It was okay. The tour guide needs more training on professionalism.

We booked this tour on July 13th to July 14th. The tour guy name Alfred was very impolite and unprofessonal with us. Doing service and as a tour guy, he should not have this kind of behavior with customers. We've booked many tours on this site before and all ended with great experiences. Sorry that I have to write this review but beware.
Hello, We are very happy to go to Boston and very nice service. Unlike another company that drove us to Niagara Fals, it looked completely different now.
We recommend ordering tours on the TakeTours website.
Greetings from tourists from Poland
The tour guide Amber was good and kind .
The tour was planned well
The Bus driver reached all places on time .
A little delay in the morning but all was fine .
The Experience was pretty good. Rachel was our tours guide and she was very nice.
The places were perfect
We did not like the way to the driver drove. He was to much faster and with no care about the passengers.
MLK weekend to Boston. Despite the weather my kids and i had a wonder time. Our tour guide Jessica was awesome she made it easy for us to manage the weather and give us enough time. She had such a wonderful personality her English was also excellent and did not leave us English speaking guest out. The roads was really bad because of the snow, compliments also to our driver that trip he was amazing making sure our safety was first. This is my 6th Tour so i know from experience how different each tour can be. so thank you to Jessica and our driver for making our Boston experience memorable. I''l be sure to book my next trip soon.
Itinerary was very good for 2 days tour and affordable. Our tour guide, Kim, was organized and kind. this was Chinese/ English guide and majority our tourists was Chinese. most attractions were well selected.
The Breakers Mansion was beautiful and ocean view was fantastic.
Boston duck tour was new experience as it was for both, land and water.
Quincy market lobster meal was delicious. Hotel was clean. Harvard tour was educational, Yale tour guide was not organized and kept forgetting to explaining in English. Overall , the tour was great and recommend this to a friend.
Overall, it was a pleasant weekend trip. Getting on the shuttle from Flushing was a bit disorganized and chaotic. I got to flushing at 6:20, and the shuttle bus came at around 6:50. A lot of waiting around for the actual tour bus to get to Chinatown as well. Check-in time was 7:40 and then the bus arrived at around 8:10. My original seat was the last row on the bus and the window was covered with white residue, and water filled the inside of the window halfway. There was also a mushroom growing on the crack of the bathroom door. Fortunately, there were empty seats so I was able to switch to a window seat in the middle of the bus. There are USB ports overhead to charge your phone, but mine weren't working. Thankfully, I had my portable charger. No WIFI, I believe. After getting settled into the bus, the trip turned out to be more organized. You are not allowed to use the bathroom on the bus, but we made plenty of rest stops along the way for bathroom/food. You pay up front for the optional excursions you'd like to participate in, in addition to a mandatory $20 service gratuity for the driver/guide - this is standard for any tour you go on. The total came out to be $165 for me. The Museum of Science was not offered. I participated in every optional excursion, except the lobster meal. I went to Quincy Market instead and got a nice plate of raw shellfish, a lobster bisque and a glass of wine for about $33+tip. I also purchased an arancini in case I got hungry at the hotel, as well as a cheese danish to eat for breakfast. The hotel was not bad. My room had a microwave, fridge, iron, hair dryer, standard toiletries. I preferred the activities on the first day - the Breakers Mansion, NE Aquarium, Duck Tour. I would've liked a bit more time to spend at the mansion/aquarium, an hour just didn't feel like enough. The second day comprised of the university tours, which I wasn't very interested in to begin with but also didn't think it was worth the $10+ dollars. The Boston Harbor cruise was nice. Bus can get cold so bring a sweater/jacket on with you. Drop off at Flushing is a different location than pickup, so plan ahead for that. Drop off time was a little before 5:30. Eric was a great tour guide, very accessible through text or in person for questions.
The tour guide was a bit scrambled and it was rainy but me & my wife had fun we have some tips for travelers buy breakfast the night before try getting some croissants or something non-perishable and stay hydrated also check forecast and pack appropriate shoes for the weather also don't pack heavy just take essentials because you have to carry all that stuff to your room after all and most of all have fun, vacations are meant to take you away from everyday surroundings so look around and enjoy the time be prepared and you will love it!
