador - Suchitoto (33 km)

Today we will start our tour with a walking tour around the historic center before going to a beautiful town of Suchitoto in the afternoon. We will visit its colonial buildings, and also choose from outdoor types such as hikes to waterfalls, caves and Suchitlan Lake. Then we will continue to visit the basaltic prisms of nearby Cascada Los Tercios. Afterwards we will join a walking tour around the town followed by optional dinner & evening entertainment program.

Day 3: Suchitoto (20 km)

After a boat trip on the Suchitlan Lake and market food Tour in the morning, we can choose either to explore the Suchitoto town or do some other outdoor activities: hike in the Cinquera Forest, kayak on Suchitlan Lake, visit the Guazapa Volcano or nearby Cihuatan Ruins.

Day 4: Suchitoto - Joya de Ceren - Chalchuapa - Ahuachapan (95 km)

In the morning we will leave from Suchitoto and head to Ahuachapan. On our way to visit captivating ruins of Joya de Ceren, we will also enjoy the beauty of Lake Coatepeque, then we will stop to explore impressive Tazumal Ruins. In the evening we will explore its vibrant streets before taking an optional dinner and savoring some drinks with our group at one of the local restaurants.

    Tazumal is a pre-Columbian Maya archeological site in Chalchuapa, El Salvador. Archaeological investigations indicate that Tazumal was inhabited from the Classic period through to the Postclassic and that the site had links as far afield as central Mexico, the northern Yucatan Peninsula and lower Central America.

Day 5: Ahuachapan

Today we will spend time exploring la Ruta de las Flores. Traveling by private vehicle, we will visit its brightly colored colonial towns, hike to impressive waterfalls and see one of the country's first coffee plantations. After a long day of exploration, we will relax in one of Ahuachapan's hot springs.

Day 6: Ahuachapan - El Tunco (68 km)

In the morning we will go to El Tunco and enjoy nearby Sunzal Beach. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, we can just move a bit to nearby villages where you will find wild and windswept beaches with sea turtles hatching there.

Redemption

  • You will receive a confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is processed. Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.
  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Less than 15 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount
    Day of departure - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    Cancellation penalties of all extra services booked with us (airport transfers, pre and post night accommodations, single room surcharge and additional activities):
    31 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30 days or less prior to departure - 100% of the price of extra services.
    NOTE: There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties. We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
