Day 1: Athens

Upon arriving at the airport we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. You can enjoy free time until your tour starts. Please, check the informative posters placed at the hotel reception area which have all the information about your upcoming services such as meeting place, time and the guide’s name.

Day 2: Athens

We will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city with a local guide which includes the Presidential Palace, the Panathinaikos stadium where the first modern Olympic games were held, the national library, the bustling squares of the center; the new neighborhoods that emerged after the 2004 Olympic games. The tour will end at the Acropolis site (entry not included). In the evening we include a transfer to the PLAKA quarter, a place full of small Greek taverns where you can also enjoy this country´s folklore.

    One of the oldest cities in the world, Athenian history spans more than three millennia, and served as the foundation for much of modern Western culture. Ancient monuments like the Parthenon have been standing for thousands of years.

    Panathenaic Stadium

    One of the main historic attractions of Athens, it is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896 and was the venue for 4 of the 9 contested sports. It was used for various purposes in the 20th century and was once again used as an Olympic venue in 2004.

    Hadrian's Library

    It was created by Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD 132 on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens. The building followed a typical Roman Forum architectural style, having only one entrance with a propylon of Corinthian order, a high surrounding wall with protruding niches at its long sides, an inner courtyard surrounded by columns and a decorative oblong pool in the middle.

    Syntagma Square

    Named for the Greek Constitution, Syntagma Square is Athens' central public square, located in front of the Old Royal Palace, which currently houses the Greek Parliament. It was constructed in the 19th century.

    Plaka

    The old historical neighborhood of Athens, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. Plaka is built on top of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens. It is known as the "Neighborhood of the Gods" due to its proximity to the Acropolis and its many archaeological sites.

Day 3: Athens - Corinth - Mycenae - Tripoli - Olympia (27208 km)

In the morning, we leave for the Peloponnese region. We make a stop at the Corinth Canal. After this, we have time in the immense fortress of Accra Corinth (entrance included). At the top of the settlement are the foundations of what was a temple to Aphrodite. We go on to Mycenae, a colossal citadel from the eighteenth century BC, the birthplace of the first European civilisation (entrance included). We stop in Tripoli, the provincial capital of a region that produces excellent wines. In the middle of the afternoon, we go on our way to Olympia.

    An ancient city which is located in south-central Greece.

    Corinth Canal

    Although proposed on numerous occasions throughout history (the earliest known being 700 BC), the Corinth Canal wasn't actually built until the late 19th century. Unfortunately, it is too narrow for modern boat traffic and is mostly a tourist attraction today.
  • Mycenae, GREECE

    Mycenae is one of the most important archaeological sites of Greece that was named "Mycenaean" after this very citadel. It is perhaps best known in mythology as the city of Agamemnon, the son of Atreus. King Agamemnon led the expedition against Troy during the Trojan War, which Homer accounted in his epic poem the Iliad.
  • Tripoli, GREECE

    Tripoli was established in the beginning of 14th century and until the end of 19th century it was called Tripolitsa (Ntropolitsa). It is a city known for its important part in the modern history of Greece. Many different invaders such as Venetians and Turks left their marks on the city.

Day 4: Olympia - Patras.- Overnight voyage from Greece to Italy (84 km)

We will visit Olympia archeological site with a local guide. You will have a chance to visit its museum and archeological site (ticket included) which the cradle of the Olympic games in ancient times. After this, we cross the mountainous interior of the Peloponnese. We continue to Patras; we include tickets to its powerful castle built in the 6th century; time for lunch.

At 17.30 (the time may change) we board a very modern ferry, much more like a cruiser. The ship sails along the Greek coast, passing the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia and making a stop at Igumenitsa. Accommodation in double cabins with bathroom.

Notes: Sometimes, due to the weather, the servicing of the ship or changes in times, strikes, or if the ferry is full, we might take a different ferry from Igumenitsa or travel to Rome by plane. Breakfast on the ferry not included.

    A small town in Elis on the Peloponnese peninsula in Greece, famous for the nearby archaeological site of the same name, which was a major Panhellenic religious sanctuary of ancient Greece, where the ancient Olympic Games were held.

    Archaeological Museum of Olympia

    The museum houses discoveries from the surrounding area, including the site of the Ancient Olympic Games. The collection includes objects produced and used in the area from prehistory to its time under Roman rule. The principal pieces in the museum are Hermes and the Infant Dionysus. The extent of its bronze collection makes it one of the most important in the world.
  • Peloponnese, GREECE

    Peloponnese, a peninsula and southern region of Greece, played a major role in the Greek War of Independence. Visitors enjoy historical and archeological sites like Olympia, as well as churches, castles, and natural surroundings of mountains, beaches, caves, and more.

Day 5: Ancona- Loreto - Rome (207 km)

Morning resting on board on our journey through the Adriatic. Arrival in Ancona scheduled at 14 hrs., disembarkation and continuation to Loreto, time to visit the sanctuary of the Holy House, the house of the Virgin Mary, and to tour its beautiful medieval town. After that we cross the Apennines amidst beautiful countryside in the Abruzzos region. Rome -Arrival at the end of the day.

