Amazing tour. The guide Tony was so humble, understanding, and helpful. He created the family-like environment. I was traveling with my wife and 1 year old daughter. They managed to give me the last seats so that I can get my stroller open when I needed it.
It was our first visit to the US, and we were not sure whether it would work well. But when we boarded our first hotel, it was working so good and the our guide was awesome. He kept no stone unturned to complete the itinerary on time. Overall, it was good tour. Will recommend to visitors especially first timers to USA to take it.
Fun way to tour.. We had a great tour guide, Daniel. He had a great responsibility. Very organized and made the trip comfortable and enjoyable. I am eager to take more tours with them. Highly recommend this tour and guide.
I booked this tour for my friend. After end this tour, my friend told me that it was an amazing and memorable tour in his life. Guide was so cooperative & helpful- he explained everything in English & Chinese. Driver was also friendly, hotel was good, tour schedule was a little bit tight but it's as per itinerary. The itinerary could have been better, as more time could have been spent at Niagara Falls. Overall it was a pretty good experience for him.
What an amazing tour!! Our tour guide, Mani, was exceptional!! Such a lovely and pleasant chap. Outstanding and professional. Wish we could take Mani back home :) Our holiday was jam packed and there was never a dull moment. We got to see a lot of places with the tour. There was a lot of travel but that's expected when you're traveling from Niagara Falls and back. Our favorite was the Falls and Washington DC. Tour company, well done and to Mani, keep up the excellent work. Thanks for making our stay an awesome one! :)
My parents are from India and took this tour. I was worried about sending them alone for this tour. But believe the trip was organized in an excellent way and I had a peace of mind from their first day on the tour. I would recommend this tour to my friends and family. It was worth the money. One bit of information that I would like to give is please book the return tickets from Boston to save the unnecessary travel from Boston to New York on the final day of the tour.
We enjoyed this tour very much. The accommodation provided was also very good. Our tour guide Yinni was very helpful and accomodative. The itinerary could have been better as more time could have been spent at Niagara Falls. Overall it was a pretty good experience.
My mom and I took this 6-day East Coast tour, from Sept. 21-26, 2015. The tour was organized so well, from the airport pick-up, the tour itself, and the airport drop off. We had fun and enjoyed the tour. Those who want to take this tour, the Maid of the Mist was awesome! and our tour guide, Bert, was the best. He is very nice, very patient and funny too. Our driver, forgot to ask his name, did a good job too, we had a very smooth and safe travels everyday. Highly recommended!
It was a fully packed tour. Comfortable and nice accommodations. Bus was comfortable but the long road trips between the cities was tiring and almost took half of the day, so if possible go for a tour more than 6 days so that you get to cover more ground. Tourists were left behind in Washington DC at few attractions by the bus, could have been better managed by the guide. Cool driver and safe driving. Guide would let you know when to take breakfast, lunch, dinner, go by that as you may not always find restaurants near your hotel. Avoid Indian restaurants, I tried the Chapati House during my stay in New Jersey and India Kitchen at Niagara. Both places the food was overpriced and pathetic. When at Times Square try the food trucks, awesome tasty food. Also I found El Paso was really good for tacos when at Quincy Market in Boston. Niagara Falls was the best part of the trip.
There was so much covered on this tour. My wife and I are from South Africa and of Indian descent. We took the 6-day East Coast tour which started in New York. This tour really covers so much, and you get to see places that you would otherwise never get to see. The only problems are the buses are not of super luxury, and the organizers at the beginning of the tour are very rude at the registration office in Flushing. Our tour guide, Mo, was excellent and very helpful.
My tour duration was September 2nd to September 8th, 2015.
Overall great experience, all nights hotel stay was really nice and the best thing was that we didn't get tired after the completion of the tour because we had a good sleep all night.
They covered all the places as mentioned.
We booked the tour with friends. At the first we didn't expect to much because we only paid such a low price. But we go so lucky. First, the tour guide, Coco Lee, was an amazing time organizer, she was really very responsible. Second, the tour operators managed so professional, every single stop has tour a guide leading us, even though most people on the bus were Chinese and Indian. We never felt any discomfort.
Overall it was a good tour. If one needs to cover many places in a short time, this is the one. Hotels were good in all locations, except for the first day in New York, which was Edison Hotel. Bus could have been better and more comfortable then the existing ones, although the driver was excellent and cool. Tour guide, Daniel Lee ,was a bit impatient and needs to improve dealing with tourists.
Getting up early in the morning and late in night is expected. Be prepared for that. Overall a nice deal.
Great tour & fantabulas / amazing / super perfect & cconomical.
Just last week we all are back from our U.S. tour. We booked two tours through TakeTours.com. West Cost (6 days) & East Cost (6 days)
Our tour started from San Francisco airport pickup. All are very much organized & professional. Buses are nice with air conditioning & Wifi too.
6-Day US East Coast Vacation Package from New York with Airport Transfers (855-478)
Awesome tour experience with guides. They are Abril, Rebecca, Hanssel & Cristina.
The tour was well organized and enjoyable. The tour guides were helpful, explained in English & Chinese.
Driver & guides are so friendly. Showing & informing all required information. Giving sufficient time for sightseeing.
The hotels provided were excellent with clean rooms. The bus was comfortable at its best.
Overall it was a memorable tour. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Both our tours are enjoyable & we had great time.
My tour date was from August 11-16 2015. The tour was superb, and tour guide Evan took us to all the places and had decent knowledge. He explained all in English & Chinese language. The hotels were super and can recomond this tour to anyone
Boy, it was a packed itinerary but my friend and I enjoyed it a lot! It was our first trip in the U.S. Waking up at 5:00AM to shower for us to make it to 6-6:30AM departure time. It was a bit disarray upon our first arrival at Flushing, New York from JFK Airport, but once we were at our first hotel, we were glad to finally meet Ray, our tour guide. He sure knows his job very well. Very organized and was strict with departure times - only because he wants everyone to enjoy each destination with ample time. Our driver is also to commend, we all finished the tour in one piece! Being Filipinos, we didn't mind at all that we were with with 90% Chinese in the group and we loved the Chinese restaurants. Overall experience: GREAT! Looking forward to our next US tour.