Bus #1771
2 Day Boston Rhode Island
Day 1
The trip started off with an employee picking us up from 39-10 Main street in Flushing, New York in front of the HSBC bank at 6:30am. The person actually didn't get there until about 6:40am, but that’s cool. We were taken to 177 Canal street in Brooklyn, NY. The bus left Brooklyn at about 8:15am and we were headed to our first attraction, but before the attraction we stopped at a rest area to get a quick 45 minute bathroom break and food. The rest area was clean, (the rumors are true no one is permitted to use the bathroom on the bus). There was McDonald's, Subways, and Dunkn Donuts to choose from. After about 45 minutes we were headed to Rhode Island to The Breakers Mansion.
Our tour guide Rachel (very nice and organized person, her English is perfect) mentioned the itinerary and the attractions we were going to see on the 2 day tour. Among the mentioned attractions 2 most important attractions that were on the website when I booked this trip were not mentioned. That was the museum of science and the Quincy Marketplace. It's not Rachel's fault, it's the taketours.com owner's fault. They do not update their website to explain/reflect that some of the attractions are dependent upon the weather conditions or they forget to remove older attractions that were not going to be on the current trip. So double check with the company before you book.
The main reason my son wanted to go on this trip was to do the Harbor Boat Cruise and to go to one of the most talked about museums in Massachusetts which is the museum of science. The purpose of me booking this trip was to explore that museum and the Quincy Marketplace area. My children and I ended up going to the Marketplace 2xs on our own while the other tourist went to activities we opted out of.
On to the annoying part of this trip. Long story short. This old Chinese lady just didn't know how to say sorry or excuse me and she bumped my son. This lady had a habit of pushing and rushing. Rachel spoke to the lady and told her to please keep her distance from my family.
Attractions: You can read my detailed reviews on the individual attractions on my yelp reviews dated 8/18/18 and 8/19/18
1)The Breakers Mansion we toured for about an hour. Without using the devices 1 hour would be more than enough time.
2) New England Aquarium: The 2 hours was more than what we needed to explore the Aquarium. After about an hour of exploring we decided to leave and walk to the marketplace which was only a 3 to 5 minute walk from the aquarium.
Our fellow bus riders headed to the $35 a person lobster dinner at about 7:30pm and we headed back to the marketplace to watch the free street performances and shop for 1 hour.
About 9:15pm we arrived at the Holiday Inn. It was only about 30 minutes drive from the marketplace. It was clean, had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker. Wasn't as bad as I had thought. I brought my own pillowcases and wash items.
Day 2
Headed out at 6:10am. FYI bring a sweater the bus gets chilly.
First stop Harvard at about 7am for an in-depth guided tour.
Second stop MIT arrived about 8:20am and left about 8:45am it is a self guided experience and it's free as well.
Third stop was at 9:15am until 10:15am and that was the Harbor Cruise. That was worth every nickel. Just being able to sit was priceless. It's a tour so of course the crew member was talking about the history of the Harbor which was cool. She spoke in-depth about the Boston Tea Party...
Fourth stop was Connecticut, Yale which I paid for a guided tour. Started about 1:40am until 3pm. It's optional as well. I paid because my son wants to attend a Yale (he’s 10). Never to early to start thinking. Remember look carefully, there are some trips that state attractions are (mandatory) and some trips with attractions that states it is (optional).
Rest Area heading back home to NYC we stopped for 15 minutes.
My only gripe is that the bus dropped us off between Northern and Main street instead of the original drop off and pick up location which was supposed to be 39-10 Main street Flushing. The drivers 2 children ages 8 and 15 were on the bus so I'm guessing it was so they'd be closer to take the bus home alone. In all fairness it was easier for people to get to the bus from here. However, unfair to my children and I because we had to wait over 15 minutes for my husband to come get us because he was waiting at the original location then got stuck in traffic coming to the new drop off location.
