Most visitors spend no more than 30 minutes inside the Washington Monument itself
The Washington Monument requires all guests to go through physical security screening to access the monument. The security line normally takes around 15-30 minutes but can be even longer on major holidays.
The Washington Monument operates in rain or shine.
The inside of the monument does not allow smoking, vaporizers, e-cigarettes, food and drink (except water in clear bottles), large bags, or weapons.
The Monument is wheelchair accessible
Strollers are not permitted inside the Monument. You must leave the stroller in the designated, unattended parking area outside, often near the entrance or along the side of the building.

The Washington Monument is a self-guided experience
