Day 1: San Francisco - Monterey (86 miles)

We will depart from San Francisco on California Highway 1 (SR 1) to Monterey. We will have short rest and coffee break in Davenport. In the afternoon we will have free time to explore Cannery Row, shops, restaurants and old Fisherman's Wharf and visit Monterey Bay Aquarium (optional).

    California State Route 1

    Running along the northern California coast, Route 1 is a major north-south state highway and offers travelers breathtaking vistas and ocean views of the Pacific Ocean coastline.

    Cannery Row

    This street made famous by the John Steinbeck novel of the same name was once the center of Monterey's fishing industry. Today, it is a tourist attraction and conservation area home to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and many seal lions.

    Monterey Bay Aquarium

    This large aquarium in Monterey, California is home to some of the world's largest and most unique exhibits. It was both the first aquarium to successfully keep a great white shark and cultivate a kelp forest for show.

Day 2: Monterey - Carmel - San Francisco (127 miles)

Today we will tour Pacific Grove and the 17-mile Drive, see the golf course of Pebble Beach, seaside mansions, Bird Rock and the much-photographed Lone Cypress Tree. We will then visit the town of Carmel. We'll have time to take a short excursion to experience the historic Mission San Carlos Borromeo. Late in the afternoon, we will start our journey back to San Francisco.

    17-Mile Drive

    17-Mile Drive
    This breathtaking stretch of coastline along California's Monterey Peninsula takes visitors through a maze of beautiful scenery, unique wildlife, and amazing mansions. Enjoy shopping and dining along the way in addition to taking in the vistas.

    Bird Rock

    It is a small island in the west coast of 17 miles scenic area and often frequented by many seabirds.

    Lone Cypress

    An icon of the Western United States, this tree stands alone on a cliff overlooking the ocean along Monterey's 17-Mile Drive. It is one of the most photographed trees in the country and is almost 250 years old.
  • Pacific Grove, CA

    This coastal city lies in Monterey County. Author John Steinbeck lived in a cottage here for many years. Musicians Janis Joplin and Frank Zappa also lived here for some time.
  • Carmel, CA

    Officially called Carmel-by-the-Sea, this coastal Southern California town is known for its amazing scenery as well as its art scene past and present. Former mayors include Clint Eastwood, Perry Newberry, and Herbert Heron, among other artistic icons.

    Mission San Carlos Borromeo de Carmelo

    Also known as the Carmel Mission or Mission Carmel, it is a Roman Catholic mission church in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and a U.S. National Historic Landmark.

Redemption

  • You will receive an confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order was received. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your Confirmation Email (e-ticket). When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print e-tickets to present when you arrive at your destination. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per order for 1-day or half day tours
    (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    3 days or more prior to departure - the greater of $35.
    Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    Cancellation penalties per person for overnights tours
    (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    10 days or more prior to departure - the greater of $35 or 10% of total purchase amount.
    Within 10 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
