Day 1: Sapporo

Today you will arrive in Sapporo, Japan! A tour guide will be waiting for you at the airport upon your arrival. After greeting you, you will be arranged to check in at the hotel to rest and recharge for the wonderful journey ahead. You can freely arrange your own day; the following is the recommended itinerary for your reference. You can go to Tanukikoji or Susukino Fun Street by yourself.

    Susukino is Sapporo's main entertainment area! There is a huge variety of Sapporo's best restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs, cinemas, karaoke parlors, and hotels. There is so much to do and it is the perfect place for you to explore.

    Tanukikoji Shopping Street

    Sapporo Tanukikoji Shoten is one of the oldest shopping streets in Hokkaido and celebrated its 145th anniversary in 2018 (Meiji 6). In addition, it is one of the largest shopping districts, with a total length of 900m for seven blocks and a full-covered arcade with about 200 stores. The current arcade from 1-chome to 6-chome is the second generation (completed in 1982), and it is a long arcade that covers the intersecting roads except for the national highway.

Day 2: Sapporo-Noboribetsu-Hakodate

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Hokkaido Shrine. Then we will head to visit Shiroi Koibito Park, where you can not only visit, but also make white lovers' chocolate cookies.Then we will go to Noboribetsu Jigokudani where there are many gushing holes and fumaroles along the valley. Finally, we will go to the Ōnuma Quasi-National Park for sightseeing.

    Hokkaido Shrine

    Hokkaido Shrine is a deeply spiritual place of inner beauty and refined elegance. It is said that one of the best places to view cherry blossoms in northern Japan is at Hokkaido Shrine. This shrine is also the resting place of four deities, Okunitama, Okuninushi, and Sukunahikona, and also the soul of the Meiji Emporer.

    Shiroi Koibito Park

    Shiroi Koibito Park in Sapporo, Hokkaido is a chocolate entertainment park operated by a Japanese confectionery manufacturer which produces Shiroi Koibito. It is one of the famous sweets in Japan. This park is a beautiful place to gather and see where British and Hokkaido cultures merge.

  • Noboribetsu, JAPAN

    Noboribetsu Jigokudani

    Noboribetsu Jigokudani is an explosion crater with a diameter of about 450m created by the eruption of Mt. Hiyori. There are many gushing holes and fumaroles along the valley, and the scenery of bubbling and boiling is thought to be "hell where demons live." This is where it gets the name Jigokudani. To put it simply, there are many gushing holes and fumaroles in the valley, and the way the steam rises up to the point where it boils so much that it blocks your view. In Noboribetsu Jigokudani, 10,000 tons of various kinds of hot springs are pumped out from here every day and are supplied to hotels in the surrounding hot spring town.

    During the maple leaf season from late September to late October, if you cannot go to Noboribetsu Jigokudani due to weather, you will go to Noboribetsu-Orov Red-leaf Ridge instead.

    Onuma Quasi-National Park

    Onuma Quasi-National Park showcases the most beautiful appearance, and you can feel the shine of the three new views of Japan during the autumn leaves season from mid-October to early November. In addition, there are spots around the area where you can see the autumn leaves, such as the Shirotai Ranch. Take a moment to embrace and enjoy the beautiful leaves of maple, kashiwa, and Nara.

Day 3: Hakodate

After breakfast, we will first drive to Goryokaku Park. You can enjoy walking around through the beautiful scenery in four seasons: Cherry blossoms in the spring, green trees in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall and snow in the winter. Following, we will go to Hakodate Morning Market, which is one of the very lively markets in Hokkaido. The shops with strong market style Chaoshi are very busy from morning to noon. You can buy fresh aquatic products here and eat them in seafood restaurants. Then, we will go to Motomachi Park for sightseeing. There are many historically valuable things such as Gerard's water house ruins and the Yamate 80th building ruins. Afterwards, we will go to the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, which is one of the signs of the Hakodate Bay area. After that, we will go to Hachiman-zaka slope and in the evening, we will go to Mount Hakodate to enjoy the beautiful night view.

    Goryokaku Park

    The Site of Goryokaku Fort is designated as a national special historic site. It is a park blessed with nature and you can enjoy walking around through the beautiful scenery in four seasons: Cherry blossoms in the spring, green trees in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall and snow in the winter. The observation floors are adjacent to the Goryokaku Tower.

    Hakodate Morning Market

    The Japanese port town elegance, and landscape is located just right here! Seafood starting with crabs and salmon come directly from the farms. It is extremely super fresh and for sale in Hokkaido. After midday however, it's not uncommon for things to be sold out. An ideal strategy would be to visit the morning market as early as you can.

