My wife and I, Jayasri, are an Indian couple over 50 years of age. We took the six day tour and have great appreciation for the entire packaging, logistics, hotels and our guide CiCi, who not only personally took care of all our needs and comfort but also ensured that we enjoyed the tour. I would recommend this to friends, Indian vegetarians, and would also personally take another tour for other cities I have not visited.
My wife, daughter, and I choose to go to the East Coast through TakeTours. It was a great trip made even better by our awesome guide, Mr. Steven Yaan. He was friendly and knowledgeable through the whole day and showed great enthusiasm, engaging everyone on our tour. We were very impressed by your management team and really appreciated the efforts of your company. We like to also share our hotel experience, provided hotels were also excellent. We would recommend this tour to everyone. Choose TakeTours.
I just returned to Malaysia with fond memories after visiting America for the first time. I am glad I signed up with TakeTours. James, our tour guide, a lovable American who speaks perfect Chinese, handled the group well with his organizational and people skills. No one was left out in his commentaries on tourist attractions and details pertaining to the itinerary and accommodation. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotels provided for this tour. The rooms were spacious and the sheets were clean. This allowed us to sleep well. Even though the bus was seated to its maximum capacity, the seats were comfortable enough for the long bus rides. It was action-packed from day 1. Cheers to James for making this trip such a sweet one.
The tour by and large is good. Ms.Sofi Wong is efficient and tough organizer and highly communicative & really helpful .The driver of the bus is stony silent but skilful and stored and lifted all the luggage single handedly .The hotels are fine and we got breakfast free at two of them and had nice swim in SPA at Hilton Double Tree .The money is worth. In the six day package the (last leg ) journey to Boston consumes whole day time and next day by noon the tour heads back to NewYork after having Boston Cruise and Lunch at Quinnesy. We r not allowed to spend much time at Harward and Massachusetts Institute due to time constraint. I suggest that Boston can be best avoided in the package and that saves money and strain. I suggest that brief narration of attractions be given before hand in Chinese/English on slips (to be returned ) so that there will be no room for complaints.
Good value for money - an efficient and well-managed tour. They cut the things you don't really need to save costs. Great if you want to see a lot in a short period of time and don't want to drive yourself. Make sure you have access to data roaming as they are quite flexible about what you do if you stay in the time frame (doing this means that you can easily find alternative food options on Yelp etc). Our tour guide Al was great.
This was our first time taking a bus tour. This tour was a real pleasure. Allen is our guide. He was very informative of the regions we traveled through. The tour route was well planned and executed in a timely fashion. John is our bus driver. He drove very safely and efficiently. The bus was very clean and quite comfortable.
This was one of our best trip in the USA. Everything was organized and we had great time with this tour. Our leader Jenny and our driver Mr Nan were professional. We are extremely satisfied with this tour.
It was really good trip. we were so happy during the trip. first day we could not believe our room. We did not wait like this room. It was really comfortable, especially our tour guide was so nice, smart, polite.most important thing is this tour is very cheap.if we go the usa again or Europe will choose this hour.thank youuuu !
We were happy with this tour as we were lucky having our tour guide Coco. She has an excellent english (not the case for other chinese guide). She was very well planing and organizing the tour and we enjoy a lot. The negaitve thing is taketour cut cost to make price competitive by cutting the BKF. We needed to look around to buy food or needed to pay hotels for BFK if available
Good tour for the price. Reasonable time for sightseeing. Boston can be excluded nothing worth the travel. Great hotels. Disappointed as the night tour was full and we couldn't take it. For people who want to see more places in a week and don't want to drive.
I joined 6 days East Coast Tour, overall I did enjoy the tour since this was my first time in New York. We travelled many places, with many new friends coming with. I recommend this tour for those who are eager to know many places with good price indeed. You gotta be ready for a fast-pace tour itinerary, such as preparing your water supply and breakfast for the following day.
It was a nice trip well planned ,
our tour guide Mr. MARS was very cooperative and he did his full efforts to make this tour more amazing. Last 2 days was really boring because lot of lot of traveling. My suggestion is that the Boston should be excluded from this tour and as a alternative the New Jersey Atlantic City included in that tour. Over all a good tour and one more thins our Bus Driver Mr Mike also a great Character.