I went on the 6-day East Coast Trip, and I was really impressed by the experience. Our tour guide, Yinny, was excellent, speaking Chinese and English very well, giving a lot of information about the attractions and keeping everybody on schedule. My family and I were really happy that we could visit so many attractions along the East Coast in such a short amount of time. We enjoyed the trip and have a lot of wonderful memories from this tour.
Awesome tour experience with guide, Jiawen Wen, and TakeTours group. Well maintained, organized and very co-operative. Great timings and fully enjoyed. From airport pickup to airport drop-off you will be treated as their family member. I would highly recommend this tour and am very tankful for such a wonderful experience.....
Enjoyed very much! Took this trip with my son from July 18-23,2015. Our tour guide, Leon Huang, was very good, very helpful, and honest. Didn't expect the tour to start off at 6:30AM which was not enough time for even a quick breakfast (used to join your tour before with enough time for breakfast). Should have advised us to depart from Boston so not to waste so much time on the bus back to New York and at the airport. Maybe I didn't ask enough information from your team. Next trip should be better. Otherwise the trip was good.
Although the itinerary was rather packed with many early bus rides, it was a lot covered in just 6 days. Almost the best way to cover all the must-sees in the East Coast. I only have comments pertaining to the important information to guests that should have been mentioned before each hotel stay or places of interest.
I had Fay/Fei as the tour guide & she needs to improve on her communication depth & spass on vital info eg. If drinking water is provided in hotels, the accuracy of waiting time between attractions and to improve on English articulation as words were not clearly spoken.
Aside from the communication weakness, my family and I had an amazing time soaking in the beauty of each city and enjoying Niagara Falls!
Hi, I am Aswin. I went on a 6 days East Coast trip from July 14-19. The trip was amazing from the time I landed in the airport until the last day of airport drop off. I was provided with a complementary pickup and drop off to the airport. My tour guide, Mr. Edison Sun, was very courteous, smart, knowledgeable, and a funny guy too. I was traveling by myself and Edison and I became friends, which was so cool about him. I love his dialogue "MY DEAR ENGLISH FRIENDS" we keep making fun of him imitating this one. Driver Mr. Lee is the best driver, followed the speed limit, and was a safe driver. He also did service stops on special requests, which is appreciated. Overall, I enjoyed the trip which covered most of the places in a short period of time. Thank you to the team.
I am an Indian girl in the age group 25-30 years, took this tour alone on July 10, 2015. It was my first tour ever alone.
First and foremost, the tour was very safe. It was a wonderful trip. Very well organised, covered maximum spots in such a short time duration. Our tour guide, Mr. June Li, was a nice person. Although there were maximum Chinese people in my bus, he made sure that he narrated everything in English and personally payed attention to every individual. He even told us which optional attractions were good because I didn't want to cover all of them, and told me which views were better for pictures. The bus was air conditioned and was good, journey was comfortable and the hotel accommodations were good. Like a coin, everything has two sides. Now cons of tour, for vegetarian at some points, food options were not good. For this my suggestion is to carry some food with you.
Took the tour with parents visiting from India. Isaac was our tour guide. He was excellent and gave individual attention to all the travelers. I would highly recommend to take a pit stop on the Liberty Island while on the Statue of Liberty cruise. In Philadelphia, you should also try to cover the Art Museum or at least drive past the parkway.
For vegetarians, please Google/Yelp places so that you are well prepared when the attractions are complete.
All in all, it was a great experience and I highly recommend the tour.
Parents and two adult children took the June 10-15 tour. The hotels were good, but bus had poor AC and did not have individual power. Toilet on bus was locked, which was harsh on the NY City Night tour. Poor guidance for vegetarian travellers. See Blog for pictures/videos & guidance to vegetarians: http://ramakesavan1.blogspot.com
Tour was well-organized and our tour guide, Andy Day, was considerate to our dietary restrictions. Many attractions were covered in a short time and as a result, we had to hurry through at most places. Overall, had a good time and enjoyed the tour.
Our tour guide Mani XU was good. Everything was good including the driver and itinerary. We were advised to keep the bus clean and be punctual. Please in the future, advise Chinese tourists to talk softly.. when all are resting, they scream and jabber, not considering others.. this was the only problem.
The tour was well organized and enjoyable. The tour guide was understanding and helpful. The accommodations provided were excellent. The bus was comfortable at its best. Overall it was a memorable tour. I would definitely recommend this tour.
We took "6-Day US East Coast Vacation Package from New York with Airport Transfers with Deluxe Rooms option" tour from www.taketour.com ex New York traveled with wife and daughter.
Tour was well planned and very professionally coordinated by tour manager Cecellia He, her experience counted which made the tour very smooth and her tips very really helpful.
Schedule was fast paced which is understood as many attractions on each day basis were covered, keeping in mind the right time to reach the next place, accordingly time was given to cover the attractions.
Hotels provided on deluxe surcharge are highly advisable as company provided us very good hotels which were value for money.
Our Bus specially was excellent, fatigue free, and the driver was good.
Some important tips to travelers taking the trip:-
1- Night Tour of New York can be skipped as it doesn't make a difference as all attractions are covered on day tour of New York rather take rest at hotel- it's advisable.
2- Tour ends at Boston so it's advisable to depart from Boston instead of New York, which will save a lot of time to catch a flight from New York unless you are staying at New York after completing the trip.
3- Indian passengers are advised to skip Flushing as it is DIY at Chinatown rather Arrive/Join at late evening. Advised to skip Night Tour of New York
4- Availability to Halal and Indian food is limited so be advised to purchase ready to cook food for all dinners, All hotels have microwave at reception.
Suggestion to Tour Operator:-
1- Buses with high speed WiFi can be provided on extra charge optionally.
2- Vegetarian and Halal friendly dinners should also be considered in itinerary.
Travel: 2nd week of Jun 2015
1> Cover almost all important spots on east coast.
2> Good humored helpful tour guide (Kevin L)
1> Hotels not good. At one place, no one was available to attend in early hours when the toilet got choked. If you are traveling in Summer better upgrade to deluxe. Hotel improved towards later part of the tour.
2> Bus quality average.
3> Not for old parents. Difficult to keep pace.