    A city and a seaport in the Marche region in central Italy. Mail sights include Ancona Cathedral which dedicated to Judas Cyriacus, was consecrated at the beginning of the 11th century and completed in 1189.

Day 6: Rome (7 km)

In the morning, we will have a scenic tour of Rome. We will enter the tiny state of the Vatican, visit St. Peter's Basilica, Roman Colosseum. In the evening we will transfer to the Trastevere area for a stroll in the narrow cobbled streets of the district with hidden treasures, such as some modest medieval churches, small shops with the most peculiar of objects or scenes of daily life. Many trattorias (informal Italian eating establishments) and osterias (inns) imbued with the Italian spirit will be ready to serve you local dishes. Other restaurants serving Indian, Chinese and international food can be found in this area. Return to hotel.

Day 7: Rome - Florence (230 km)

We will leave Rome for Florence. This route is graced with beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival in Florence, we will head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo. In the evening we will have a tour with a local expert, and walk through the historic centre, taking in places such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria. Free time to explore. In the evening, you can dine at your favorite restaurant. In this district you can find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food.

    The Ponte Veccio is a Medieval stone bridge over the Arno River in Florence. The bridge is lined by shops, something that was typical at the time of its construction in 1345; they are mostly artists and souvenir vendors.

    Piazza della Signoria

    The Piazza della Signoria features many can't-miss Florentine buildings. The Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's massive fortress of a town hall, towers above. The Loggia dei Lanzi is a beautiful piece of Renaissance architecture, bedecked with bronze and marble sculptures.

    Tuscan Dinner

    In this opportunity, you will have the chance to make a magnificent dinner in a Tuscan atmosphere. A group of musicians will set this beautiful evening. We can taste the typical products of the region. During dinner we can also enjoy live music, a pianist singer from Fiorentino will perform national and international pieces of music.

Day 8: Florence - Venice (203 km)

Today we enjoy stunning mountain landscapes while crossing the Apennine Mountains. We will arrive in Venice and take the boat and cross the Giudecca to the Island of Venice. With a local guide, we will visit the St. Mark's Square and enter the Basilica.Afterwards, we will visit the Murano glass factory. At the end of the afternoon, we will have the chance to enjoy own free time or eat dinner in the Mestre district, where you can choose the type of restaurant that you prefer (Indian, Oriental, Italian, etc.).

Day 9: Venice-Innsbruck-Zurich (430 km)

We will depart from Venice, travelling to Austria. Arrival to INNSBRUCK, time to stroll in the historic centre and have lunch. Then, we will continue our journey through wonderful Tyrolean sceneries crossing towards Switzerland. Arrival in ZURICH. Free time in the historic centre next to the lake, where you will be able to dine in your chosen restaurant serving Italian, Indian, Chinese, international or Swiss food.

    Located in the Inn valley, lies about halfway between Munich in Germany and Verona in Italy. It is an internationally renowned winter sports center, and hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics as well as the 1984 and 1988 Winter Paralympics.
  • Zurich, SWITZERLAND

    Sitting on the northwestern tip of Lake Zurich, this city is the largest in Switzerland. The Bahnhofstrasse ("Station Street") is an important landmark as one of the world's most expensive shopping areas.

Day 10: Zurich - Grindelwald - Lucerne - Zurich (183 km)

Today we will see beautiful landscapes with high mountains and lakes in the region of Interlaken. We will stop in Grinderwald where we will have time for a coffee before taking the cable car up to mountain. We will walk along the winding path which will lead us to the "footbridge over the empty". Dare to walk along the bridge amongst the fantastic scenery enjoying glaciers all around us. We will have a lunch up the mountain before heading back down. We will then continue to Lucerne. In the evening we will have time to stroll around, enjoying the city and taking dinner before we return to the hotel in Zurich

We come into contact with the history of France in the immense Palace of Versailles (admission not included) with its beautiful gardens. After that, on our way back to Paris, we head to Montmartre, and take a cable car (included) to go up to this bohemian neighborhood known for its painters, artists and cabarets. To contemplate the beauty of the impressive avenues and monuments of Paris, you will have the city tour with a local guide. Return to the hotel. Optionally you can attend the variety show.​

We will have a scenic guided tour of Paris. We will have the opportunity to climb up to the second floor of Eiffel Tower and take a boat cruise along the River Seine. We will enjoy a free afternoon.

Note: Sometimes queues to climb the Eiffel Tower are long. For organizational reasons, if deemed appropriate, the climb can be made at a different moment of the day.

    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office.   • All cancellations or changes of date must comply with the following details: (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within or more than 31 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    10% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 30 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    25% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 10 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    35% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 3 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    Absolutely NO refund on all cancellations or postponements within 1 day prior to departure (not including departure date).
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
