After breakfast aboard our private bus, starting in the sophisticated neighborhood of Recoleta, see the cemetery where Eva Peron is buried and the Church of Our Lady of Pilar. We'll continue on to Palermo, with its elegant residences and Japanese gardens, then on to the colorful neighborhood of La Boca featuring typical cantinas. The oldest area of San Telmo with cobbled streets is also home to many tango houses. Finally, see the modern side of town showing off its port warehouses converted to chic flats in Puerto Madero. After being picked up from your hotel, cross the border into Brazil's Iguacu National Park. This side of the falls offers the best perspective to see Garganta del Diablo ( Devil's Throat ). Admire the 2-mile ( 3.2-km ) stretch of the falls, which curves across the Parana Plateau in a half-moon horseshoe of white water, verdant islets, and mist-drenched rocks. Trek down the trails of the park's subtropical forest to the base of Floriano Falls. Watch for nosy, raccoon-like coatis along the way.

Day 6: Iguazu Argentine Falls

In the morning, we'll take an excursion to the Argentine Falls, walking along the upper and lower paths to get a really close view of the imposing cascading wall of water. The environment is also exquisite due to the amazing variety of ferns, orchids, begonias, birds and butterflies. In the afternoon, we will take an open train departing from the Visitor Center to the 'Garganta Station'where we disembark for a 1 mile walk up to the Devil's Throat balcony, to share one of the greatest shows on earth. Return by train to the Visitor Center where you'll experience the "Great Adventure", a brief cruise which will allow you to approach the bottom of the San Martin and Tres Mosqueteros falls with an outstanding view of the Devil's Throat. Recap your day's adventure over dinner in the hotel.

This full-day navigation and ice trekking adventure begins with a scenic catamaran tour through Lago Argentino's iceberg-filled channels. A guided walk at Puesto de Las Vacas allows for flora and fauna exploration.

Day 9: Trek El Chalten (137 km)

Today we will travel to the town of El Chalten. On our way, we will cross the Santa Cruz River and stop for a few minutes at Estancia La Leona. There, we will make a restroom stop and enjoy homemade cakes and a hot drink (not included). During the tour, weather permitting, we will make a stop at the Viedma Glacier Viewpoint. Upon arriving in El Chalten, we will have 5 hours to explore and enjoy this small mountain town. We will take two easy hikes: First, we will head to Mirador de los Condores. We will continue to the town center, where, depending on the option chosen, you will enjoy a varied homemade menu in a typical local restaurant. After lunch, we will continue to the second trail, called Chorrillo del Salto. To return, we will all meet at a pre-arranged meeting point at 4:00 p.m. and begin our return trip to El Calafate, arriving at your hotels between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m.

Day 15: Punta Arenas - Porvenir - Useless Bay - Primera Angostura (19879 km)

The morning begins by going to the Tres Puentes terminal to board a two-hour ferry that will take us to Porvenir cross the Strait of Magellan. After lunch in Porvenir, we will continue skirting Bahia Inutil bay, crossing this island that surprises with its endless pampas and the sight of infinity ahead on the horizon. On the way, we can see various birds, sheep ranches and herds of guanacos, a South American camelid related to the llama and the alpaca. After about 114 km of route we will arrive at the King Penguin Park, where a permanent colony of this species resides, the largest in size after the emperor penguin. We will leave the park in the direction of Primera Angostura, the narrowest point of the strait of only 5 km wide. There we will cross back to the mainland in a ferry that takes 20 minutes, after which we will take a route of about 200 km until we reach Punta Arenas.

Day 17: Puerto Natales - Torres del Paine National Park - Puerto Natales (216 km)

The adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Natales at 6:30 a.m. Travel north for 2 hours to reach the starting point of the trek. After a quick briefing with the local guide, start the walk crossing a bridge over the Asencio River. Trek for 1.5 hours to reach Refugio El Chileno, shrouded in forest and in the shadow of the spectacular Monte Nieto Almirante. After a short stop at El Chileno, continue for 2-2.5 hours along a steeper section of trail to the main lookout. Reach the main lookout of Las Torres at the eastern end of the lagoon, from where you will have a spectacular view of the three granite peak as well as the Peineta and Nido de Condores hills. Stop and enjoy your packed lunch while admiring the views. After the break, return to the base along the same path. Following the trek, hotel drop-off will be provided in Puerto Natales.

The journey begins with a stop at Rio Tinto, a renowned wine market in the Casablanca Valley. Then, you will arrive in Valparaiso, a city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will explore colorful hills, funiculars, and viewpoints, visit the Plaza de los Poets, and see the exterior of La Sebastiana, one of Pablo Neruda's houses. You will also stroll through the famous Cerro Alegre, known for its murals and vibrant atmosphere. Later, you will head to Vina del Mar, the "Garden City," where you will stop at the iconic flower clock and see an authentic Easter Island moai located outside the Fonck Museum. We will return to Santiago.

    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .

    8-14 days or more prior to departure - 30% of total purchase amount.
    4-7 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour..
