Day 1: Lisbon

Guests will arrive at the airport in Lisbon. After clearing immigration and customs, they will transfer to the local hotel before having the rest of the day free to explore the city at their own leisure.

Day 2: Lisbon - Evora - Lisbon(240 km)

As we depart Lisbon, we will cross the April 25 Bridge, making a brief stop at the Cristo Rey. We will continue our journey to Evora, a historic city in the heart of the Alentejo. Free time to have lunch. Optionally, we can visit the Esporão winery, where we will have 3 wine tastings, and then a typical lunch (Visit and lunch included in the PREMIUM PACKAGE). As we return to Lisbon, we will cross the Vasco da Gama bridge to reach the Parque das Nações.

    25th of April Bridge

    This suspension bridge in Portugal connects the capital of Lisbon to the municipality of Almada on the other side of the Tagus River. It first opened in 1966.

    Evora is a city and a municipality in Portugal. Due to its well-preserved old town centre, still partially enclosed by medieval walls, and a large number of monuments dating from various historical periods, including a Roman Temple, Evora is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 3: Lisbon - Obidos - Batalha - Tomar - Coimbra(163 km)

We will depart from Lisbon towards the medieval walled town of Obidos, one of the most beautiful and preserved villas in Portugal. We will continue our trip to Batalha to visit the monastery of Santa María de Victory and we can enjoy the changing of the guard. We will next depart to Tomar where we can visit the Convent of the Christ of Tomar. Free time for lunch (Lunch included in the PREMIUM PACKAGE). We will continue to Coimbra, known worldwide for its University. Arrival and dinner at the hotel.

    A town and a municipality in the Oeste Subregion in Portugal. Obidos remains a well-preserved example of medieval architecture; its streets, squares, walls and its castle are a popular tourist destination.
  • Batalha, PORTUGAL

    A town and a municipality in Portugal. The municipality population in 2011 was 15,805, in an area of 103.42 square kilometres. Here you can find the Batalha Monastery.

    Batalha Monastery

    Construction on this monastery began in 1386 and eventually wrapped up in 1517, spanning the reign of seven kings. It is a Dominican convent built in a Gothic style.

    This small town in Portugal began within the walls of the Convento de Cristo, which was founded by the Knights Templar and remains one of the best places to visit in the entire country.
  • Coimbra, PORTUGAL

    The third-largest city in Portugal, Coimbra was once the country's capital until roughly the end of the Middle Ages, and is filled with historical buildings and beautiful architecture.

Day 4: Coimbra - Guimares - Braga(471 km)

This morning we will visit Coimbra with a local guide, where we can see part of the university enclave and the Santa Cruz neighborhood, which is the heart of the city of Coimbra (entrance not included). Then continue our journey to Guimaraes, famous for its walls and narrow streets, palatial houses and especially the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança Portugal. After lunch, we will continue to Braga and dinner at the hotel.

  • Guimaraes, PORTUGAL

    A city and municipality located in northern Portugal. Its historic town centre is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, in recognition for being an "exceptionally well-preserved and authentic example of the evolution of a medieval settlement into a modern town" in Europe.

    Palace of the Dukes of Braganca

    This medieval estate is the former residence of the first Dukes of Braganca. It fell into ruin and disrepair in the 16th century, but recent efforts have seen the complex restored to its original grandeur.
  • Braga, PORTUGAL

    A city and a municipality in the northwestern Portuguese district of Braga, in the historical and cultural Minho Province.

Day 5: Braga - Peso da Regua - Lamego - Porto(9422 km)

This morning we will visit Bom Jesus. As we continue our tour we will cross one of the incredible and picturesque areas of northern Portugal until we reach Peso da Regua. Free time for lunch. We will next continue to Lamego to see the Church of Los Remedios, and then travel to the city of Porto.
  • Braga, PORTUGAL

    A city and a municipality in the northwestern Portuguese district of Braga, in the historical and cultural Minho Province.

    Bom Jesus do Monte

    This sanctuary, located just outside the city of Braga, is a notable pilgrimage site. The stairs leading up to the sanctuary itself are Baroque in style and climb 116 meters to the top.
  • Peso da Regua, PORTUGAL

    Commonly known as Regua, it is a municipality in northern Portugal, in the district of Vila Real. The population in 2011 was 17,131 (of which approximately 10,000 are in the town of Regua), in an area of 94.86 km².
  • Lamego, PORTUGAL

    With origins before the Roman occupation of the Iberian Peninsula, Lamego is known for its historic city center. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lamego is based in the city center.

Day 6: Porto City Tour

This morning, we will enjoy a guided tour of Porto, which includes a visit to a local winery. The afternoon will be free for us to enjoy at our own leisure.

