i would like to know the type of restaurant where the bus will stop for food,as we are vegetarians? by ashwini on 2013-08-22
Meals are not included in the tour price but the tour guide will arrange meal stops. Normally the tour stops at shopping plaza or food court where passengers can see a few options and decide their own meals. For breakfast, if the hotel has complimentary service, the tour guide will inform passengers upon check-in.

Read what other travelers think about this tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Positives: Covered a lot of places in a short duration. A very good highlight tour if you are not not traveling with kids (can get hectic). Very good tour guide (Bennie). She made every effort to run the tour as smoothly as possible.
Negatives: The quality of accommodations were VERY VERY POOR. First night, the hotel/motel (Sleep Inn) was VERY basic with uncomfortable and small beds. There was complimentary breakfast but very few basic items in a very small and crowded room. It took them at least 35 minutes from Washington DC to reach the hotel/motel. The second night was even worse. Some no name motel. Smelly rooms, worn out carpet, wall papers in bathrooms, dirty old bath tub whose drain was partially-clogged. There was no complimentary breakfast to we had to cut time from attractions in order to get breakfast.
The bus was old and seats were uncomfortable. Driver was short-tempered and started yelling at fellow passengers for making too much noise.
Recommendation: Keep a minimum quality of hotel even if it means charging $50 more. Complimentary breakfast must be mandatory. It prepares everybody for a full day of hectic schedule. Also, greatly saves time as people could live with a light lunch.
These highlight tours are popular among a lot senior people from India (parents of Indian immigrants). They are usually vegetarian and may not want to eat Chinese buffet. To make their trip comfortable, stop at dinner places that are in big plazas that have other eating options for vegetarian folks (Subway, Panera Bread, etc.) and a food court where they could eat any home made food.
I took 2 tours before, but really this time was a very good trip. Steven speaks very clear and he is very gentle. We learned a lot about cities and their history. This did not happen in previous tours. He is really a guide. If the agency wants to be better in their tours, it really needs guides like Steven.
Hi, I really liked the trip a lot. I wished I could use the toilet at the bus. In 3 days we really got to know more about Washington DC and New York. The driver was excellent and Benny too, our tour guide. Can you have the trip in English/Spanish? This was my first trip and I really enjoyed it. Also, can you offer different buffets for dinner....having 2 nights of Chinese food wasn't the best. You should offer more options to custumers. Thanks :)
This was my first time doing a group trip like this. I travel a lot, but at my own comfort. Overall it was a good experience.. as other reviewers mentioned, there wasn't enough time at each attraction but what would you expect if you want to cover all of this in 3 days. The bus ride was a bit uncomfortable, but the accommodation was really good. I was concerned at first, but then they booked decent hotels. And the food was also fine. They did stop at complexes for Chinese buffet for dinner but there were other options too, if you wanted to eat elsewhere (standard American, Thai food, pizza, Indian, etc.) within the same complex. I found the tour guides responsible too. Managing this many people on a tour and still being patient is not easy. The attraction tickets had to be purchased with them only, which is a bummer because you can find good coupons online sometimes but you are helpless and have to pay the price they quote. Obviously it's business though. Ours was a minibus with 24, people and overall the group was not bad.
I will go on a trip with them next time probably to the Canada one.
Our tour guides were Kerry and Johnson (both spoke Chinese and English) and were nice and friendly!
Hey, it was my first bus trip in United States, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was awesome!! Few points I would quickly like to mention here are:
- It's good that you can quickly cover Washington D.C and New York in three days. If you like some specific places, you can plan to re-visit some other time.
- If you are here in U.S. for a few days, the bus trip is best to explore these places in 3 days.
- Our tour guide was great, he was interactive, coordinated and was explaining about each place nicely.
- You will not get enough time to spend at each attraction, you would always need to hurry up to reach the bus back.
- Food is a big problem. Most of the people were Indians on the bus, but still they stopped at Chinese buffet for dinner on both days. For vegetarians, it's a big issue.
