  • Xochimilco: Glide through Xochimilco’s ancient canals on a colourful trajinera with a Local Guide bringing the stories to life. Think floating gardens, music drifting by and a proper slice of local Mexico City culture.
  • Mexico City: Explore Frida Kahlo’s iconic blue home, where her art, memories and personal world still feel alive. You'll wander the rooms, gardens and artefacts that shaped one of Mexico’s most famous creative voices.
  • Mexico City: Admire the ‘City of Gods’: one of the first great cities of the Western Hemisphere. Although no one really knows who built it.
  • Follow a Local Guide through the wild desert landscapes of Zapotitlán de Salinas. dotted with giant cacti, ancient rock formations and quiet valleys. With a Local Guide, you'll learn how local communities have lived with this fragile ecosystem for generations.
  • Oaxaca: Walk into Oaxaca’s historic centre with your Trip Manager, passing Santo Domingo, the Museo de las Cultures and the lively Zócalo. We'll finish near the cathedral and dinner spots, with the city’s colour, music and street life doing most of the talking.
  • Pueblos Mancomunados: Spend two days in the Pueblos Mancomunados, a network of Indigenous mountain communities protecting their ancestral lands through community-led tourism. Additional Notes

  • START/END TIMES: Trip starts in Mexico City at 4:00pm and ends in Oaxaca at 10:00am. Please join your trip at the start accommodation outlined in your trip documents. Hotels are subject to change. Check your travel documents for How To Get There & Kick-Start Meeting information.
  • TRANSFERS: Chargeable Arrival transfers are available for flights into Mexico City (MEX Airport). Departure transfers are not available. Full Flight Information must be provided if transfers are required to be booked. Flights details must be advised min. 14 days prior to departure.
  • PASSPORT: A passport is needed to enter Mexico for all passengers unless they are residents or citizens of these countries. Passport details are required for all Latin America trips. The clients name as it appears on their passport, date of birth, gender, passport number, expiry date with 6 months validity, and nationality is required.
  • VISAS: Visas may be required for this trip. It is the client's responsibility to obtain the necessary documentation.
  • BORDER FEES: The following Border Fees will need to be paid locally while on trip: the US$55 fee for departing Mexico is often included in airline tickets, so have an invoice to show officials if it has been paid. USD Fees are subject to change and are approximate based on exchange rates.
  • GROUND HANDLER: This trip is operated on behalf of Contiki by our trusted third party supplier Be Mexico and led by one of our own wonderful Contiki Trip Managers.