4> Specific to Indian food: I had to walk 10-15 mins one way to reach an Indian restaurant. so 30 mins gone in traveling. This was important to me as my parents were with me who need Indian food. Availabilty 2/3rd of the places you stop for food.
If you are not particular about visiting Boston, then its better to fly out of Buffalo after Niagra. You save time and money.
Excellent , well organised! I took this tour along with my parents and a little kid. This tours covers many attractions in just 6 days. Every morning 6:30am checkout :). Tour guide was explaining in English and Chinese. Hotels were okay, you will get hardly any time to spend in hotel after a tiring day. We had fun with 60 people in the bus (50% Indian, 50% Chinese). Had great fun. My little daughter had a lovely time with all her Chinese fans :). Only thing is the bus was very ordinary. They did mention earlier that it's an AC coach with wifi, but actually the bus was very ordinary. It may not be a deluxe couch. We need to hurry a lot at every at attraction and with old parents it can be irritating sometimes, but it's necessary to keep the pace of the tour. 4 days from 6 days we could get Indian hotel at food stops so my parents were happy too. Thanks, we enjoyed it a lot and will definitely explore another tour option as well.
This is not a tour for the faint hearted. There is so much to see packed into 6 few days. I did this trip May 2015 and saw more of top eastern area of the USA than many ever see. I met people from all over the world, but is aimed towards Chinese guests. Some hotels are very basic but a few were excellent. Remember to bring breakfast- no time in the morning as it is up and go early
Our tour guide, Estrella, for the East Coast 6 days trip was amazing. She was the best tour guide ever. She was very friendly, helpful, and also knowledgeable, as she knew everything about places, was well- planed and, was a punctual trip.
The trip was fantastic! Very well organized. There were plenty of options for food choice as well. My only recommendation is if we could go closer to the White House and the Statue of Liberty. We viewed it from far! This is the fourth time we have taken this service and every time we were impressed. All my friends who took this were impressed as well.
The tour guide was helpful. Except for the food which was very specific to Chinese, everything else was great. There were a couple of hiccups with the bus which was actively swapped to a new bus. This package is very valuable for the price.
We took the 6 day East Coast tour. The tour was very well organized. The tour driver and our tour guide were very helpful throughout the tour. I would especially like to thank our guide, Zoe Li, for helping us and giving a very nice tour. Being a very big group, she did very good job in taking care of people, their needs, and keeping us on time. Sometimes we had to rush, but I felt that was required to make sure the tour stayed on time. Big thank you to our tour guide Zoe Li. I would like to come back and do tours for other destinations. Thanks Zoe :)
I took the 6-day East Coast tour with 2 friends in April 2015. It was a good and memorable trip. The schedule was tight but we visited many attractions in New York, Boston, Philadelphia with many experiences. The tour was very well organized. And the tour guide, Mr. Leo Liu, was very nice and friendly. He gave us instructions and details about each place.
We took the 6 day East Coast tour.
I took the tour with my husband. The tour was very well organized. The tour driver and our tour guide were very helpful throughout the tour. I would specially like to thank our guide "Windy Xie" for helping us and giving a very nice tour. Being a very big group, he did very good job in taking care of people, their needs, and keeping us on time. Sometimes we had to rush, but I felt that was required to make sure the tour stays on time.
Big thank you to our tour guide "Windy Xie". I would like to come back and do TakeTours for other destinations.
I booked this tour for my parents and they really enjoyed this. If one needs to see lots of places in short duration, it's the perfect way. Also the price paid is economical.
One aspect that should be taken is the stoppage of the bus for lunch/dinner. The places/restaurants should be selected where options for vegetarian should be available, or else at times it becomes difficult for a pure vegetarian person who does not eat meat as all.
I took the 6 day East Coast tour with my parents in December 2014. It was a memorable trip. The tour was very well organized. The accommodations and the bus journey were very comfortable. Our driver and our tour guide, Joe Ma, were very nice. Joe managed the entire tour very smoothly. He also gave us instructions in English about everything. He showed us where we can eat vegetarian food at every place and coordinated the entire tour very smoothly and efficiently. Overall, Joe was a very helpful tour guide.
We took 2 trips
1. 1 Day tour to Grand Canyon West Rim and Hoover Dam on August 26th, 2014. The bus was very good, the driver was very nice and knowledgeable. And lunch also very delicious.
2. 6 Days East Coast with Mr. Mars. He was the best. We had learned a lot of American history from him, he was also a very good singer. Our driver was very nice, our bus was very clean.
It was very good that we tried to keep the bus cleaned and avoid using the toilet on the bus.
The hotels were quite far but okay. We also loved Boston's Lobster. We really had a good times, and we would highly recommend this tour.
We would like to recommend you to provide a bottle of water just 1/person/day. Water was so expensive and not provided in the hotels. Children under 3 years old should not be accepted because it is to hard for them (both parents and child).
-Mother & son from Thailand
I have to say this trip was really good especially after we came from a rather mediocre trip in the West coast.. good hotels, great tour guide - Jason and team - plus having an option of eating at restaurants other than Chinese was a big plus.. definitely recommend it!
I would recommend this tour. It was good in the sense that it is well organized, economical, and covers entire areas. I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone. Just one suggestion to the tour agency- I feel total time in a day needs to be segregated little more efficiently. I felt time invested in some of the destinations was more then enough, and some destinations was little less. But I must say it was overall a wonderful experience with just little more scope of improvement. It could be just my thought that I wanted to spend some more time at few of the places, so I certainly recommend to a larger group.
The tour was very good, Julia the tour guide was friendly, informative, and translated everything into English. Niagara Falls was amazing! I would have liked to have visited a couple more places in Philadelphia, like the Rocky Statue/steps and State Penitentiary. The tour bus could do with a refurbishment. Very pleased with the tour overall!
Everyone on our tour was Chinese, we were the only Americans on our bus along with 5 or 6 other buses, but our tour guide was very kind and translated briefly what he said in Chinese. For anyone who would like to experience a lot of the top cites, and more, of the East Coast, this is it. We were at each attraction for about an hour so we had time to see everything, but it was short so we didn't get bored. You did't have much time for food, so sometimes we would skip the attraction that went on during lunch or ate something fast from a vendor. The rooms were very good, we got surcharge, but I would recommend having outfits planned and organized because you would wake up early in the mornings so packing would be strenuous. Overall, the tour guide tried hard to help us feel welcome and included, we made some friends along with appreciation for the Chinese culture, saw way more cites than we could have on our own, and plan on doing many many more tours like this. I strongly recommend this tour to anyone!!!!!!!