- This trip starts early in the morning and you mostly spend your time sitting in the bus idle. It comes tiring as well as boring. It's like 7-8 hours for Washington from Boston. They should start the bus in night around 10 or 11 pm so that next day morning you have enough time to roam around and get more time at each attraction.
Memories from this tour will last a lifetime. From pick up to drop off, I along with my two children enjoyed every minute. It was well organized, more than I expected and everything was done in a timely manner, and what a tour guide! I will be recommending this tour to all my friends and family. Stephen, the tour guide is a must. I will be booking for Canada next year and will request to be on the tour with Stephen. He is knowledgeable, fun, and talented. He explains everything step by step and made us all feel as though we were one big happy family. He also sang on the way back. The driver, Paul, was also very nice. This trip was long overdue and I can't wait to book my next. Thank you!
Did this tour in June and just loved everything about it. Very well organized and Stephen the tour guide knew the answer to everything and was very friendly. He even sang to us on the way home to Boston. Well done to the driver as well (not sure of his name). Accommodation was comfortable and very clean with breakfast included. Would definitely recommend this trip.
My family and I absolutely enjoyed every bit of this tour. The hotel rooms were excellent! We had a snag with transportation on day 2 which was quickly resolved and didn't affect the number of sites we saw.
Great touring experience. Before, I was skeptical about the quality of this low budget tour. You can see my rating on those criteria, this company deserves them. My mother and I really enjoy this Massachusetts-Washington DC trip. We paid $50 extra for the three Chinese buffets, and one of the places offered unlimited Alaskan King crab, oysters, and clams. Definitely, I will try the other trips with this tour again!
Very well organized and covered many destination places. It would have been impossible to visit all the places within such a short period of time just by ourselves. Hotel accommodation is great. Highly recommended.
This is the chance to visit some of the most beautiful cities of the northeast cost.. Unfortunately they are far from each other. My only suggestion is to make the trip lasts one day more. It's the only way to appreciate all the cities.
The accommodation was awesome: really comfortable bedrooms and international breakfast included.
This tour is suited for foreign (mostly Chinese) visitors. Most of the time the tour guide spoke in both languages. We made three stops to Chinese restaurants. Two of which are at the same place in Washington D.C. The waiter tried to take back my check at add a mysterious 15% "surcharge" on my meal. When I asked what for he changed his mind. There was only myself and my young son...surcharge for what? Kick back to bus company perhaps? I found you needed to be creative- bring snacks, walk a bit or ask the guide what else is around. We did this in D.C. and New York City.
I enjoyed the tour except for Philadelphia. I know the city well. I am aware of the rich history in this city. We arrived after 5:00pm so everything was closed and because of day light savings time is was dark. We only stayed 30 minutes, so disappointing. Then we were off to a weird hotel with the beds located in a loft upstairs. The tub took 6 hours to drain and the toilet overflowed onto the floor.
All that aside I would go again. I would just use them for my accommodations and for driving. I will make my own plans for tours in
BRING CASH TO PAY THE GUIDE FOR TOURS AND FEES.
If you are a foreigner or a visitor from different country then this will be a perfect tour for you. The bus conveniently drops you off at every attraction and you don't have to walk a lot. This tour would also be perfect for elderly people who don't want to walk much. I went with my parents and they loved it. If you are interested in getting to know more details of each attraction then you shouldn't take this tour. The tour guide speaks in Chinese and English. He had a very thick Chinese accent, which could bother some people. Another problem is at least once they will stop for lunch/dinner at a place where you will get only one option "Chinese Buffet". My parents are vegetarian and have huge issues with non-veg smell so it was a problem. So pack extra food for such times. Overall, I would give this tour 3 out of 5.
Our Tour Guide George and bus driver Simon are exceptionally great! Both are polite, knowledgeable, and friendly to accommodate each individuals needs. The group is a combination of visitors from a few countries like China, Italy, India, and Morocco. George, with the assistance of Simon, was able to make all of us like a big family; the atmosphere was very fun, relaxing, and enjoyable. The entire trip was well organized and traveled from point to point comfortably and safely. No wonder at the end of the tour, a lot of people wanted to use the bus microphone to express their appreciation to these two gentlemen. Thanks to Sunshine Travel and your outstanding employees!
