Afternoon Blue Mountains Tour

    Chinatown Sydney

    In the late 19th century, this area in Sydney attracted a high number of Asian immigrants to Australia, and thus, the city's Chinatown district was born. During Australia's bicentennial, China gifted the district a traditional-style garden.

    Darling Harbour

    Right next to the city center of Sydney, this is a large recreational harbor and pedestrian area that connects the business district and Chinatown. It is home to many markets and shopping centers.

    Hyde Park

    The oldest public park in Australia, Sydney's Hyde Park opened in 1878. It is located in the city's central business district and is surrounded by some of the area's most notable buildings, like the New South Wales Supreme Court.

    Mrs Macquarie's Chair

    This sandstone rock has been cut into the shape of a bench and sits on a peninsula that juts out into Sydney Harbor. It is named after the wife of one of New South Wales' earliest governors.

    Royal Botanic Gardens

    This set of botanical gardens in Sydney is the oldest scientific institution in all of Australia, opened back in 1816. It covers an area of approximately 30 hectares. Several flying foxes, a species of fruit bat, reside here.

    St Mary's Cathedral

    The official seat of the Archdiocese of Sydney, this cathedral is in Hyde Park. Bearing the distinction of a minor basilica, it is named for Mary Help of Christians, the patron saint of Australia.

    Sydney Harbour Bridge

    A steel through arch bridge, this bridge crosses Sydney's harbor, connecting the Central Business District with the North Shore. Construction on the bridge wrapped up in 1932, when it opened for automobile, train, and pedestrian traffic.

    This park, located about 50 miles from Sydney, is one of the most visited national parks in Australia. The most famous location within the park is the Three Sisters rock formation.

    Three Sisters

    This rock formation in the Blue Mountains National Park gets its name from a local legend of three women from a local Aboriginal tribe. It is three scraggy stacks that just out from a mountainside.