    Motomachi Park

    The Motomachi Park is a green park in the Yamate district of Yokohama. You can enjoy the cherry blossoms in the spring, and the waterscape creates a cool space in the summer. In the park, there are many historically valuable things such as Gerard's water house ruins and Yamate 80th building ruins. In addition, there are the Yamate 234 building of the Yokohama Yamate Westernstyle building, the Ehrismann House, and the Berwick Hall, all of which can be visited for free. In addition, sports facilities such as a municipal swimming pool and an archery range are also there for many citizens to use.

    Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse

    The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse is a commercial complex that consists of four facilities, which were built after renovating an old red brick warehouse built in 1909. Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse was the first commercial warehouse in Hakodate and has witnessed the history of the city through its warehousing business. As one of the symbols of the Hakodate bay area that still reminds us much of the early days of the shipping industry, Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse will continue to witness the history of Hakodate forever and offer every visitor a beautiful, unforgettable time.

    Hachiman-zaka Slope

    Named for the Hakodate Hachiman Shrine, which has since moved. The Hachiman-zaka Slope is known for its splendid rows of trees and its views of Hakodate Bay with the Seikan Ferry Memorial Ship "Mashu-maru" in the distance.

    Mount Hakodate

    Mount Hakodate is a 334-meter high, wooded mountain at the southern end of the peninsula on which much of central Hakodate is located. On clear days and nights, the views from the mountain are spectacular and included among Japan's three best night views alongside the views from Nagasaki's Mount Inasa and Kobe's Mount Rokko.

    It's windy and cold at night on the Mount Hakodate. Please remember to bring warm clothes and hats. In case of the annual maintenance, weather or other force majeure factors that make it impossible to take the aerial ropeway, take a special bus to the mountain.

Day 4: Hakodate-Shikotsu and Toya National Park

Today we will say farewell to Onuma and head to the beautiful Lake Toya. First, we will go to visit Showa-shinzan, which is still climbing high slowly. You can feel the vitality of the active volcano at a close distance here. The bear ranch nearby can't be missed too. There are more than one hundred brown bears in the ranch. Then, we will explore Toyako Onsen, one of the most famous hot springs in Japan. The hot spring is rich in various minerals that will instantly help you feel relaxed. Finally, we will take a visit to the Toyako Sairo Tenbodai near the Lake Toya to see the beautiful scenery of the surrounding lakes and mountains.

    Showa Shinzan

    Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch

    There are hundreds of brown bears in the Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch. The ranch area is large, and brown bears are divided into several relatively fixed areas according to their ages. At the entrance of each ranch, there is a food counter for brown bears. You can buy apples, cookies and other foods here to experience the fun of feeding bears. Some bears will stand with their back paws and wave to you with their front paws when they see the food in your hand. Others will bow to you. Others will simply lie on the ground and do some funny actions to attract attention.

    Toyako Onsen

    Toyako Onsen, one of the three major landscapes in Hokkaido, has formed an excellent hot spring area because of the frequent eruption of volcanoes. Toyako Onsen is a weak salt hot spring that moistens and refreshes the skin. It is also effective for gastrointestinal diseases and chronic muscle rheumatism. In this place, you can also overlook the Yangti Mountain, known as "Shrimp Feet Fuji" to relax your body and relieve your stress.

    Toyako Sairo Tenbodai

    Toyako Sairo Tenbodai is the best place to take a panoramic shot of Lake Toya. The nearby water and distant mountains are very touching. Here you can enjoy all the natural landscapes around Lake Toya.

Day 5: Shikotsu and Toya National Park-Otaru-Sapporo (13882 km)

Today, we will first go to the oldest canal in Hokkaido, the Otaru Canal. It is the symbol of the pioneering history of Hokkaido, also famous for the movie “Love Letter.” Then follow us and visit the Marchen Intersection, located by the Kitaichi Glass Crystal Kan and the Otaru Orgel Museum. There are many things to see along the way. After reluctantly saying goodbye to Otaru, we will drive back to Sapporo. The Former Hokkaido Government Office made of red bricks and the white Sapporo Clock Tower are unique to look at with different seasons and weathers. Finally, we will go to the bustling Sapporo Odori Park, where there are many festivals throughout the year, which will surely satisfy you!
  • Otaru, JAPAN

    A city and port in Shiribeshi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan, northwest of Sapporo. With its many historical buildings, Otaru is a popular tourist destination. Because it is a 25-minute drive from Sapporo, it has recently grown as a bedroom community.

    Otaru Canal

    A canal adorned with Victorian-style street lamps runs through Otaru.