You may not get better deal then this! In three days we have visited all the above places listed. We had a great time on this tour. Our guide Jorge was very cooperative and funny. We would be glad to use this service for any future trips.
Jake was an excellent tour guide. He was polite, had a good sense of humor, very knowledge and kept us entertained. The driver was very polite as well, very nice, and the most important he drove safely.
It was planned well. Tour guide was nice and good thing was food options provided other than chinese. Only a stop at baltimore was very much needed. When we go for such tours, it's important to make it to imp spots and a stop at Baltimore was missing. we don't get to go that far often, so such imp spots should not be missed.
Overall fine experience.
Way too much to see in 3 days. I wish they had one trip to Washington, D.C. and one to NYC. The bus didn't have a working bathroom and no outlets. We did get to see many things and made the best of it.
This tour was very nice, it had cover many attractions in just 3 days, I thought it's worth every penny. Tour guide, Ming, was friendly & good at explainning every details, while the driver was nice. I would recommend this tour.
I took the trip last week with my mom. It was really good, the trip was well organized. I think changing the Philadelphia part, a bit more direction around where to go and visit, would have been great. It was a very good trip and I would definitely recommend others to take the trip as well as look forward to future trips.
1. Tour was organized well. 2. Hotel given-Comfort Inn & Holiday Inn was really good; 3. Would appreciate if we were able to walk less in this tour, we were made to walk more to catch bus after sightseeing. 4. Guide was good; 5. Overall it was good experience.
3-day tour was fantastic. All required information about places, visits, hotels and time were adequately informed. I appreciate tour guide Jolin for that. Hotels were good. Although few places has less time to visit, however, I understand limited time we have & too many places to visit. Time arrangement was excellent. Looking forward to travel with you again. Thanks!
I had booked this tour for my relatives who visited us from India. They were very happy with the tour and especially with the tour co-ordinator Joe who was very friendly and accommodating.
They felt more time should be allotted for the National Air and Space museum as 1.5 hours is far too little.
We covered a lot in 3 days. The hotels are nice, and the tour guide, Joe, was very informative. I learned a lot of history on this trip. I will take this tour service again this summer with my friends and family to Canada.
This really was a wonderful experience, and we enjoyed it till the last minute. I'll recommended this trip to all my family and friends. The bus crew was very nice at all times, especially the tour guide... very knowledgeable about U.S history.
The only thing that I'd like to see better is seats on the bus, for a long trip as such they were a little small.
Overall I will recommended this 3 Days tour to anyone.
Covered many attractions within 3 days time. Tour guide George was friendly. I think this tour is ideal for tourists with limited budget and tight schedules. Good hotels rooms were given.
Bottom Line: Good Deal.
Suggestion: Quality of Bus can be increased (Especially Mic/Speaker quality).
I recommend to my friends.
Overall, it was a great trip. I was wondering how could we cover so many attractions in 3 days! But it was all with good itinerary and a proactive guide which made us visit all the intended attractions.
On the negative side, I thought we should have got some more time at Baltimore, i think the National aquarium at Baltimore is a must see place which we missed.
We had a great time on this tour. Our guide Joe Chen was very informative and entertaining. Our bus driver David was very good as well. It was a very stress-free trip and we would be glad to use this service for any future trips.
The tour was great. We got to see so many sites, but I feel like we needed at least an hour more to to see Philly and we needed more time in Baltimore rather than dash to get to the hotels. The hotels were really good and the breakfast free. The tour guide was very friendly and explained a lot. I believe that the facilities in the bus should be improved. Thanks!
This tour is great if you want to see things VERY fast. Its great if you're on a budget or if this is your first time to any of these places. A second trip aside from this tour is definitely needed to really appreciate any of these cities.
Covered so many attractions within 3 days. It's really a good deal. Even though I feel like I wanted to have more time to tour around in Philly and DC, I think this tour is ideal for tourists with limited budget and tight schedules.
