it was a well planned out tour. We will use these bus tours more often.
Our Tour guide Eric was really good. I recommend this tour!
Awesome, just one word for our tour guide Eric.
Good Accommodation in the Comfort Inn hotel.
The transportation was superb with proper lunch/snac ks break,
A Well planned itinerary with sufficient personal free time at all the spots visited.
I have booked this tour several times for my relatives coming to visit me in the U.S, they all enjoyed it. As you can see how this tour is very popular, they took a lot of pictures and they believe this is bring them a good memory.
The tour was fantastic. It was very well planned. The driver made rest breaks every two hours. As he was driving he would give a history of each town we drove through. The hotel was more than I expected. Even though it was raining the second day the driver made us feel very comfortable. I will definitely use TakeTours again.
A few things to keep in mind
1. While the bus is lavatory-equipped, they recommend that you do not use it often as it smells and is only cleaned once in a few days. They do stop in rest areas every 2.5 hrs, and in some cases when they have to make time, there has been 3 hr non-stop journey
2. They stop in rest areas and malls for lunch and dinner. While it is stopped, the driver asks everyone to leave the bus so that he can lock it and go eat himself. This was only a problem for those who brought their own food, as they had no where to eat it when they stopped at a mall
The guides were very friendly and courteous. The planning was well done. We had about a hour in fort Niagara, 3 hours in Niagara falls and just the duration of the cruise in thousand islands
My friend and I wanted a quick trip to see Niagara Falls without spending much on transportation or lodging, and this trip accomplishes pretty much just that. None of the ticket prices are inclusive in this tour, but I still think the cost, especially with group discounts, is a good bargain. We didn't elect to watch the movies and instead spent our interlude roaming around the park. The second day at Thousand Islands was forgettable for me, but my friend loved it. In general, if you're going to this tour for a fancy holistic experience of Niagara Falls, maybe pick something more pricey.
Tour was good experience, must visit at least once. Boat ride near falls... awesome.
They did stop for lunch at chineese restaurants where there were no Indian foods though there were many Indian tourists.
I highly recommend this tour. I think it is the best way to visit Niagara Falls because you get to see the most interesting attractions skipping all lines, and listening at your guide's interesting explanations. The hotel was also great, and I was definitely surprised that we could get this awesome service for such a low price. The bus makes enough stops to allow people to use restrooms and walk a bit. I also must mention that our guide Eric was very funny and kind, as I have worked as a museum guide myself I can appreciate the great job he did.
My sister and I really enjoyed this trip and would book more tours with them in the future. Don't think twice, great experience!
I strongly recommend the Tours with this company. Our tour guide SUNNY was amazing. She is very patient, very understanding of people's needs, very knowledgeable of the attractions and a good person in general.
The temperature on the bus initially was bad. It was too cold or too hot. Finally on the way back to Boston it was properly adjusted.
If someone has issues with traveling with multicultural groups this kind of tours are not for you. it was such a great experience spending two full days with people from all around the world. Learning that we are all different and we have to be considerate with other people's costumes and cultures. Asians tend to be pushy and not to patient waiting in lines and latinos tend to be loud...
Anyway it was a great experience, my third with the company.
Me and my family had such a great time on this tour. Our tour guide benny was very sweet and knew everything about the attractions. Niagara Falls, old fort, and thousand islands everything was awesome. The tour stopped every 2 hours or so for snacks which were so great. the bus was clean and the temperature was just right.i recommend this tour to everyone.
Tour guide was very co-operative, considerate and had good knowledge of the attractions. This was the first time that we were interested in listening to the tour guide as she was very clear on what she was saying. The itinerary was well planned and we reached the attractions before time which gave us more time at the attractions which was the best thing about this tour. Though we felt that there should have been more stops for restroom use, as while returning from 1000 Island the first stop was after 3.5 hours which made some passengers too restless.
Apart from that it was a great experience and I recommend people to take this tour.
