Day 1: Lisbon

On arrival at the Lisbon airport we will transfer to hotel. You can enjoy free time until your tour starts, information about the meeting place and start time can be found on the information boards in the hotel reception area.

    Sintra Cascais and Estoril

    Enjoy the landscapes of the Tagus estuary, the famous Costa del Sol. Stop at the wonderful city of Sintra, immortalised by Lord Byron, and enjoy its microclimate and its many palaces and summer homes. Continue to the famous Guincho beach where you will see the westernmost point in Europe, the Cabo da Roca, and stop in the beautiful city of Cascais. Afterwards, have a brief stop in Estoril with its famous casino.

Day 2: Lisbon

In the morning we will have a sightseeing tour with a local guide (note: ex­planations may be given by our guide if the group has fewer than twelve people) . We will visit Belem district, Monument of Discoveries, Belem Tower and Jeronimos Monastery. We will enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore the city independently. In the late afternoon, we will transfer to the Restauradores Square, a public square with restaurants and cafes. We suggest you ride the Elevador Da Gloria funicular that will take you to the viewpoint of San Pedro with beautiful views over Lisbon and the Bairro Alto. Return to the hotel.

    This fortified tower off the coast of Lisbon, also known as the Tower of St. Vincent, was built to defend the city in the 16th century. It was built in the Portuguese Manueline style of architecture of the 16th century.

    Monument of Discoveries

    This monument is located at the mouth of Lisbon harbor, commemorating the age of exploration, when ships bound for the American continents in the west would pass through the Tagus estuary.

    Jeronimos Monastery

    Jeronimos Monastery
    The Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon was once the home of the city's Hieronymite religious order, and one of the best examples of the Portuguese Manueline style of architecture. Today, the facility houses the National Archaeology Museum and the Marine Museum.

    Restauradores Square

    Dedicated to the restoration of Portugal's independence in 1640, this public square in Lisbon feature the Monument to the Restorers, a large obelisk, in its center. It is surrounded by several famous buildings, like the Art Deco Eden Cinema.

Day 3: Lisbon - Fatima - Madrid (538 km)

Today we will travel to the north of Portugal and visit Fatima, an important sanctuary. We will continue on our way through the green lands of the centre, passing into Spain and cross the North of Extremadura. After lunch we will continue to Madrid, arriving at the end of the day. Then we will transfer to Plaza Mayor where we could enjoy at some typical taverns.

Day 4: Madrid City Tour

We will have a comprehensive tour through the centre of Madrid including Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, the Gate of Alcala, Plaza de Colon and Plaza Mayor. We will visit Retiro Park, where we will see the lake and the Glass Palace. Admission to Las Ventas Bullring included. At sunset we will provide a transfer to Plaza de Oriente, opposite the Royal Palace, an elegant and bustling area with many restaurants serving different exquisite cuisines (Indian, Middle Eastern, Muslim, Spanish, International) in which to enjoy a pleasant dinner. Return to hotel.

    The centerpiece of the plaza that bears the same name, the Fountain of Cibeles features a statue of an ancient Phrygian goddess sitting atop a lion-drawn chariot, who has been adopted as a symbol of the city of Madrid.

    Puerta de Alcala

    This monument is designed in the neo-Classical style, and stands near Madrid's city center, reminiscent of the old medieval gates to the city, although this gate stands alone.

    Plaza de Colon

    The plaza, originally called Plaza de Santiago (St. James Square), was renamed Plaza de Colon in 1893 to honor Christopher Columbus.

    The Plaza Mayor is a major public space in the heart of Madrid, the capital of Spain. It was once the centre of Old Madrid.     El Retiro Park

    A large park covering over 125 hectares with more than 15,000 trees. It has a large artificial lake, a Glass Palace used as exhibition halls by the Reina Sofia Museum.

    Las Ventas

    Las Ventas is considered the home of bullfighting in Spain, constructed in 1929 after the sport had risen to high prominence. In addition to bullfighting, the venue also plays host to tennis matches and live concerts, such as Radiohead.