I am glad i chose this 2 days Boston trip last week with my family. We had a great time on this tour. They covered the attractions as mentioned. Hotels are standard 3 star hotels. They provided us with pick up & drops as well, Our tour guide Harvey was professional & knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this tour to everyone.
My 2-Days Bus Tour to Boston and Rhode with Take Tours was a wonderful expereince. Newport Breakers Mansion tour was really good and the ocean view from the backyard was simply superb... so beautiful.
The Campus Tours to Historicl Yale and Boston University alongwith Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT - Millionaires in Training) was every informational and architecture and design of the buildings was simply pheneonemal.
My highlight was the Boston world famous Duck Tour (Amphibious landing vehicles - unique ways to tour boston city by land and sea.) and Harbor Cruise! (Boston Harbor Cruises offer a unique view of a town bathed in history both national and natural.)
The Boston Aquarium(New England Aquarium) is good but not what I was expecting though nice to be there.
The Quincy Market has a big food court and a good place to go shopping.
The hotel was good with 2 large beds in one room. We had a lot of attraction and very little time since it was only for 2 days. Even though, it was very well organized.
I also like to mention that our tour guide John and Wang was wonderful and very knowledgeable.
You must put this trip on your list for your next vacation. Worth every penny!
My 2-Days to Boston and Rhode Island trip with Take Tours was another wonderful adventure for me . I enjoyed the Newport Breakers tour Mansion which took me back in a time machine
of the 1800's where Elegance and Beauty was the life style of the rich and famous . The Breakers Ocean view of the Mansion is to died for. The Lobster Dinner feast was delicious and Distinct. The School of Technology where knowledge and Invention for our future begins was every educational as well. The Science Museum was also fascinating.
The Boston Aquarium is where I experience my first time touching a stingray. The Quincy Market was a good place to go shopping. Harvard and Yale University was very different in architecture and design
Harvard University was colonial and Yale was more a Cathedral design. Both University played important part in American History. Again I have to mention the trip was enjoyable, relaxing very educational as well. You must put this trip on your list for your next vacation.
I also like to mention that our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable about each tour. Edna from the Bronx.
The tour was very disciplined and on-time. Every person joining the tour was very concerned about tight time limits at different attractions; and it really helped the whole group to attend multiple places on time. Eric being a guide was fantastic and very well planned. The hotel stay was @ Days Inn and it was really nice. Even breakfast was arranged for our group especially. All over, Boston trip was eventful and awesome!! Many more trips to do with TakeTours!
Always dreaming about go to visit Boston city, try famous Lobster roll, i like the sight seeing Cruise is the best , learning lots of history from the guide. Our tour guide Vivian Li ,she is very friendly and knowledge, had a good time , I will recommend my friends to this tour. Hope could see you again Vivi .
It was my first time to Boston and I'm glad I was with a nice tour operator. The trip was well organized and the service was good. I will definitely recommend to my friends.
Loved every second of the tour! The hotel was great. Our tour guide (Rachel) was caring, amiable and informative. Worth every penny, though I opted out of the lobster dinner, just had a walk around instead and ate at a Chinese hotpot restaurant
Loved every second of the tour! The hotel was very comfortable with 2 large beds in one room. The guide was amiable, informative and well-timed for different events. I definitely would recommend the Boston Harbor Cruise, a visit to Yale University, Harvard, MIT, The Aquarium, and the lobster roll from Quincy Market. Worth every penny! It will be worth your time and dedication. One last thing, don't forget to bring a HD camera/phone with you. The pictures you take will be kept for the ages.
Boston is my favorite city and I'm glad I take this tour with eworld because I had a great time during this trip. The tour guide is professional and knowledgeable. She introduced a lot about the attractions and I will recommend it to my friends.
This trip is a very rushy trip however, I enjoyed it very much. We have a lot of attraction and very little time since is only 2 days. Even so, it is very organized and our tour guide is excellent. My highlight is the Quicy market , boston duck tour and harbor cruise!
Wonderful trip, very good service & organized. Tour guide was very good.
I would definitely recommend to my friends and also would love to go for another tour with your company soon.
