A town once belonging to an ancient civilisation, the museum holds testament to this with 300 pieces of ceramic and stone pieces as well as funeral urns, amongst many other objects, on display. Discover the creatures of the ocean at one of the richest aquariums on the Atlantic Coast. Come and learn about 276 fascinating species of fish at the Mundo Marino aquarium in Santa Marta and end the day with a refreshing dip in the ocean!
You'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the underwater world at Mundo Marino. With expert and knowledgeable guides on hand, you'll learn all about the friendly and not so friendly residents. With 2132 creatures to see, you'll discover the hidden treasures of the ocean, from jellyfish to rays and turtles. There are three sections to the aquarium; you'll be welcomed in at the lobby before heading up to the 2nd section where there are 34 aquariums with 24 different marine atmospheres, including contact tanks for a hands on experience. You then move on to the next section where you can admire the ocean from below through a tunnel, with some of the largest pools in South America.
