Decorated in a distinctive Art Nouveau style, this charming four-star hotel is the ideal place to sit backand relax before your Scandinavian adventure begins. Meet your Travel Director for a drink and mingle with your fellow traveling companions.

Today you’ll take a flight to Ivalo, a small yet important center in Finnish Lapland, 250km above the Arctic Circle. The Gateway to the North, Ivalo is set on the Ivalo River, where the first Lapland Goldrush took place in the 19th century. You’ll enjoy a dinner at your boutique hotel, Aurora Village, famed for its cabins with a glass roof, offering sweeping views of the night sky. Look out for the dancing northern lights, as you gaze through the glass ceiling from the comfort of your room. Please note that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and therefore sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Today you’ll be heading further north through the winter Lapland landscape. Cross the Finnish–Norwegian border as you make your way to Honningsvåg, the northernmost and smallest city in Norway. Your drive will take you along the mighty Porsangerfjord, the fourth largest fjord in Norway. You will take the subsea Nordkapp Tunnel to the island of Magerøya, to reach your hotel in this small fishing community. Explore the quaint city by taking a stroll along the waterfront before retiring to your hotel and enjoying a delicious dinner.

- DAY 1: Complimentary arrival transfers depart Helsinki Vantaa Airport (HEL) at 10:00, 14:00 and 16:00 on the first day of the tour. Guests should arrive at least 2 hours before the last transfer time.
- DAY 10: Complimentary departure transfers arrive at Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) on the last day of the tour at 07:15 and 10:15.
- CLOTHING RECOMMENDATIONS: The weather during the winter months in Scandinavia and northern Europe is often icy and extremely cold. We therefore recommend that guests bring appropriate clothing, a warm waterproof jacket and trousers/pants are definitely advised. In addition, as many paths may be slippery, we recommend bringing sturdy winter walking boots and packing crampons or ice grips to ensure safety and comfort while exploring during the winter months. Guests are required to bring their own Arctic-appropriate clothing, as Insight Vacations does not supply thermal clothing.
- PORTERAGE: Please note that porterage services are not included at all hotels in Scandinavia.
- INTERNAL FLIGHT: A single bag is allowed with dimensions not exceeding 35.4"x29.5"x17.7" (90x75x45cm) and weight not exceeding 50lbs. (23kg). Carry-on/hand luggage is restricted to one carry-on piece per person (i.e., cabin suitcase, rucksack or similar), not exceeding 21.6"x15.7"x9" (55x40x23cm) (length x width x depth) with a weight limit of 17lbs. (8kg) to fit it overhead compartment and one small personal item per person (i.e., small handbag/briefcase or similar), not exceeding 15"x11.8"x5.9" (40x30x15cm) (length x width x depth) with a weight limit of 17lbs. (8kg) to fit under the seat in front.
- NORTHERN LIGHTS: Northern Lights are a natural occurrence and cannot be guaranteed.
- IMPORTANT: From time to time a different style of coach may be used, which can mean standard legroom and fewer onboard amenities than usual. Please note that your Tour Director and Driver are continuously monitoring the road conditions for your safety and alternative routes might be taken if necessary.
- SMALL GROUP SERIES: Wonders of Turkey is now featuring exclusively small-group departures, operating with a maximum of 24 guests for the entire series.