So, for starters the bus was on time at the pick up location in Chinatown NY and in general, everything has a strict schedule that is always respected. The guide reminds everyone to go to the bathroom prior departure and after every stop so everything goes smoother.
Maybe it was only in my bus, but the speakers weren't very good and it was very hard to listen to the guide in the back rows, the tour was given in English and in Mandarin.
Although in this page it says that the activities are optional, everyone is highly suggested to take them, so the price of all them combined is 150 USD, 185 if you want to include the lobster dinner in the tour.
The hotel accommodation was extraordinary, a very comfortable room in the Holiday Inn(Did not include breakfast), congratulations in that matter. Most of the stops were definitely worth it, the one I liked the least was the Harbor thing, although it was fine.
I highly recommend this tour, almost everything was perfect.
This is my first time in Boston and first time to see Harvard University.the view is beautiful and gorgeous. The whole tour is very smooth and educated.Very much appreciated for the operating company and also TakeTours, and thanks to the professional staff, totally worth it ,I would definitely recommend the tour to my family and friends.
I recommend this tour!
I took this tour on Sept 3rd and 4th,2016. Our tour guide was Yuki.
She was friendly and very good in her job. We started from New York on time in early morning. In spite of being struck in traffic jam in NY for good amount of time (probably due to long weekend) we managed to cover all the attractions and return on time, due to her meticulously planned itinerary. We stayed for one night in Holiday Inn that was also very good.
This only bad thing about the tour was I boarded the shuttle from Edison to NY. While returning we came back in evening by 6:30 pm in NY. And I need to wait for another 1 hour at the stop to catch shuttle bus from NY to Edison.
I highly recommend this tour. It was very well organised and we could see many interesting places. The tour guide Lay was wonderful. The hotel was very good! It was a great experience.
We had the pleasure of taking this trip with Cora Chen as our tour guide. She was awesome! The trip was simply fantastic with the various stops well spaced and ample time provided to go enjoy the sights.
Loved every minute of the tour! The hotel was great with the complimentary breakfast. The guide was caring and informative. Worth every penny, though we opted out of the lobster dinner, just had a walk around instead and ate somewhere else.
Wonderful trip, very good service & organized. I have used this service before- two times, planning to do in future too. They covered all the places as mentioned in the packages. Kids enjoyed the aquarium, and we all liked Breakers Mansion so much. It's too good and a must visit. Hotel was pretty decent and a good one.
Hi all. Boston Trip, 2 days. Our pick up point was Edison, NJ 6:30AM, but bus came 1 hour late.
The hotel accommodation was excellent. In bus, restroom was not working. Apart from us 3 rows was not able to see outside because bus glass was having problem. Guide was excellent.
Not able to see Quincy Market because allocated time was a lot less. Drop off facility to Edison, NJ was very excellent. Nice Trip.
This 2 day Boston and Rhode island trip was pretty good. All locations as mentioned in the itinerary were covered. Hotel stay was nice. Breakers Mansion was nice. We had a good time in the Quincy Market with a lot of shops and restaurants. The lobster dinner was good but a bit expensive. Overall pretty satisfied and would recommend this tour.
Hi all. I took the 2 days Boston Trip. It was very nice and pleasant. We had a really wonderful time. The hotel accommodation was very nice. The guide was great. Nice Trip.
My cousin and I had a great time visiting Boston and Rhode island. Hotel was nice and decent. It was better than I expected. I highly recommend this tour.
Trip was overall okay. Attractions promised were covered. There were a few disappointments such as the Boston Harbor Cruise having audio guide but it was in Chinese. So we were clueless what was being told about the historical facts of Boston. Coming to the attraction, our guide, Ricky, could have handled the time allotment for each of the venues. Breakers Mansion should have been given at least 1 1/2 hours, but we had to rush within 45 minutes, which I feel was not enough at all. We also reached MIT only in late night, so we just had to visit it from outside for namesake. Overall the trip was okay, highlight of the trip was the stay in Hilton :) It was awesome!