My parents took this tour. Overall they were very satisfied. Everything was well organized. The restaurants that the bus took them to were not the best. They had too look for other options (vegetarian). The tour guide's English was not the best and very little information/explanation in English. Overall good value for money to get a glimpse of major attractions for someone on a tight budget and schedule. Well suited for the elderly. I personally like to explore and spend more time at places and this tour is not for me.
This tour was an excellent value for the money. Personally, one can never visit so many places in such a short time. Tour Guide had complete knowledge of the places visited. Recommended without exception!
Trip was good. We were excited to see more number of places to visit each day. We had lots of fun. It was very safe and secure. Only thing is we did not have much time to spend at each attraction. May be additional 30 min would have been sufficient.
The accommodations were good. But we did not have much time to eat. Potomac River Cruise wasn't a great point of interest. In Niagara and Boston it rained0, so we spent more time in the bus. I think there are too many objective and time is too short.
This is my second time with TakeTours on the same 6 days East Coast tour, I just like to make a compliment to Joyce Kwong on her animated and detailed description on each attraction and cruise which I didn't received the last time, she had made this tour more enjoyable.
The only thing I can pick on is the the work of inflation makes the side dishes with the $28 Lobster dinner duller than what I had on my first trip.
The tour planning was excellent.
Tour Hotels were little far from city, but very good.
There time management in Niagra was very good. Our Tour guide so smart and caring..., she managed to make us travel first in the "maid of mist" tour, which was very difficult.
it was my life time memory.
Nicely organized. It's great to tour with you.
The pickup person to have full yellow uniform or a red umbrella as instead of she locating us we had to locate her. Booklet of details of all visiting places to be given so we can experience the visit more.
Stay to be in inn istead of hotels at far distance.
Guide with umbrela is great idea to locate him.
Thanks. We shall definitely refer you to our friends.
Pradip Bane, India
We had a pleasant experience traveling with TakeTours. Our guide Kenny is nice and helpful. Strongly recommend this if you only have a few days holiday but want to cover as many places as possible. Most of the hotels are reasonably good. Just a gentle reminder that as breakfast in hotel is not included, so maybe you can prepare some instant noodles yourselves. Try to get breakfast/fruits/mineral waters whenever you see supermarket.
My parents has taken this tour to see east coast and they were quite impressed with the way the tour was conducted. Right from the pick-up (LGA airport) to drop off (at Boston airport), they enjoyed every bit of it. Hotels were good. Overall, I would like to recommend it to everyone (especially couples).
This is a great option if you want to cover the East Coast landmarks and you are short on time. The accommodation and transport were very good and the guide Jackie was very informative and helpful. Only thing they may not be able to cover all the sites in NYC due to shortage on time
The tour was well organised and met our expectation. If you want to see all the highlights offered, within the same period of time, in the most affordable manner, it is hard to beat this one.
Some of the sites visited such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art can take days if you really want to explore them. If you are staying in NYC after the tour, you can skip the Met during the tour and keep the tickets for later visit yourself.
I'd skip the Washington DC cruise. Nothing wrong with it but there's just not much to see. I think it'd be better to spend more time at the Smithsonian. There were just so much to see there.
Our tour guide, Eleana did a good job in running the tour smoothly. Ivan who picked us up from the airport was also very friendly and helpful.
Excellent tour, Great Experience
Our tour guide Dean was really good and he knew History about this country and places that we visited.
Recommend this Tour if you are ok with the travel and having quick visit to each attractions(Not a relaxed tour)
Great option for travelers who would like to see highlights of different states in a short period without wrecking your brains to navigate around, or breaking your legs from the walking. Lunches are rather rushed, but we do not mind saving the time for the attractions.
Attractions: Niagara Falls is the highlight of the trip. Maid of the Mist is a must! Exhilarating ride that left us in awe. The IMAX movie is very interesting too. Metropolitan Museum is amazing and the glass making show at Corning is great. Time is too short for the museums so go on your own if you prefer to have a real experience. In my opinion, can totally give Hershey's World and Washington DC cruise a miss.
Accommodation: We upgraded the hotels after the second night as we find the standard hotel rather yicky. The upgraded hotels are clean, comfortable and have free and stable Wifi.