    Plaza de Oriente

    A rectangular square in the historic centre of Madrid, Spain located between some important landmarks: To the west is the Royal Palace, the Royal Theatre to the east, and to the north is the Royal Monastery of the Incarnation.

    Flamenco Night with Dinner

    Singers attending one of the most attractive shows that you can see in Spain. A flamenco picture composed of singers, dancers, guitarists and percussionists who make a wonderful journey through the different flamenco styles: bulerías, seguidillas, fandangos, alegrías and sevillanas. All accompanied by a delicate dinner with Spanish products in an incomparable setting.

Day 5: Madrid - Zaragoza - Catalonia - Barcelona (598 km)

In the morning we will leave for Aragon over the lands of Castile. In Zaragoza, we will stop briefly to see the Pilar Basilica. We will then continue to the Monastery of Poblet, surrounded by its walls in a beautiful site that is one of the best-preserved medieval monasteries in the world (entrance and guided tour included) . Then we will proceed to the Monastery of Montserrat where you will go up the mountain on a rack train to see its fantastic scenery. Following this we will continue to Barcelona, arriving in the late afternoon. 

Important note: in the winter months, from November to March, due to the shorter days, the Monastery of Poblet will not be visited (so that we can reach Montserrat in the daylight).

    Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar

    This massive basilica in Zaragoza is, accroding to legend, the first church dedicated to the Virgin Mary, with the original chapel said to be built in 44 BCE. It has been rebuilt numerous times and is now baroque in style.

    Monastery of Poblet

    The Royal Abbey of Santa Maria de Poblet is a Cistercian monastery founded in 1151, located at the foot of the Prades Mountains. It was founded by Cistercian monks from France on lands conquered from the Moors. The main architect was Arnau Bargues.

    Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey

    The monastery was founded in the 11th century and rebuilt between the 19th and 20th centuries which is located on the mountain of Montserrat. It is famous for enshrining the image of the Virgin of Montserrat.

Day 6: Barcelona

Today we will have an informative city tour. We will also visit the city's historic central area with its Gothic neighborhood dating back to the Middle Ages. We will visit the area where the Olympic Games took place. It will be possible to see and photograph La Sagrada Familia basilica; the masterpiece designed by the architect Gaudí. Then we will visit Poble Espanyol. We will then have some free time to explore the city at our own leisure. In the evening we provide transfer to Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya area, where you can select from a great variety of restaurants (including Indian, Chinese, Halal, International and regional Spanish cuisine). Return to hotel.

    La Rambla

    This centrally-located street in Barcelona is a tree-lined pedestrian walkway that covers 1.2 kilometers from the port to Place de Catalunya. There are many cafes and shopping kiosks along the street, which can get crowded during the busy tourist seasons.

    Placa de Catalunya is a square and cultural hub in Barcelona and is well known for its iconic fountain and the Francesc Macia monument, as well as its proximity to many of Barcelona's most popular attractions. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of local cafes, restaurants, and theatres.

Day 7: Barcelona-Paris (1038 km)

We will travel on a high-speed train to Paris. (Note: A guide will only travel on the train ride if the group is over 15 passengers.) The train is quite comfortable and it is an enjoyable trip through wonderful landscapes. The train journey will take 6.5 hours. After arrival in Paris, we will transfer to the hotel.

Day 8: Paris-Versailles-Paris (34 km)

Early in the morning, we will leave for Versailles, the immense palace of the kings of France. After that, we will return to Paris at lunch time where we provide a transfer to the Montmartre district. We will ascend by funicular to the hill and admire the spectacular view of Paris from the top. This neighbourhood is known for its painters, artists, and its cabarets… Sit down for lunch and enjoy a magical atmosphere. Then, a scenic guided tour to discover the history, main boulevards and the breathtaking monuments of Paris will take place. Return to hotel.

    118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within or more than 31 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    10% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 30 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    25% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 10 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    35% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 3 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    Absolutely NO refund on all cancellations or postponements within 1 day prior to departure (not including departure date).
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your account. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