It's totally a good tour. Our tour guides, Ray and Kevin, did fantastic jobs in coordinating with all. Excellent!
On the first day though, we had a different tour guide- it was confusing for all of us. From day 2 onwards it was very good. I would recommend this tour.
It would be good to have some more stops at Subway or any US restaurant :)
Thanks Ray and Kevin for wonderful job!
My tour date was 6/21 to 6/26.
Our tour guide, Evan Huang, and our driver were very good and accommodating. Evan definitely made the tour very smooth and enjoyable for everyone!! My family and I (3 passengers) took this tour, and the time was used very efficiently. The tour is great, especially for those that have limited time and budget. Down sides are waking up really early in the morning, and limited food options. Also, the first day could be improved a bit. However, overall, it was a great pleasure for us! I will definitely take another bus tour for other destinations!
Very full on with getting up at 5:30 AM, having breakfast, then we had to have our suitcases on the bus and ready to go at 7:00 AM most mornings. Then we had very busy days and got to our next hotel about 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. But we saw many attractions and the tour guide was very professional. I completely recommend this tour but be aware they are big days.
We loved your program! Our tour guides Sophia, Isabel, and the bus driver, Jan, were amazing! They provided excellent service, had attention to detail, and great positive energy! They were helpful all along and executed the program successfully. We will recommend this program to all our friends. We hope to attend your other tours in the coming years. Thank you so much for everything!

Tour number 29, bus number 9
My wife and I, Jayasri, are an Indian couple over 50 years of age. We took the six day tour and have great appreciation for the entire packaging, logistics, hotels and our guide CiCi, who not only personally took care of all our needs and comfort but also ensured that we enjoyed the tour. I would recommend this to friends, Indian vegetarians, and would also personally take another tour for other cities I have not visited.
My wife, daughter, and I choose to go to the East Coast through TakeTours. It was a great trip made even better by our awesome guide, Mr. Steven Yaan. He was friendly and knowledgeable through the whole day and showed great enthusiasm, engaging everyone on our tour. We were very impressed by your management team and really appreciated the efforts of your company. We like to also share our hotel experience, provided hotels were also excellent. We would recommend this tour to everyone. Choose TakeTours.
I just returned to Malaysia with fond memories after visiting America for the first time. I am glad I signed up with TakeTours. James, our tour guide, a lovable American who speaks perfect Chinese, handled the group well with his organizational and people skills. No one was left out in his commentaries on tourist attractions and details pertaining to the itinerary and accommodation. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotels provided for this tour. The rooms were spacious and the sheets were clean. This allowed us to sleep well. Even though the bus was seated to its maximum capacity, the seats were comfortable enough for the long bus rides. It was action-packed from day 1. Cheers to James for making this trip such a sweet one.
The tour by and large is good. Ms.Sofi Wong is efficient and tough organizer and highly communicative & really helpful .The driver of the bus is stony silent but skilful and stored and lifted all the luggage single handedly .The hotels are fine and we got breakfast free at two of them and had nice swim in SPA at Hilton Double Tree .The money is worth. In the six day package the (last leg ) journey to Boston consumes whole day time and next day by noon the tour heads back to NewYork after having Boston Cruise and Lunch at Quinnesy. We r not allowed to spend much time at Harward and Massachusetts Institute due to time constraint. I suggest that Boston can be best avoided in the package and that saves money and strain. I suggest that brief narration of attractions be given before hand in Chinese/English on slips (to be returned ) so that there will be no room for complaints.
Good value for money - an efficient and well-managed tour. They cut the things you don't really need to save costs. Great if you want to see a lot in a short period of time and don't want to drive yourself. Make sure you have access to data roaming as they are quite flexible about what you do if you stay in the time frame (doing this means that you can easily find alternative food options on Yelp etc). Our tour guide Al was great.
This was our first time taking a bus tour. This tour was a real pleasure. Allen is our guide. He was very informative of the regions we traveled through. The tour route was well planned and executed in a timely fashion. John is our bus driver. He drove very safely and efficiently. The bus was very clean and quite comfortable.
This was one of our best trip in the USA. Everything was organized and we had great time with this tour. Our leader Jenny and our driver Mr Nan were professional. We are extremely satisfied with this tour.
It was really good trip. we were so happy during the trip. first day we could not believe our room. We did not wait like this room. It was really comfortable, especially our tour guide was so nice, smart, polite.most important thing is this tour is very cheap.if we go the usa again or Europe will choose this hour.thank youuuu !
We were happy with this tour as we were lucky having our tour guide Coco. She has an excellent english (not the case for other chinese guide). She was very well planing and organizing the tour and we enjoy a lot. The negaitve thing is taketour cut cost to make price competitive by cutting the BKF. We needed to look around to buy food or needed to pay hotels for BFK if available
Good tour for the price. Reasonable time for sightseeing. Boston can be excluded nothing worth the travel. Great hotels. Disappointed as the night tour was full and we couldn't take it. For people who want to see more places in a week and don't want to drive.
I joined 6 days East Coast Tour, overall I did enjoy the tour since this was my first time in New York. We travelled many places, with many new friends coming with. I recommend this tour for those who are eager to know many places with good price indeed. You gotta be ready for a fast-pace tour itinerary, such as preparing your water supply and breakfast for the following day.
It was a nice trip well planned ,
our tour guide Mr. MARS was very cooperative and he did his full efforts to make this tour more amazing. Last 2 days was really boring because lot of lot of traveling. My suggestion is that the Boston should be excluded from this tour and as a alternative the New Jersey Atlantic City included in that tour. Over all a good tour and one more thins our Bus Driver Mr Mike also a great Character.
My parents took this tour. Overall they were very satisfied. Everything was well organized. The restaurants that the bus took them to were not the best. They had too look for other options (vegetarian). The tour guide's English was not the best and very little information/explanation in English. Overall good value for money to get a glimpse of major attractions for someone on a tight budget and schedule. Well suited for the elderly. I personally like to explore and spend more time at places and this tour is not for me.