Service: The tour is well-organized and the bus departs on time. Our tour guide Jacky is awesome. He is sincere, attentive and professional and covers the history and attractions in both English and Mandarin. Kudos to him and our driver!
The trip was great and the standard hotels were ok very comfortable and clean the beds were like sleeping on a cloud.
You get to see a lot of country
not that you stay there long but you get a chances to know where you can come back to another time.
The journey was really good, exciting, We knew a lot of places, and took adventage of everything. The experience was awesome.
We thought that Boston would be nice, but it was not enough for us. The Tour Guide (Melody) was pretty nice and explain everything in chinese and english too. The bus driver (Heri) a real funny cuban guy , help us a lot. And it still be short time to know a lot of things of every city and place.
We recommend this tours.
We'd like to recommend this travel agency as it offers a good service at a reasonable price.
Attractions: The route covers the major attractions on the east coast but the highlight is undoubtedly the Niagara Falls. Although it's half the height of Yellowstone waterfalls, it makes some impression and the Maid if the Mist boat ride is breathtaking. Surely, you'll get wet! We are also impressed by Boston, especially its harbour area, Financial District, and the city which combines historic buildings and modern skyscrapers with lots of green area.
Transport: All in all, you'll get a general idea of major cities but not the area because the bus runs along highways, so there are no views to see during a long journey! The advantage however, is that the bus stops at shopping areas with various eateries so everybody can make their own choice.
As for accommodation, hotels are of a good standard, rooms clean, often with complimentary breakfast but located outside cities. The tour was well-organised, without delays. Sincere greetings to our tour guide Anthony for his lovely songs and friendly approach.
My family and I had a wonderful time on this trip, we enjoyed and had so much fun. Everything is perfect, but probably add more activities. Our tour guide Celine was amazing, she helped us alot. Great job Celine, and thank you!..
We took this East coast tour on July 7, 2012 from New york. Our guides, Antony and Andy, was very knowledgeable and amazing in every way. It was great from the moment we found our guide at the bus and they are very helpful. We booked this tour through online
and it would impossible to imagine a better choice. Each stop was well planned with structured activity. It is very fully planned, time wise. Though time is short for each attraction since we have to cover many it is acceptable. New york, Washington DC and Niagara falls we enjoyed very much.
Washington Cruise, and Boston Cruise can be avoided not much fun. However this is not mandatory you can skip it.
within the short time of 6 days, we covered 4 states. This is completely amazing. Actually on the last you can book the Air Ticket from Boston instead of coming to New york so we can save some time.
Thank you Antony and Andy you were amazing and your help was so appreciated. and also Bus Driver Luis he was very cooperative.
Overall good but little bit too intense, not enough time for sleeping, also different force-majors are not taken into account. Would not suite to those who wants a relaxed holidays. Some hotels had little problems,e.g. like broken coffee-maker and you have no breakfast in the hotel because you have to leave at 6.30am. Generally good time management, lots of excursions, pleasant tour guide. Time was not waisted!
Enjoyed the trip overall.. I like that it's semi-guided and we can enjoy our own time (as long as we don't get late for the bus) ... I like that we don't have to go inside a museum or join the cruise if we don't want to.. At least, we have freedom for the activities and not get stuck..
Pros: Got to see a lot of tourist attractions.. Accommodations were decent EXCEPT for one (Motel 6) ... My favorite was Niagara Falls... I wish we spent more hours on this one especially the night view.. It was spectacular.. Plus, we get to cross the Canadian border! (It was just me & my bf's decision OK..Not the whole group..)
CONS: Motel 6 was disgusting! There was cigarette ash in our table drawer.. I killed a bug flying in our room.. The sheets didn't look newly-washed.. I guess they just fix the bed without replacing the sheets.. I wish we stayed someplace else.. Washington DC cruise was boring.. There must be something better to do in Washington DC to replace the cruise part.. Metropolitan Museum was nice but we didn't go with the group.. We went there on our own time cause I don't think that 2 hours is enough... MAke it 4.5 hours at least..
We decided to take the morning tour, so we reached the airport at 7.30 am. You have to give them a call and their representative will come to pick you guys up from the airport (around 8.30 am).