    Marchen Intersection

    The intersection where the Otaru Orgel Museum is located is called the "Marchen Intersection", which is a typical street view of Otaru. On both sides of the street, there are many European style buildings, just like a fairy tale world.

    Kitaichi Glass Pavilion

    Kitaichi Glass dates back to 1901. Here you will find several stores and art galleries. You can also visit the stores to experience the making of the Kitaichi Glass.

    Otaru Orgel Museum

    Music box is one of the famous products of Otaru. Otaru Orgel Museum is not only a popular souvenir shop, but also the oldest and largest music box museum in Japan. There are more than 3,000 kinds of music boxes from all over the world, including many traditional music boxes that can hardly be seen on the market. The modeling is very diversified which makes it a unique place to explore.

    Ginnokane

    The Ginnokane building is two floors high. On the first floor, small bottles of souvenirs and foods are sold. On the second floor, there is a coffee and tea shop where customers can take away the cup as a souvenir when they finish their drink.

    Sapporo Clock Tower

    Founded in 1878, Sapporo Clock Tower is the martial arts arena of the Sapporo Agricultural School, the predecessor of Hokkaido University. It is also one of the few American buildings preserved in Hokkaido today. As a symbol of the introduction of western education in Japan in the 19th century and the Kaizen period in Hokkaido, the bell ring has lasted for more than 100 years. It has been designated as an important cultural property of Japan and has become one of the major symbols of Sapporo.

    Sapporo Odori Park

    Sapporo Odori Park is located in the center of Sapporo and runs from east to west. There are many urban sculptures, fountains, lilac trees and locust trees in the park. The Sapporo TV Tower and Sapporo Museum are also located in the park. The park is also the host place of various festivals, such as the YOSAKOI Sorang Festival which is an outdoor beer garden festival in the summertime.

Today we will go to Asahikawa, the second largest city in Hokkaido. First of all, go to the Asahiyama Zoo. In the museum, we can see the lively and natural state of the animals. It is very interesting to accompany the penguins for a walk outdoors in winter. Then, we will head to Biei and visit the Blue Pond, Seven Star Tree, Ken and Mary Tree, Shirahige Falls, Shikisai no Oka and Ningle Terrace. Later, we will back to Sapporo.

This famous pond became an Apple Macintosh desktop wallpaper that is used all around the world. More importantly, it has become a spiritual place for many to gather.

    Patchwork Road

    The Patchwork Road is a 14 km road and the most touristic area in Biei. It has a number of iconic view spots to encounter. It is such a unique and beautiful place to visit.

    Seven Stars Tree

    The Seven Star Tree has become a selective image when it was first used on a package of the Seven Star cigarettes. It is a scenic spot that represents the beautiful scenery of the hills of Biei and the perfect place for you to visit.

    Shirahige Falls

    Shirahige Falls is a spectacular waterfall situated 600 meters above sea level in the town of Biei, located southeast of Asahikawa. White curtains of water cascade through gaps in the cliff which give this natural landmark its unique name, which means "white beard waterfall".€ Shirahige Falls is unusual for a Japanese waterfall in that it flows from an underground river. The waterfall is particularly stunning in the winter when frost-encrusted trees and shimmering icicles showcase the blue ravine below.

    Shikisai no Oka

    The panoramic flower gardens of Shikisai-no-oka provide spectacular views across the surrounding lands on Oka-no-machi Biei. It is a paradise of seasonal blossoms from springtime until fall, in which several dozen different species of flowers and grasses flourish.

In winter, Furano is prime downhill and cross-country skiing territory with world-class slopes. Warmer weather is perfect for river rafting, trekking, cycling, golf and other pursuits.

    Ningle Terrace is a shopping area located in the green forest of Furano. It is nice place to go shopping and enjoy the cool breeze as you walk through the area. The shops are in the form of wood cabins and will be lighted up after sunset creating a romantic scene.

Day 7: Sapporo

Today will be the end of our unforgettable and pleasant journey of Japan! You can book a suitable flight to leave the New Chitose Airport (CTS) according to your needs. Our staff only provides one drop-off service from the hotel at 7:00am in the morning. If a guest has an early flight and needs to leave the hotel before 7:00am to the airport, please provide your own transportation to the airport.

    Less than 44 days but 30 days prior to departure date (EST): 70% of total purchase amount can be refunded
    Less than 29 days but 23 days prior to departure date (EST): 50% of total purchase amount can be refunded
    Less than 22 days prior to departure date (EST) or on departure day (EST): 100% penalty. No refund
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure of the tour, TakeTours only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