This tour was an excellent value for the money. Personally, one can never visit so many places in such a short time. Tour Guide had complete knowledge of the places visited. Recommended without exception!
Trip was good. We were excited to see more number of places to visit each day. We had lots of fun. It was very safe and secure. Only thing is we did not have much time to spend at each attraction. May be additional 30 min would have been sufficient.
The accommodations were good. But we did not have much time to eat. Potomac River Cruise wasn't a great point of interest. In Niagara and Boston it rained0, so we spent more time in the bus. I think there are too many objective and time is too short.
This is my second time with TakeTours on the same 6 days East Coast tour, I just like to make a compliment to Joyce Kwong on her animated and detailed description on each attraction and cruise which I didn't received the last time, she had made this tour more enjoyable.
The only thing I can pick on is the the work of inflation makes the side dishes with the $28 Lobster dinner duller than what I had on my first trip.
The tour planning was excellent.
Tour Hotels were little far from city, but very good.
There time management in Niagra was very good. Our Tour guide so smart and caring..., she managed to make us travel first in the "maid of mist" tour, which was very difficult.
it was my life time memory.
Nicely organized. It's great to tour with you.
The pickup person to have full yellow uniform or a red umbrella as instead of she locating us we had to locate her. Booklet of details of all visiting places to be given so we can experience the visit more.
Stay to be in inn istead of hotels at far distance.
Guide with umbrela is great idea to locate him.
Thanks. We shall definitely refer you to our friends.
Pradip Bane, India
We had a pleasant experience traveling with TakeTours. Our guide Kenny is nice and helpful. Strongly recommend this if you only have a few days holiday but want to cover as many places as possible. Most of the hotels are reasonably good. Just a gentle reminder that as breakfast in hotel is not included, so maybe you can prepare some instant noodles yourselves. Try to get breakfast/fruits/mineral waters whenever you see supermarket.
My parents has taken this tour to see east coast and they were quite impressed with the way the tour was conducted. Right from the pick-up (LGA airport) to drop off (at Boston airport), they enjoyed every bit of it. Hotels were good. Overall, I would like to recommend it to everyone (especially couples).
This is a great option if you want to cover the East Coast landmarks and you are short on time. The accommodation and transport were very good and the guide Jackie was very informative and helpful. Only thing they may not be able to cover all the sites in NYC due to shortage on time
The tour was well organised and met our expectation. If you want to see all the highlights offered, within the same period of time, in the most affordable manner, it is hard to beat this one.
Some of the sites visited such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art can take days if you really want to explore them. If you are staying in NYC after the tour, you can skip the Met during the tour and keep the tickets for later visit yourself.
I'd skip the Washington DC cruise. Nothing wrong with it but there's just not much to see. I think it'd be better to spend more time at the Smithsonian. There were just so much to see there.
Our tour guide, Eleana did a good job in running the tour smoothly. Ivan who picked us up from the airport was also very friendly and helpful.
Excellent tour, Great Experience
Our tour guide Dean was really good and he knew History about this country and places that we visited.
Recommend this Tour if you are ok with the travel and having quick visit to each attractions(Not a relaxed tour)
Great option for travelers who would like to see highlights of different states in a short period without wrecking your brains to navigate around, or breaking your legs from the walking. Lunches are rather rushed, but we do not mind saving the time for the attractions.
Attractions: Niagara Falls is the highlight of the trip. Maid of the Mist is a must! Exhilarating ride that left us in awe. The IMAX movie is very interesting too. Metropolitan Museum is amazing and the glass making show at Corning is great. Time is too short for the museums so go on your own if you prefer to have a real experience. In my opinion, can totally give Hershey's World and Washington DC cruise a miss.
Accommodation: We upgraded the hotels after the second night as we find the standard hotel rather yicky. The upgraded hotels are clean, comfortable and have free and stable Wifi.
Service: The tour is well-organized and the bus departs on time. Our tour guide Jacky is awesome. He is sincere, attentive and professional and covers the history and attractions in both English and Mandarin. Kudos to him and our driver!
The trip was great and the standard hotels were ok very comfortable and clean the beds were like sleeping on a cloud.
You get to see a lot of country
not that you stay there long but you get a chances to know where you can come back to another time.
The journey was really good, exciting, We knew a lot of places, and took adventage of everything. The experience was awesome.
We thought that Boston would be nice, but it was not enough for us. The Tour Guide (Melody) was pretty nice and explain everything in chinese and english too. The bus driver (Heri) a real funny cuban guy , help us a lot. And it still be short time to know a lot of things of every city and place.
We recommend this tours.
We'd like to recommend this travel agency as it offers a good service at a reasonable price.
Attractions: The route covers the major attractions on the east coast but the highlight is undoubtedly the Niagara Falls. Although it's half the height of Yellowstone waterfalls, it makes some impression and the Maid if the Mist boat ride is breathtaking. Surely, you'll get wet! We are also impressed by Boston, especially its harbour area, Financial District, and the city which combines historic buildings and modern skyscrapers with lots of green area.
Transport: All in all, you'll get a general idea of major cities but not the area because the bus runs along highways, so there are no views to see during a long journey! The advantage however, is that the bus stops at shopping areas with various eateries so everybody can make their own choice.
As for accommodation, hotels are of a good standard, rooms clean, often with complimentary breakfast but located outside cities. The tour was well-organised, without delays. Sincere greetings to our tour guide Anthony for his lovely songs and friendly approach.
My family and I had a wonderful time on this trip, we enjoyed and had so much fun. Everything is perfect, but probably add more activities. Our tour guide Celine was amazing, she helped us alot. Great job Celine, and thank you!..
We took this East coast tour on July 7, 2012 from New york. Our guides, Antony and Andy, was very knowledgeable and amazing in every way. It was great from the moment we found our guide at the bus and they are very helpful. We booked this tour through online
and it would impossible to imagine a better choice. Each stop was well planned with structured activity. It is very fully planned, time wise. Though time is short for each attraction since we have to cover many it is acceptable. New york, Washington DC and Niagara falls we enjoyed very much.