Morning Tour of NY City was good and was a good decision.
Ms Joyce Kwong was our tour guide and that was the best thing to happen to all of us in the tour. She spoke both English and Chinese fluently which made us very comfortable. Tour schedule was hectic but the coverage was good. Best things we liked about the tour
NYC Morning Tour (which was optional if you arrive at the airport before 8.30 am)NYC Night Tour, NYC City Tour, Liberty Cruise, Washington DC, and Niagara Falls. If people are coming from LAX, we would recommend them to take flights from Boston on the Last Day, which would save them a lot of time instead of going back to NY and take a flight to LAX.
Overall the trip was very good and i would recommend this trip.
The tour has been made memorable thanks to our tour guide Ms Joyce Kwong. Her language skills both in English and Chinese , dramatic narration, knowledge of History and culture and above all her ever smiling personal approach made us to forget the tiring schedules. The cruise tours at Boston and Washington should be dropped. Though 80 % are chineese, we all felt like one family. I will recommend this tour for anyone interested but seniors and Children should be aware of the schedule stress.
Enjoyed the trip. It covered lot of places and attractions in a short time which suited my parents visiting from India.. However cruises in DC and Boston were not necessary.. Told my tour guide that we wanted to skip the Boston cruise one day in advance but were told that reservation had already been made. We were forced to take the cruise.. due to tight schedule we didn't get enough time to explore the fascinating Intrepid museum and Smithsoniam Air force museum.. Tour guide (Sam) was knowledgeable and friendly.. However he spent 80% of time explaining things in Chinese. Overall the tour was good.
I travelled with seven of my family members. Ivan, the tour leader ensured that we sat together and rotated the seats throughout the trip. As we were Muslims, he tried to arrange for suitable food for us on those occassions where we had to go to Chinese restaurants. we were dropped off at Chinatown at the end of the trip and he arranged for cab and stayed behind until the taxi arrived to fetch us to our hotel in upper Manhattan. Thanks Ivan, you were great!
The tour take us to many places, although the schedule is really tight. This will be a great tour for people who want to know about what attractions every places have. So people can come back to visit the places that they find interesting in the future. If you are looking for tour that allows you to discover every attractions deeply, or you don't want a tight schedule, this tour will not be the one you want. But overall, this tour is in good value for its price.
The night tour of NYC for $25 is not worth it at all. In addition, after coming out of the airport on first day we had to wait 3 to 4 hours for the night tour in chinatown near office which was very uncomfortable. From Day 2 the tour was Ok with the tour guide Arron who was friendly. The other problem was that the locations we stopped at for meals which most of the time chinese oriented with less choices on food. It would be convinient for all the tour participants where if the stop can be made at a location which has a wider range for the benefit of all the tour participants. Overall the tour was ok.
Start of tour was little rough, as we did not get a chance to get into NYC night tour, although we were there before 5 pm. We spent only 1 day seeing NYC city and I felt that it was short. Apart from that rest of the tour was just fantastic!! Our tour guide Joyce, was really good !! ... she made all the difference.
The start of the tour was a bit disorganised but was handled professionally. The hotels, although a bit far from the cities, were all superb. Elena was funny, witty and has great patience! The Potomac River cruise should have been shelved as there's not much point of interest to see. Overall, the tour was all worth it!!!
This is awesome tour. Thanks to Angie the tour guide to make the tour simple and great. My parents were really happy with it. I would recommend considering more food options instead of only Chinese. Thanks again
We (family of four) attended 6 day East coast tour, it was amazing. Covered many attractions but unfortunately little time to view them. Tour guide was caring and would wait for people who were late. Travel was tiring especially during last 2 days. Variety of attractions, cruises, shopping, heritage buildings and crab dinner. Driver was reliable and safe. Hotels were better than promised on web.
My 11 yr. old daughter and I joined the 6 day East Coast Tour from June 15-20, 2011.
This was the first time we went on a group tour like this and we were very happy that we did because it's all worth it. It was a wonderful experience for both of us and very informative at the same time. I would like to share our experience from this trip and hopefully other people may find it helpful if they want to take this tour someday.
*ARRIVAL FROM AIRPORT*
We had a little problem meeting with the representative upon arrival at the airport.