The tour guide seemed upset and unmotivated from the beginning, although she performed her job correctly. We didn't think it was made clear that there are three mandatory attractions, adding a minimum 70$ to the price. Bus was comfortable and stops were perfectly programmed. Maid of the Mist boat was closed upon our arrival due to bad weather, which was disappointing, but money was refunded for it (and I was personally able to take the boat from the Canadian side which kept operating- any of them is a total must in Niagara!). Good experience overall, but there is room for improvement.
We booked this tour last week and had a great experience during this weekend. Our tour guide was nice and even called us the day before to confirm our trip and to discuss about our pick up time. He took into account that sunset would be early so wanted to leave a bit earlier. Seeing the falls were wonderful. Advantages of going off season were that it was super quiet and that we had a lot of time as most of the attractions (Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds) were closed for winter. All in all, I would definitely recommend to do this tour, even in winter when it's cheaper :D
I strongly recommend this tour..I have booked this tour for my 5 friends and I. It was a fantastic experience.. your guide Jay is very knowledgeable and a good person.. he's very helpful and he is a very good tour guide...Jay is never in a hurry, he always gives time to you for your photography and places to watch.. must ask Jay to be your tour guide. It was completely memorable tour for all of us.
I honestly feel that it would have been great if it is a one day trip going only to Niagara Falls. At least you guys should change the plan based on the weather. Many of the people who visited Old Fort Niagara, were not able to see anything, as it was raining. Also, the time given is very short. I think this is true for most of the places. You can have less number of places to visit and give us more time to spend there. Also, the next day trip to Thousand Islands is definitely not worth spending one night for that. I felt it would have been great to go directly to Niagara Falls, spend a good amount of time there, and return to Boston so that we can save one full day
The tour guide was nice, and accommodation was nice too. The bus was not new but it was okay. They should not announce in advance that the lavatory is for emergency use, it is of course used in emergency. But telling this thing in advance made many travelers uncomfortable and not wanting to use it despite that most of them were seniors and likely have bladder problems with age; they all ran like crazy toward washrooms at every break the bus stopped. Lavatory is the most basic thing for such a long travel (Boston-Niagara Falls). Next, there should have been a plan 'B' or some kind of free/economical option for second day in lieu of the 'Thousand Island Cruise' as it is little too much for just about 50 minutes ride. Overall, there is significant room for improvement.
Tour guide was great but him English was not perfect, so it takes some effort to understand him. My highlight was probably going on the Maid of the Mist ride. We did not have to wait in the queue. The accommodation is perfect, we had free breakfast. Thundering Water Cultural Show was not really worth my money. I would rather spend time enjoying the Niagara Falls park. I recommend this trip.
The tour was very good. The tour guide was Fanny, and she was very friendly. The people in the tour were 80% Chinese. On the bus, you have to pay to the tour guide $100 in cash for the entrances, so be aware. Niagara Falls is amazing!! I only felt that the time on the boat "Maid of the Mist" was too short. The hotel "La Quinta Inn" was clean and very comfortable. The next day in Thousand Islands I wish we had had more time, because you only stay 1 hour on the boat, then you say goodbye. But all the tours were okay, always on time according to the plan. I recommended!
The tour was well planned and the tour guide was knowledgeable. He shared a lot of historical information with us and used English and Chinese. He guided us at every attraction and we had a good time spending time at the attractions.
The tour did exactly what it said it would, with no surprises. Staff was helpful when the transportation malfunctioned a bit. Sights were worth it.
My only grumble is that, travelling alone, there was not even the option for 'yes I'm happy to share a twin/triple room with a stranger', so if anyone else had a ticket wit that option, then we could reduce the price for ourselves (I've spent 15 years staying in hostel dorms when traveling around the world - to be told 'I can't share' feels strange).
I would definitely recommend this trip. We saw the Old Niagara Fort, the Niagara Falls from the Maid of the Mist, a native show, the illuminated waterfalls, and the Thousand Islands. And if you didn't want to see all of those things, there was not a single problem... You had free time! The hotel (inn) was great and the breakfast was included. What I didn't like was the tour guide, who did not speak fluent English.