Washington Cruise, and Boston Cruise can be avoided not much fun. However this is not mandatory you can skip it.
within the short time of 6 days, we covered 4 states. This is completely amazing. Actually on the last you can book the Air Ticket from Boston instead of coming to New york so we can save some time.
Thank you Antony and Andy you were amazing and your help was so appreciated. and also Bus Driver Luis he was very cooperative.
Overall good but little bit too intense, not enough time for sleeping, also different force-majors are not taken into account. Would not suite to those who wants a relaxed holidays. Some hotels had little problems,e.g. like broken coffee-maker and you have no breakfast in the hotel because you have to leave at 6.30am. Generally good time management, lots of excursions, pleasant tour guide. Time was not waisted!
Enjoyed the trip overall.. I like that it's semi-guided and we can enjoy our own time (as long as we don't get late for the bus) ... I like that we don't have to go inside a museum or join the cruise if we don't want to.. At least, we have freedom for the activities and not get stuck..
Pros: Got to see a lot of tourist attractions.. Accommodations were decent EXCEPT for one (Motel 6) ... My favorite was Niagara Falls... I wish we spent more hours on this one especially the night view.. It was spectacular.. Plus, we get to cross the Canadian border! (It was just me & my bf's decision OK..Not the whole group..)
CONS: Motel 6 was disgusting! There was cigarette ash in our table drawer.. I killed a bug flying in our room.. The sheets didn't look newly-washed.. I guess they just fix the bed without replacing the sheets.. I wish we stayed someplace else.. Washington DC cruise was boring.. There must be something better to do in Washington DC to replace the cruise part.. Metropolitan Museum was nice but we didn't go with the group.. We went there on our own time cause I don't think that 2 hours is enough... MAke it 4.5 hours at least..
We decided to take the morning tour, so we reached the airport at 7.30 am. You have to give them a call and their representative will come to pick you guys up from the airport (around 8.30 am).
Morning Tour of NY City was good and was a good decision.
Ms Joyce Kwong was our tour guide and that was the best thing to happen to all of us in the tour. She spoke both English and Chinese fluently which made us very comfortable. Tour schedule was hectic but the coverage was good. Best things we liked about the tour
NYC Morning Tour (which was optional if you arrive at the airport before 8.30 am)NYC Night Tour, NYC City Tour, Liberty Cruise, Washington DC, and Niagara Falls. If people are coming from LAX, we would recommend them to take flights from Boston on the Last Day, which would save them a lot of time instead of going back to NY and take a flight to LAX.
Overall the trip was very good and i would recommend this trip.
The tour has been made memorable thanks to our tour guide Ms Joyce Kwong. Her language skills both in English and Chinese , dramatic narration, knowledge of History and culture and above all her ever smiling personal approach made us to forget the tiring schedules. The cruise tours at Boston and Washington should be dropped. Though 80 % are chineese, we all felt like one family. I will recommend this tour for anyone interested but seniors and Children should be aware of the schedule stress.
Enjoyed the trip. It covered lot of places and attractions in a short time which suited my parents visiting from India.. However cruises in DC and Boston were not necessary.. Told my tour guide that we wanted to skip the Boston cruise one day in advance but were told that reservation had already been made. We were forced to take the cruise.. due to tight schedule we didn't get enough time to explore the fascinating Intrepid museum and Smithsoniam Air force museum.. Tour guide (Sam) was knowledgeable and friendly.. However he spent 80% of time explaining things in Chinese. Overall the tour was good.
I travelled with seven of my family members. Ivan, the tour leader ensured that we sat together and rotated the seats throughout the trip. As we were Muslims, he tried to arrange for suitable food for us on those occassions where we had to go to Chinese restaurants. we were dropped off at Chinatown at the end of the trip and he arranged for cab and stayed behind until the taxi arrived to fetch us to our hotel in upper Manhattan. Thanks Ivan, you were great!
The tour take us to many places, although the schedule is really tight. This will be a great tour for people who want to know about what attractions every places have. So people can come back to visit the places that they find interesting in the future. If you are looking for tour that allows you to discover every attractions deeply, or you don't want a tight schedule, this tour will not be the one you want. But overall, this tour is in good value for its price.
The night tour of NYC for $25 is not worth it at all. In addition, after coming out of the airport on first day we had to wait 3 to 4 hours for the night tour in chinatown near office which was very uncomfortable. From Day 2 the tour was Ok with the tour guide Arron who was friendly. The other problem was that the locations we stopped at for meals which most of the time chinese oriented with less choices on food. It would be convinient for all the tour participants where if the stop can be made at a location which has a wider range for the benefit of all the tour participants. Overall the tour was ok.
Start of tour was little rough, as we did not get a chance to get into NYC night tour, although we were there before 5 pm. We spent only 1 day seeing NYC city and I felt that it was short. Apart from that rest of the tour was just fantastic!! Our tour guide Joyce, was really good !! ... she made all the difference.
The start of the tour was a bit disorganised but was handled professionally. The hotels, although a bit far from the cities, were all superb. Elena was funny, witty and has great patience! The Potomac River cruise should have been shelved as there's not much point of interest to see. Overall, the tour was all worth it!!!
This is awesome tour. Thanks to Angie the tour guide to make the tour simple and great. My parents were really happy with it. I would recommend considering more food options instead of only Chinese. Thanks again
We (family of four) attended 6 day East coast tour, it was amazing. Covered many attractions but unfortunately little time to view them. Tour guide was caring and would wait for people who were late. Travel was tiring especially during last 2 days. Variety of attractions, cruises, shopping, heritage buildings and crab dinner. Driver was reliable and safe. Hotels were better than promised on web.
My 11 yr. old daughter and I joined the 6 day East Coast Tour from June 15-20, 2011.
This was the first time we went on a group tour like this and we were very happy that we did because it's all worth it. It was a wonderful experience for both of us and very informative at the same time. I would like to share our experience from this trip and hopefully other people may find it helpful if they want to take this tour someday.
*ARRIVAL FROM AIRPORT*
We had a little problem meeting with the representative upon arrival at the airport.
To avoid unnecessary delays, make sure that the company has the correct contact phone numbers and other information in case they need to get hold of you once you arrive at the airport.