To avoid unnecessary delays, make sure that the company has the correct contact phone numbers and other information in case they need to get hold of you once you arrive at the airport.
It took about half an hour before I met the representative and by that time I was a little bit crabby. I would like to extend my apologies to Michael and Ian for being grumpy the day we arrived at La Guardia Airport.
*OUR TOUR GUIDE-Jason Song*
He did an excellent job keeping everyone well entertained from day 1 up to the last day of our tour. He's a funny friendly guy with a big heart!
He speaks in English Language first then translates it to Chinese whenever he is explaining something or just giving us common instructions to follow.
He is so generous that he bought chocolates for all of us when we visited Hershey Factory. He also bought half dozen of glass flowers when we went to the Corning Museum and 6 people received a glass flower through a drawing. He is very good in giving us advice when to buy food ahead of time so we could eat at the bus or during the cruise. He give us ideas of what to expect for the next day's attractions so we can plan ahead of time whether we want to join or we want to skip it and just stroll in the nearby area. Excellent job Jason!
*OUR BUS DRIVER- Luis Montoya*
He did an excellent job keeping everyone safe during the whole trip. He is very considerate and well aware that we have a hectic schedule from the time we get up in the morning and how late we get back to our hotel rooms that's why he allowed us to bring drinks and food inside his bus on the account that we need to be cautious not to spill anything and that we need to put away our trash which is very reasonable.
We didn't have to worry about loading and unloading our luggage because he took care of them the whole trip. Awesome job Luis!
Before you go in this tour, check the attractions and the fees involved. They are listed and itemized under Overview tab and scroll all the way at the bottom and you will find a chart under additional note.
There we’re quite a few places we visited that we didn't have to pay. Attractions requiring fees are OPTIONAL. You don't have to go in and pay if you don't want to. But if you want to join make sure that you bring EXTRA CASH because you cannot use Credit Card to pay the entrance fee. I thought all along that people will have to fall in line and pay individually using cash or credit card once you get to the ticket booth or gate. But it make a lot of sense that the company purchase group tickets in advance so we get it at a discounted price and we don’t have to worry getting stuck in line because it’s a waste of time.
Our tour guide did not start collecting money for entrance tickets until the second day of our tour. He explained it very clearly that the paid attractions are not MANDATORY.
We stayed in different hotels every night. Rooms were pretty decent and clean. We don't have to worry about checking-in because Jason is in charge of getting our key/card. When we check-out in the morning all we have to do is drop-off the key at the service desk and head back to the bus. There was one night our group hotel was upgraded and we all stayed at Radisson for no extra fees. There were hotels that offered FREE breakfast but it's up to you how you're going to squeeze it in your morning routines since they want us to be in the road around 6:45 or 7:00 am at the latest. When we do skip breakfast at the hotel, Jason is very considerate and he would take our group where we can get breakfast.
During the tour, there were several restaurants that they brought us for lunch/dinner. I remembered there were at least 2 Chinese buffet restaurants we ate breakfast and lunch and the Cashier won't accept my VISA card. They only accept CASH. Maybe the reason behind that is they know that the majorities are foreigners and it will be a lot easier for them to just take CASH payment instead of credit card.
On our last night, our group was in Boston and we had Lobster Dinner for $28 per person regardless of age. This is actually not part of the itinerary. It should have been dinner at Washington for $14 per person. But anyway, we join the group because I love lobster!
Well, for the $28 lobster dinner you get one whole lobster. And the rest of the food needs to be shared with 7 other people. Each table accommodates 8 people. Other food that came with lobster were stir fry green beans, sea weed soup, chicken, fish, tofu, green vegetable and tea.
In my opinion $28 is a little bit too much for one person especially for my daughter who did not eat very much. Anyway, this lobster dinner is not mandatory. Some people did not join the group dinner. Considering that this restaurant was located in the China Town area you will not have trouble finding other eating place.
Our group was lucky because we didn’t get stuck with Chinese food the whole 6 day trip. We had Subway, Burger King, McDonalds and fresh fruits. We stopped couple of times in a big grocery store as well as dollar store.
*ATTRACTIONS/PLACES WE VISITED*
As I mentioned earlier, you have a choice whether you want to see the actual attraction or you just want to sit in the bus or go for a walk around the area which I think will be a waste of time and money. Since you decided to pay for this trip might as well join the fun!
