  • Kerugoya: Built in 1962 and set in rural Kerugoya town on the foothills of Mt. Kenya, the house is located within an operational coffee and tea estate. It is the home of the late Geoffrey Kariithi, a pre-eminent civil servant in Kenya’s first independence government, now run and managed by his daughter Grace. While at the house you will have the opportunity to discover and learn about the complete process of coffee and tea production, from planting to processing, and enjoy local cuisine including a sample of the region's tea and coffee.
  • Aberdare National Park: Resembling Noah's Ark, the Ark Lodge in Aberdare National Park has four viewing areas for observing the wildlife which congregate around a floodlit waterhole and salt lick.
  • Samburu National Reserve: Drive through the Samburu National Reserve, known for its diverse wildlife and expansive landscapes.

  • MANDATORY INBOUND TRAVEL INSURANCE: All guests entering Zanzibar are required to possess a valid Inbound Travel Insurance which will provide coverage for the duration of their stay up to 92 days. This insurance can only be purchased via the Zanzibar Insurance Corp before embarking on their journey to Zanzibar via the following link https://visitzanzibar.go.tz/. Failure to comply with this mandatory requirement may result in entry denial at immigration checkpoint.
  • ZANZIBAR INFRASTRUCTURE TAX: Zanzibar has introduced an infrastructure tax payable upon check-out locally. This is currently USD$5 per person, per night, subject to change. This tax must be settled directly in Zanzibar and cannot be included in the trip package and will need to be paid separately in cash at the time of departure.
  • DAY 1: Complimentary arrival transfers from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta Intl Airport (NBO) will operate per flight information details on the first day of the tour or in conjunction with pre accom booked through Trafalgar.
  • DAY 12: Complimentary transfers to Zanzibar Abeid Amani Karume Intl Airport (ZNZ) will operate per flight information details on the last day of the tour only or in conjunction with post accom booked through Trafalgar.
  • INTERNAL FLIGHTS: This tour has an included internal flight; any excess luggage charges are at your own expense.
  • LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE: Each guest is permitted one bag with max dimensions of 58 linear inches/147 cm, total of length, width, and height and a weight not exceeding 44 lbs/20 kg. Guests may also bring one personal item, such as a purse or backpack that fits under the seat in front of them or the overhead compartment weighing no more than 15 lbs (7kg).
  • PLEASE NOTE: Yellow Fever certificate may be required before trip. Please contact the consulate/embassy and family doctor for further details on medical vaccinations that may be required.
  • GROUND HANDLER: This trip is operated by Somak Safari's.
  • IMPORTANT: The full duration of this itinerary is operated by a 4X4 safari vehicle (no toilets on board), including all road travel and safari game drives. We would not recommend it to anyone suffering from back problems. Guests must be comfortable climbing in and out of the safari vehicle multiple times a day on this tour.
  • SMALL GROUP SERIES: This trip is now featuring exclusively small-group departures, operating with a maximum of 18 guests for the entire series.