My family and I enjoyed this long bus trip very much. The guide (Steven) was very much friendly with children and very much interactive. Never felt tired or stressed on the bus though the lavatory in the bus was not operational. I recommend this tour 100% only because of Steven- the tour guide.
Overall tour was good compared to the price.
I took this tour especially for Niagara, however, the bus first went to Niagara Fort then to Maid of the Mist but we didn't have enough time for Cave of the Winds. We couldn't even see the night tour properly.
We enjoyed the tour a lot. Stephen is fantastic tour escort and Jimmy is an excellent driver. Both provided us an excellent and memorable trip. We believe that taking the tour with Sunshine Travel was an absolute right decision.
Stephen was an excellent tour guide. He explained everything very well, I felt like he equally gave appropriate attention to both English speaking and Chinese speaking customers. Itinerary was very full, but worked well.
I'd prefer to have more frequent stops, every 2-2.5 hours. Some drives were up to 3.5-4 hours.
We booked this tour on TakeTours from Boston. Our guide was Yao, a nice Chinese man. The tour company is Chinese on the bus, so there were a lot of Chinese people. We paid $71 cash for the admission fee, which included Maid of the Mist, Niagara at night, 1000 Islands, fee for bus driver per day, and services. We chose not to attend an attraction and we did not pay for it. The accommodation was nice with an international breakfast. It took us 8-9 hours to get there. We missed the Old Fort Niagara because we were late. I would recommend visiting the Canadian side by the way.
This tour is great! We had a good time visiting Niagara Falls and the Thousand Islands. Everything worked great and the schedule included enough time for eating and discovering the Falls on your own.
At the end, the bus trip was very tiring and exhausting because of traffic near Boston. But after all it was a great weekend getaway. I would definitely do it again.
The tour package was good except the hotel room. It didn't have proper heating and we didn't get any wake up call as well. The night view of Niagara was very bad, the spot they choose for view wasn't giving much of a view, as this is the second time i could easily tell the difference.
We are sorry that some rooms may have older heating system. If this happens, the tour guide will request the hotel to change room for passengers. For the night view, the tour is in US side. Passengers got dropped off at the closest point and was given time to explore the area on their own.
This tour was suggested to me by my colleagues, they all had a very pleasant experience so thought lets give it a go. I have taken this trip along with my wife who was visiting US for the first time, our trip started at president plaza Quincy at sharp 6 am, one thing i like about the tour was the time management was excellent , and the whole tour was very well planned though the journey was tiring it could not have planned any better in the time frame, th e hotel accommodation was excellent and frequent stops were taken to ensure we have a relaxed journey..all the attractions covered were worth watching..all in all total value for money.
We are all very pleased with our trip to Niagara Falls. We did get a few obstacles on the way but nothing that disturbed us. We had a great guide! Excellent weather and overall a great trip. we would recmmend this trip to our friends.
The bus started promptly as they clubbed all people boarding from same place into one bus. They re-adjusted our destination to best use the time. Took good 2 hours stops to retain the sanity among people. Gave us about 4 hours at the falls to do Maid of the Mist, Dinner and other things. We tried this tour during long weekend and thus 4 hours proved to be a little short but still not bad. We also took the trolley tour that takes around the falls and stops at 4-5 different stops. Fourth stop was short too but there were many events because of the long weekend and so it was okay. The 1000 island was simply just a ship ride for about 1 hour. The guide was of foreign nationality and thus it was initially hard to understand but was okay later. All in all, if you are doing this for 2 days from Boston, its worth it although 3 day tour may even be better.
we traveled to Niagara old fort, maid of mist, Light show in night and on return to thousand island cruise. Journey is little tiring but manageable. Tour guide spoke in Chinese and English and we had had time understanding her due to more of Chinese accent. Maid of mist is a lifetime memorable experience. Flip side you have to be in line for an 1-1.5 hour before taking boat. Accommodation was really good with all facilities. We were lucky to get complimentary breakfast. Overall good experience !
Bowen seems to be very informative and resourceful about all the places that we visited. He treated us with warmest care and providing us every detail. Overall, Bowen had good knowledge about all the places and can make a good guide.