We enjoyed every single place we visited. But there were couple of places that stick out the most. My daughter's favorite was of course the Hershey Factory trip. It would have been better if we get to see factory workers and real machine working during the actual chocolate production instead of going into a mini train ride where you see three singing cows and some fake chocolate syrup going through tubes after tubes. Well, this is a FREE train ride anyway so I guess it's not that bad after all. Prices for gift souvenirs and chocolates were pretty high compared to regular store.
It surprised me that the Maid of the Mist attraction was the cheapest cruise on the list since this was my favorite. It’s okay to skip the Boston Cruise but not the Maid of the Mist-it’s a one of a kind experience!
We joined all the paid attractions listed and I think they were okay. I don’t want to elaborate on each and every single attraction since every person has different opinion.
At the beginning of our tour, Jason explained to us he will collect service fees for himself and for the bus driver at the last day of our tour. He wanted to make sure that customers/passengers are satisfied with their services before we pay them. This I believe is the RIGHT way of doing it. If tour guides demand for tip/service fee at the beginning of the tour it only shows they’re not professional. You don’t give tip to waiters until you’re done eating or you don’t give tip to a taxi driver until you arrive safe in your destination.
The $3 service fee which you have to pay for your tour guide and driver on a per day basis-per person may add up at the end of the tour. But remember they are rendering their services from 6:45 am until 10:00 pm and so they very well deserve that service fee. I gave those guys extra tip because they played an important role in making this tour such a memorable and wonderful experience.
To all the staff of TakeTours- You did a fantastic job! Thank you very much!
My parents enjoyed this tour. The hotels was good. The extra ticket prices and tips did add to the cost though. Staff was very helpful and friendsly. They helped my dad to find the misplaced camera. I my slef planing a tour with them very soon.
Nice trip... many places to see... nice clean hotels... I wish there was more time at each stop.
Had to wake up early 6a.m. and got to hotels 9-10 p.m. Very tight schedules. Not much time to sleep. But everything else was enjoyable.
The tour is as described in the details and almost all the destinations were covered. tour guide and driver were considerate and pretty informative. Thanks Keensy and Kenny. The schedule is very tight so have a day of rest before getting on to the tour and if possible after the tour finishes before boarding the flight. The hotels were very decent almost all of them 4 star but better to have dinner before arriving to hotel. Take full advantage of free 3rd & 4th seat on buying 2 seats.
Even movies played in the bus, could see Inception, Karate Kid, Legend of the Guardians, Faster ..thanks. positive word of mouth for sure.
It was a great experience. Our tour guide Daniel was very considerate and helpful considering I had couple of seniors and a kid with me. We were fortunate enough to attend the Cherry Blossom too. Daniel and the driver took a few extra stops so that we could enjoy the Cherry Blossoms and a couple of other places. The Hotels were good. The schedule was little tight but that is expected when it covers so many places. Overall, the whole trip was very enjoyable and well placed and I would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks Daniel!!!
I had an excellent experience on this tour. Our tour guides Ivy and Lynn were very good. We went to the right places at right times and really enjoyed each and every moment. They both were extremely helpful. Although most of the tourist were from China, there were few from other countries and preferred vegetarian meals. Most of the stop-overs were at Chinese food places. In future if you could stop at the place where we had other cuisines would be extremely helpful. I also feel you should have a separate tour for shoppers. During the shopping times, you could consider having a tour to places where you would get the cheapest deals.
Reached LGA at around ~5pm. Had to wait for ~40 mins to get picked up by the tour. Apparently due to traffic, but shouldn't the tour operator already factor this into account and wait for us?
Was sent to a hotel (HJ) near Newark airport. This room is old, dusty and does not seem clean.
New York trip was pretty good. Tour guide (Jason) was nice and very patient with all of us. Would've loved to spend more time in certain places and skip others. Intrepid museum was worth it, but Metropolitan was not really worth it in my opinion because the time spent there was very little - insufficient to go through the exhibits to make the entrance fee worth it - in my opinion, this could have been skipped.
Philly and DC tour were pretty good. Although the DC tour was not worth it. Nothing much to see from the river.