Day 7: Porto - Aveiro - Fatima - Lisbon(302 km)

After breakfast, we will depart for Aveiro, the "City of Canals", regarded as the Portuguese Venice. Then we will continue on to Fatima, a Christian pilgrimage center, with free time to visit the Basilica. Afterward, we will drive to Lisbon, where we can enjoy an optional excursion to hear live Fado music while eating a delicious dinner.

    Fatima is a civil parish in the municipality of Ourem, in the Portuguese Santarem District.

    Basilica of the Santissima Trinidade

    One of the largest Christian church in the world, construction on this basilica was completed in 2007. With its thoroughly modern design, it looks completely unique from most other European churches.

Day 8: Lisbon City Tour

In the morning, we will tour the city of Lisbon, admiring its splendid avenues and monuments, like the Tower of Belem and Jeronimos Monastery. We will have the afternoon free, and it is strongly recommended that we visit the graceful hilltop village of Sintra or the vibrant seaside resort town of Cascais.

Day 9: Lisbon (Last Day)

After breakfast, guests will be transferred to the Lisbon airport on time for their return flights.

  • PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.
  • Prices: Quoted prices are based on US Dollars and are subject to change without notice.
  • Tour Accommodations: The tour operator reserves the right, if necessary, to substitute other, similar hotels from those listed. Such substitutions may be made at any time and without prior notice. The tour operator cannot be held responsible for hotel over-bookings. In the event of over-booking, the tour operator will find similar accommodations in the same area.
  • English-Speaking Tour Escort: A professional, bilingual tour director will accompany tours while traveling by motor coach. Most tours will operate in both Spanish and English on the same motor coach. In the unusual event that a group totals less than 15 persons, the tour operator reserves the right to operate the tour in a minibus or private car with a bilingual driver-escort, or by first-class rail transportation.
  • Hotels: Unless otherwise stated, prices are per room and based on one, two or three persons sharing a room, with private bath. A limited number of single rooms are available at additional cost. Triple rooms are not recommended.
  • Meals and Sightseeing: As indicated in the itineraries. Meals do not normally include beverages, except coffee or tea with breakfasts.
  • Passport and Visas: A valid passport is required for United States citizens. Citizens of other countries require a valid passport and may require additional documents. Such persons should contact consulates of countries to be visited and obtain proper documents before departure. The possession of required and valid passport and visas is the sole responsibility of the traveler. The tour operator assumes no liability for lack of proper documents.
  • Baggage: Although airline regulations generally allow, free of charge, a maximum of two bags, the tour operator will accommodate only one normal size suitcase plus one small overnight bag on motor coach tours.
  • Surcharges: A documentation and shipping fee of $25 will be added to all online bookings.
  • Cancellation: Once a partial or full payment has been made, cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Cancellation terms will be applied based on the date that the written cancellation is received and based on the following dates prior to departure:
    Notification day and departure day are not counted
    Cancellations received more than 45 days prior to departure will have a penalty of $50 per person;
    Cancellations received between 45 and 31 days will have a penalty of 25% per person.
    Cancellations received between 30 and 6 days will have a penalty of 50% per person.
    Cancellations received received 5 days or less prior to departure or "no shows" will receive no refund.
    No refund will be made for abandonment of services. No refunds will be made for transfers, city tours or any other services (including meals, accommodations or transportation) voluntarily not taken.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your account. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 10% handling fee.
  • Insurance: The tour operator highly recommends that each traveler purchase travel and cancellation insurance. Such insurance can be obtained through your travel agent.
  • Changes: Travelers holding confirmed tour or hotel package reservations may request a change of date to another tour or hotel package of equal or greater value. Online changes can be made up to 45 days before departure and are subject to availability. There will be a charge of $25 for such changes if accepted by the tour operator.
  • Responsibility: The tour operator holds itself free of any responsibility for any cause, in all matters connected with hotels, accommodations, sightseeing tours and transportation, whether by air, rail, bus, motorcar, boat or any other means. The tour operator and/or its agents will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any of the traveler's belongings. The tour operator reserves the right to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour at any time. Baggage and personal effects are at the owner's risk throughout the tour, unless insured.
  • Limitations of Liability: The tour operator and its agents act only as agents for the traveler's hotels, restaurants, sightseeing and transportation (such as railroad, aircraft, boat, motor coach, automobile, or any conveyance). The tour operator and its agents shall not be responsible or liable for any injury, loss or damage, delay or inconvenience arising out of or in connection with any defect in any vehicle or any act, omission, neglect, accident, error or default of any company or person engaged in providing such hotel, restaurant, sightseeing, transportation or other services of the tour. The tour operator and its agents shall not be responsible or liable for alterations of the tour itinerary or arrangement, if such alterations become advisable or necessary for the comfort or well being of any passenger, or for any reason whatsoever. The right is reserved to withdraw any or all tours or portions thereof. The sole and exclusive responsibility and liability of the airline shall be in accordance with and as limited by the contract of carriage in the passenger's ticket, the applicable tariffs, and provisions of the Warsaw Convention, if applicable.