It took about half an hour before I met the representative and by that time I was a little bit crabby. I would like to extend my apologies to Michael and Ian for being grumpy the day we arrived at La Guardia Airport.
*OUR TOUR GUIDE-Jason Song*
He did an excellent job keeping everyone well entertained from day 1 up to the last day of our tour. He's a funny friendly guy with a big heart!
He speaks in English Language first then translates it to Chinese whenever he is explaining something or just giving us common instructions to follow.
He is so generous that he bought chocolates for all of us when we visited Hershey Factory. He also bought half dozen of glass flowers when we went to the Corning Museum and 6 people received a glass flower through a drawing. He is very good in giving us advice when to buy food ahead of time so we could eat at the bus or during the cruise. He give us ideas of what to expect for the next day's attractions so we can plan ahead of time whether we want to join or we want to skip it and just stroll in the nearby area. Excellent job Jason!
*OUR BUS DRIVER- Luis Montoya*
He did an excellent job keeping everyone safe during the whole trip. He is very considerate and well aware that we have a hectic schedule from the time we get up in the morning and how late we get back to our hotel rooms that's why he allowed us to bring drinks and food inside his bus on the account that we need to be cautious not to spill anything and that we need to put away our trash which is very reasonable.
We didn't have to worry about loading and unloading our luggage because he took care of them the whole trip. Awesome job Luis!
Before you go in this tour, check the attractions and the fees involved. They are listed and itemized under Overview tab and scroll all the way at the bottom and you will find a chart under additional note.
There we’re quite a few places we visited that we didn't have to pay. Attractions requiring fees are OPTIONAL. You don't have to go in and pay if you don't want to. But if you want to join make sure that you bring EXTRA CASH because you cannot use Credit Card to pay the entrance fee. I thought all along that people will have to fall in line and pay individually using cash or credit card once you get to the ticket booth or gate. But it make a lot of sense that the company purchase group tickets in advance so we get it at a discounted price and we don’t have to worry getting stuck in line because it’s a waste of time.
Our tour guide did not start collecting money for entrance tickets until the second day of our tour. He explained it very clearly that the paid attractions are not MANDATORY.
We stayed in different hotels every night. Rooms were pretty decent and clean. We don't have to worry about checking-in because Jason is in charge of getting our key/card. When we check-out in the morning all we have to do is drop-off the key at the service desk and head back to the bus. There was one night our group hotel was upgraded and we all stayed at Radisson for no extra fees. There were hotels that offered FREE breakfast but it's up to you how you're going to squeeze it in your morning routines since they want us to be in the road around 6:45 or 7:00 am at the latest. When we do skip breakfast at the hotel, Jason is very considerate and he would take our group where we can get breakfast.
During the tour, there were several restaurants that they brought us for lunch/dinner. I remembered there were at least 2 Chinese buffet restaurants we ate breakfast and lunch and the Cashier won't accept my VISA card. They only accept CASH. Maybe the reason behind that is they know that the majorities are foreigners and it will be a lot easier for them to just take CASH payment instead of credit card.
On our last night, our group was in Boston and we had Lobster Dinner for $28 per person regardless of age. This is actually not part of the itinerary. It should have been dinner at Washington for $14 per person. But anyway, we join the group because I love lobster!
Well, for the $28 lobster dinner you get one whole lobster. And the rest of the food needs to be shared with 7 other people. Each table accommodates 8 people. Other food that came with lobster were stir fry green beans, sea weed soup, chicken, fish, tofu, green vegetable and tea.
In my opinion $28 is a little bit too much for one person especially for my daughter who did not eat very much. Anyway, this lobster dinner is not mandatory. Some people did not join the group dinner. Considering that this restaurant was located in the China Town area you will not have trouble finding other eating place.
Our group was lucky because we didn’t get stuck with Chinese food the whole 6 day trip. We had Subway, Burger King, McDonalds and fresh fruits. We stopped couple of times in a big grocery store as well as dollar store.
*ATTRACTIONS/PLACES WE VISITED*
As I mentioned earlier, you have a choice whether you want to see the actual attraction or you just want to sit in the bus or go for a walk around the area which I think will be a waste of time and money. Since you decided to pay for this trip might as well join the fun!
We enjoyed every single place we visited. But there were couple of places that stick out the most. My daughter's favorite was of course the Hershey Factory trip. It would have been better if we get to see factory workers and real machine working during the actual chocolate production instead of going into a mini train ride where you see three singing cows and some fake chocolate syrup going through tubes after tubes. Well, this is a FREE train ride anyway so I guess it's not that bad after all. Prices for gift souvenirs and chocolates were pretty high compared to regular store.
It surprised me that the Maid of the Mist attraction was the cheapest cruise on the list since this was my favorite. It’s okay to skip the Boston Cruise but not the Maid of the Mist-it’s a one of a kind experience!
We joined all the paid attractions listed and I think they were okay. I don’t want to elaborate on each and every single attraction since every person has different opinion.
At the beginning of our tour, Jason explained to us he will collect service fees for himself and for the bus driver at the last day of our tour. He wanted to make sure that customers/passengers are satisfied with their services before we pay them. This I believe is the RIGHT way of doing it. If tour guides demand for tip/service fee at the beginning of the tour it only shows they’re not professional. You don’t give tip to waiters until you’re done eating or you don’t give tip to a taxi driver until you arrive safe in your destination.
The $3 service fee which you have to pay for your tour guide and driver on a per day basis-per person may add up at the end of the tour. But remember they are rendering their services from 6:45 am until 10:00 pm and so they very well deserve that service fee. I gave those guys extra tip because they played an important role in making this tour such a memorable and wonderful experience.
To all the staff of TakeTours- You did a fantastic job! Thank you very much!
My parents enjoyed this tour. The hotels was good. The extra ticket prices and tips did add to the cost though. Staff was very helpful and friendsly. They helped my dad to find the misplaced camera. I my slef planing a tour with them very soon.
Nice trip... many places to see... nice clean hotels... I wish there was more time at each stop.
Had to wake up early 6a.m. and got to hotels 9-10 p.m. Very tight schedules. Not much time to sleep. But everything else was enjoyable.