Hershey's chocolate world is good. Corning museum is just ok.
Try not to take this tour in winter time. Niagara was not worth a winter trip... Spring, Summer, Fall would've been better. Couldn't take any good night photos in winter, but of course this is all our own choice to take the tour in winter. And the Maid of the Mist is not running as well in winter.
Boston tour was good, but it was just for half a day. In my opinion, this is insufficient. Could have spent more time in MIT or at least bring us to take good photo of famed the Strata Center. Also could've brought us to see more of the Freedom Trail stops.
This was a good introductory tour of the East Coast. Hotel was good for the rest of the tour apart from the first night. Recommended to take just the 5 days and purchase your own hotel for the first night.
Tour guide (Jason) was nice. Quite worth the $3 per day fee charged.
Bus driver #1 (Andy) was nice. He was quiet, but does his job without complaints. Bus driver #2 (Sunny) was not very friendly (From DC onwards). He seemed reluctant to be doing his job. Also does not allow us to bring up soft drink / coffee to the bus. Sometimes we did not have enough time to eat and thus have to bring the food up the bus. If we're not allowed to bring up soft drink / coffee that we purchased with the fast food meal, what are we supposed to drink after our meal? I understand the fear of spilling the drinks, but this could have been handled better by telling us to be careful or telling us properly instead of telling us rudely that we could not bring those up the bus.
The tour was good, according to the planning. Except the trip to Philadelphia and Washington, although the weather had the guilt because our bus was trapped by snow and we couldn't go to Philly and arrived later to DC, the guys in charge of the bus could have been more sagacious and have asked for help earlier. Only one problem, the first night we were accommodated in a room that smelled like tobacco. Supposed that all the rooms in the trip have were for not smokers...
Overall it was a good trip. There were few things we felt, if considered, it would have been better.
1) The total of estimated cost of admissions to the sights should be clearly mentioned. 2) Dinner at Washington D.C and Boston seemed compulsory. People at the restaurant were not ready to provide us with the meal that we requested. They didn't even care to check with us whether we are fine. 3) Our tour guide was ok, she made sure everything is punctual but seemed less friendly.
All the hotel accommodations were really good. As a group our advice to the future groups is that before paying for the admissions (188$ total) make sure where the dinner is going to be and what type of food they will offer you. If you don't like it, please refrain from that particular payment. Make sure you are on time to the bus at all times. It is a very worthwhile trip to take and with reasonable charges. Therefore we enjoyed it and will recommend it to our friends in future.
Admission costs are listed on this tour page, under "Optional Admission Fees". If you have any questions regarding these fees in the future, feel free to give us a call in advance.
My parents and I took this tour and we had fun. Thanks to Justin (our tour guide) who took care of us like family and he was so full of information for all places we visited.
First two days we end up eating nothing because the bus stops only front of Chinese/sea food and we are vegetarian. other than that it was amazing tour.
My parents took this 6 day tour from Sept 1 2010 to Sept 6 2010. Here are few issues
1) Admission fees to various attractions: They were charged more than what was mentioned in your website for senior citizen. For Statue of liberty cruise they were charged $23 person and website shows $21 per person. USS Intrepid they were charged 22 against 20. Metropolitan museum charged 20 against 15. Washington DC cruise charged 22 against 20. The money was collected by tour guide.
2) Instead of asking for tips they demanded service charges $6 per day per person. This money was also given to tour guide
3) Beside above issues, the services provided by the package tour were very satisfactory and professional, which we appreciate. The reception of the guests on first day was excellent as your representative was constantly in touch with us till we check in the hotel. Thanks
The tour was organised in an excellent manner. It was better than I expected before. Thanks goes to Patrick and the driver. Indeed my hotels were very good. I suggest to publish exact hotel details in advance, once ticket is purchased instead on the day of tour. I recommend that everyone take this tour.
Thank you, Ivan, Karen, and Chris. I had a wonderful time on my trip. I am grateful to you for being so good at what you do, and for even taking my picture at times. I will always remember how great it was.
Enjoyed the trip, everything that was promised was delivered and more, good and safe hotels and convenient locations for food and rest stops, very helpful and friendly staff. Most importantly very affordable. I will travel with them anytime again.
