  • Gammelstad: Visit the immaculately-preseved historic trading settlement of Gammelstad. Gain insight into the customs and development of this region as you view the wooden cottages and central stone church. 
  • Stockholm (Solna): With your Local Specialist, visit the Stockholm City Hall and enjoy a panoramic tour of the city with your fellow traveling companions.
  • Inari: Explore the museum’s collections showcasing the spirit and history of Sámi culture over the centuries, as well as the evolution of the Sámi languages, Northern Lapland’s unique natural environment and how this community has survived and indeed thrived in the Arctic's extremes. Your visit directly supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
  • Rovaniemi: Sit down to lunch with your hosts at a family-run reindeer farm and learn about life in the Arctic. Afterward, visit the farm, meet the reindeer and hear how Sámi traditions are carried through daily work in this northern landscape.

Additional Notes

  • ARRIVAL: Complimentary arrival transfers depart Helsinki Vantaa Airport (HEL) at 11:30 and 15:00 on the first day of the tour. We recommend flights to arrive 2 hours prior to the last complimentary transfer time. Flights to arrive prior to 13:00.
  • DEPARTURE: Complimentary departure transfers arrive at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport (ARN) on the last day of the tour at 07:30 and 11:00. We recommend flights to depart 3 hours after the first transfer arrival time at the airport. Flights to depart after 10:30.
  • CHARGEABLE TRANSFERS: Guests who have booked their extra hotel nights with Trafalgar, or whose flight times do not coincide with the shuttle coach timings may purchase a chargeable transfer. Guests who have booked their extra hotel nights not at Trafalgar designated hotels should make their own transfer arrangements.
  • NORTHERN LIGHTS: Please note Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed.
  • MOTORCOACH NOTE: Coach services may occasionally vary in seating capacity and onboard features, which can result in standard legroom or limited amenities.
  • INTERNAL FLIGHTS: Internal flights are included in the tour cost and booked by Ground Handler. A single checked bag is allowed, with a weight not exceeding 50lbs. (23kg). Carry-on/hand luggage is restricted to one piece per person, not exceeding 17lbs. (8kg).
  • PORTERAGE: Please note that porterage services are not included at all hotels in Scandinavia.
  • CLOTHING RECOMMENDATIONS: The weather during the winter months in Scandinavia and northern Europe is often icy and extremely cold. We therefore recommend that guests bring appropriate clothing, a warm waterproof jacket and trousers/pants are definitely advised. In addition, as many paths may be slippery, we recommend bringing sturdy winter walking boots and packing crampons or ice grips to ensure safety and comfort while exploring during the winter months. Guests are required to bring their own Arctic-appropriate clothing, as Trafalgar does not supply thermal clothing.