A memorable day in my life. Mystic Aquarium and Boston Harbor Cruise were my best. The tour guide Jasmine was lovely, caring and knowledgeable. My fellow tourists were wonderful as well as the driver. I will go back there sometime. Amazing!
Nice tour
down sides: if you plan on seeing Boston deeply, this is not a tour for you. we only spent 1 hour on Saturday evening (while people were having the lobster dinner) and then 1 hour on Sunday morning.
Yale, Harvard and MIT Universities are very interesting.
The aquarium is frankly not worth it unless you have a kid travelling with you.
The breaker's mansion is lovely, we didn't spend enough time in there though..
Overall good tour, and price.
overall a good tour, the only problem was that the bus does not had a rest room, ignoring that it was a good tour. breakers mention was good, boston cruise was good too.
Lot places to visit in 2 days time. Tour operator should know the issue in Seat allotment. I have to seat in back side and my family was in front side for 2 hour. Also tour guide was explaining major things in chineese. he should also explain in english. but overall good experience.
We had a wonderful trip. Our Tour guide was Sadrina she was very informative about all the area towns, cities and monuements we even drove by. The sites in Boston were very nice. Would not recommend spending money on Lobster Diner we didn't not a nice restaurant. Hotel was nice and clean. Bus was clean but a bit old. Driver was courteous and got us to all sites on time. Overall very satisfied. Please note that the listed optional tickets are your option to buy. Some people on our tour were shocked to be asked for to pay for the entry fees for sites. Make sure you take out cash prior to going on your trip. Quincy market had Harvard shirts for much better price. this was second trip will definitely take another one soon.
i just went back from this tour from last wed. the tour was so relax, the tour guide control the schedule so well. i love it. i suggest people can try it.
This was my first time traveling with this company and I was very impressed with their service. Our guides Holly and Crystal were good... The hotel was good.... Overall, I really enjoyed myself....
My family and I cannot stop talking about the fun we had on this two-day tour. Our tour guide, Da( I hope I have the name spelled correctly), could not have been more friendly and professional. He conducted the tour in both Chinese and English, expertly and flawlessly. Both he and our driver were uncommonly kind and considerate. Da even surprised our six-year old granddaughter with a magnificent lobster, boxed as a present, for her upcoming birthday. She was overjoyed at this experience and will never forget it. We absolutely loved the dinner in Boston. In fact, we treasure the wonderful people we met on this tour. We experienced so much in just a couple of days that is all so difficult to put into words how much fun this tour was. We would not hesitate to take this tour again, and perhaps elect this time to fly back to San Antonio from Boston, instead of returning back to New York. You will not be disappointed if you join this tour.
This tour was the best. Our tour guide, a young man named Jaeson was excellent. He was very intelligent in explaining every details. He is also very nice to passengers. Foods are good, accommodation was excellent. Thanks again Jaeson...
We had expected a more from this trip given the general good reviews.however, we found it was way less on susbstance compared to the money we spent.we got to spend less than half a day looking around boston. Trinity church was done in a huff and only 2hrs spent at quincy market. Luckily we didnt have the lobster dinner that is chinese style. it costed 30$ per head. instead we had dinner at a chinese restaurant nearby whr 2 of us dined for $30 in all.The tkt price of breaker's mansion is 21$ per head and they let us spend less than an hr thr. Our prime attraction for this trip was boston and we didnt get. 2 spend more time thr. I think they can have a trip dedicated to boston only whr the prime attraction of boston can be well covered. The hotel that we stayed in was ok. Thr was a dearth of water bottles in the vending machines. The towels were not too clean. The bus was super comfortable.
Had a wonderful time. Would of liked more time in Quincy Market. We were not aware that it was a bilingual trip. The harbor cruise was in Chinese, therefor did not understand the sites. The hotel was excellent, very clean.
It was a perfect vacation for me and my wife. Excellent itinerary, very nice guide, good hotel. I loved the trip and would like to go on many more trips with "GoToBus".
Everything was fine. The hotel was a little bit disappointed me though. I mean I used to go to another trip and the hotel was better. Other than that it was fine.