The tour is as described in the details and almost all the destinations were covered. tour guide and driver were considerate and pretty informative. Thanks Keensy and Kenny. The schedule is very tight so have a day of rest before getting on to the tour and if possible after the tour finishes before boarding the flight. The hotels were very decent almost all of them 4 star but better to have dinner before arriving to hotel. Take full advantage of free 3rd & 4th seat on buying 2 seats.
Even movies played in the bus, could see Inception, Karate Kid, Legend of the Guardians, Faster ..thanks. positive word of mouth for sure.
It was a great experience. Our tour guide Daniel was very considerate and helpful considering I had couple of seniors and a kid with me. We were fortunate enough to attend the Cherry Blossom too. Daniel and the driver took a few extra stops so that we could enjoy the Cherry Blossoms and a couple of other places. The Hotels were good. The schedule was little tight but that is expected when it covers so many places. Overall, the whole trip was very enjoyable and well placed and I would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks Daniel!!!
I had an excellent experience on this tour. Our tour guides Ivy and Lynn were very good. We went to the right places at right times and really enjoyed each and every moment. They both were extremely helpful. Although most of the tourist were from China, there were few from other countries and preferred vegetarian meals. Most of the stop-overs were at Chinese food places. In future if you could stop at the place where we had other cuisines would be extremely helpful. I also feel you should have a separate tour for shoppers. During the shopping times, you could consider having a tour to places where you would get the cheapest deals.
Reached LGA at around ~5pm. Had to wait for ~40 mins to get picked up by the tour. Apparently due to traffic, but shouldn't the tour operator already factor this into account and wait for us?
Was sent to a hotel (HJ) near Newark airport. This room is old, dusty and does not seem clean.
New York trip was pretty good. Tour guide (Jason) was nice and very patient with all of us. Would've loved to spend more time in certain places and skip others. Intrepid museum was worth it, but Metropolitan was not really worth it in my opinion because the time spent there was very little - insufficient to go through the exhibits to make the entrance fee worth it - in my opinion, this could have been skipped.
Philly and DC tour were pretty good. Although the DC tour was not worth it. Nothing much to see from the river.
Hershey's chocolate world is good. Corning museum is just ok.
Try not to take this tour in winter time. Niagara was not worth a winter trip... Spring, Summer, Fall would've been better. Couldn't take any good night photos in winter, but of course this is all our own choice to take the tour in winter. And the Maid of the Mist is not running as well in winter.
Boston tour was good, but it was just for half a day. In my opinion, this is insufficient. Could have spent more time in MIT or at least bring us to take good photo of famed the Strata Center. Also could've brought us to see more of the Freedom Trail stops.
This was a good introductory tour of the East Coast. Hotel was good for the rest of the tour apart from the first night. Recommended to take just the 5 days and purchase your own hotel for the first night.
Tour guide (Jason) was nice. Quite worth the $3 per day fee charged.
Bus driver #1 (Andy) was nice. He was quiet, but does his job without complaints. Bus driver #2 (Sunny) was not very friendly (From DC onwards). He seemed reluctant to be doing his job. Also does not allow us to bring up soft drink / coffee to the bus. Sometimes we did not have enough time to eat and thus have to bring the food up the bus. If we're not allowed to bring up soft drink / coffee that we purchased with the fast food meal, what are we supposed to drink after our meal? I understand the fear of spilling the drinks, but this could have been handled better by telling us to be careful or telling us properly instead of telling us rudely that we could not bring those up the bus.
The tour was good, according to the planning. Except the trip to Philadelphia and Washington, although the weather had the guilt because our bus was trapped by snow and we couldn't go to Philly and arrived later to DC, the guys in charge of the bus could have been more sagacious and have asked for help earlier. Only one problem, the first night we were accommodated in a room that smelled like tobacco. Supposed that all the rooms in the trip have were for not smokers...
Overall it was a good trip. There were few things we felt, if considered, it would have been better.
1) The total of estimated cost of admissions to the sights should be clearly mentioned. 2) Dinner at Washington D.C and Boston seemed compulsory. People at the restaurant were not ready to provide us with the meal that we requested. They didn't even care to check with us whether we are fine. 3) Our tour guide was ok, she made sure everything is punctual but seemed less friendly.
All the hotel accommodations were really good. As a group our advice to the future groups is that before paying for the admissions (188$ total) make sure where the dinner is going to be and what type of food they will offer you. If you don't like it, please refrain from that particular payment. Make sure you are on time to the bus at all times. It is a very worthwhile trip to take and with reasonable charges. Therefore we enjoyed it and will recommend it to our friends in future.
Admission costs are listed on this tour page, under "Optional Admission Fees". If you have any questions regarding these fees in the future, feel free to give us a call in advance.
My parents and I took this tour and we had fun. Thanks to Justin (our tour guide) who took care of us like family and he was so full of information for all places we visited.
First two days we end up eating nothing because the bus stops only front of Chinese/sea food and we are vegetarian. other than that it was amazing tour.
My parents took this 6 day tour from Sept 1 2010 to Sept 6 2010. Here are few issues
1) Admission fees to various attractions: They were charged more than what was mentioned in your website for senior citizen. For Statue of liberty cruise they were charged $23 person and website shows $21 per person. USS Intrepid they were charged 22 against 20. Metropolitan museum charged 20 against 15. Washington DC cruise charged 22 against 20. The money was collected by tour guide.
2) Instead of asking for tips they demanded service charges $6 per day per person. This money was also given to tour guide
3) Beside above issues, the services provided by the package tour were very satisfactory and professional, which we appreciate. The reception of the guests on first day was excellent as your representative was constantly in touch with us till we check in the hotel. Thanks
The tour was organised in an excellent manner. It was better than I expected before. Thanks goes to Patrick and the driver. Indeed my hotels were very good. I suggest to publish exact hotel details in advance, once ticket is purchased instead on the day of tour. I recommend that everyone take this tour.
Thank you, Ivan, Karen, and Chris. I had a wonderful time on my trip. I am grateful to you for being so good at what you do, and for even taking my picture at times. I will always remember how great it was.
Enjoyed the trip, everything that was promised was delivered and more, good and safe hotels and convenient locations for food and rest stops, very helpful and friendly staff. Most importantly very affordable. I will travel with them anytime again.
