Depart from Megiddo, we drive on to Bet Shean, including a well-preserved amphitheater, hippodrome, cardo and more. Then we will head through the Jordan Valley. We will stop at the Yardenit, known as the Baptismal site on the Jordan River. Continuing into the Golan Heights, stopping at Hammat Gader for an overview of the triangular border with Syria, Jordan and Israel on route to the Shalom Observatory. We then proceed to the city of Katzrin, the Talmudic capital of the Golan, where we visit the archeological remains of the ancient village including the 6th century synagogue, constructed entirely from Bazalt. After that we will ascend the Mount Bental, elevated 1,170 meters above sea level. We then shortly visit former Syrian fortifications before descending to the Hula Valley for an overnight stay at a Kibbutz hotel.