We expected an economy hotel. The Holiday Inn was excellent. Several offer customers were so pleased that they were going to use Holiday Inn for future trips. There was a disabled lady on our group and Scott was so kind and considerate.
We booked this tour on taketours from Boston. Our guide was Barney, a chinese man. The Bus consisted of 70% of chinese people, but he talked english and chinese.
Be aware you have to pay 70$ for an admission fee in the beginning of the tour. You have to pay it cash to the guide. That includes all entrances (IMAX, Maid of Mist, Niagara at night, Boat Cruise 1000 Island, fee for bus driver per day and services). If you don't want to do all, you have to say it and hope, it works!! Even your way to Niagara falls and the hotel is in the price included! The way to niagarafalls took us 8-9 hours. The day were switched, so Day 1 we did the niagara and day 2 we travelled to the 1000 islands. The bus is not a modern one. It was also very cold in front of the bus. No seatbells and the bus driver sometimes did not stop on red traffic lights. His english was bad too and he didn't understand a lot. But Barney was great and friendly.
So good things on the tour:
You have to see the Niagara falls and make a boat tour via Maid of Mist. Its absolut amazing!
Maybe do it on your own, so you have more time to spend on watching the falls. We were not able to go to the canadian side. Also the bus stops for eating were most of all fastfood restaurants. One bad thing our Hotel had no breakfast, so we had to buy it on Dunkin Donat. The hotel was great, it was a Marriott Hotel.
A thing which could be better is to visit the Heart Island (Boldt Castle). You just drive around the islands, but you are not able to visit them.
Roy was a great tour guide. He had a very professional attitude throughout the tour. Kept us on schedule; kept us entertained & also made sure that our food necessarities all met in the best & most economical way. The bus device gave us a very comfortable ride and made the trip better.
The waterfall and thousand island experience is great! The hotel is so nice which makes it worth after such a long drive. The only thing I'd like to point out is the overall fee is 180 instead of 110 because the tour guide will ask for another 70 on the bus for cruise fee, boat, tips in total. Overall, we enjoyed it a lot
We enjoyed the tour very much! Our tour guide David was great and kept us thorougly infomred & entertainted. Everything was well organized. Bus driver Jimmy drove wisely & kept everything on schedule. We really loved the service & would like to take more tours with TakeTours (Especially if David is with us). Thanks
I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to go to Niagara Falls because the tour guide was neat, cheerful and a nice guy. He explained everything in a nice and clear tone. He joined every activity with us. The tour departed and arrived on time.
Tour was very nice planned, no hidden charges. Tour guide was doing a great job. We had no issues during trip. Hotel & Bus were also good. I would definitely recommend niagara trip for all who are planning.
Tour was perfect from all aspects..Tour guide Joe was very friendly and interactive. All aspects were covered within well-defined timlines..to top it off weather was also brilliant..which allowed us to take excellent photographs..hotel stay was very comfortable..Thanks! would love to come back!
Tour was very well planned.
The information and service received from Gotobus/Taketours was extraordinaire.
Tour guide was very good at her job. I'd recommend this tour to my family and friends.
I'd like to keep taking more tours from this website. :)
We loved this tour and was really worth it. The tour was well organized.Great smooth coach ride (driver jimmy) and nice guide (rachel). Although it feels like you should have more time at each destination..the fact is that's the best you could do in a 2 day tour. Great hotel accomodation (Fairfields Inn- Marriott at Rochester).
Journey was awesome. Tour guide Simon made our journey wonderful. He guided us at through all of the attractions, and gave us comfort as we roamed around. It is a memorable trip. Few area to improve: 1. cap holder a bag to put some stuff; 2. Missed the fireworks at Niagara (Don't know if there is every time); 3. Power plug are not working in the bus.
The trip was wonderful. I love Niagara Falls. The hotel was clean. The tour guide was very nice. There were a few Indian friends on the bus. He took care of them well. There were English movies with Chinese caption and Indian movie. Thanks George!
