2026 Fall Foliage Tours

The fall colors were beautiful, and the Agawa Canyon train was the highlight for me. The ticket was an extra cost, but seeing Black Beaver Falls and Bridal Veil Falls made it worthwhile.

After climbing the Dorset lookout tower, I could see a huge stretch of maple forest, really deep red, and I stood up there for a while. It was windy on the tower though, and I got a bit cold after a while.

On the last day we took the steamship cruise in Gravenhurst and passed that famous row of houses along the lake, which was fun to see from the water. The cruise ticket was optional and I paid for it separately before boarding—I don't remember exactly how much it was.

Both nights of accommodation were included in the tour price, and the rooms were the usual chain hotel kind—clean and good enough. Breakfast was included too, so I didn't have to figure out where to eat in the morning, which I appreciated.

The train ride into Agawa Canyon was my favorite part of the trip, rolling slowly into the hills with red and yellow trees on both sides. I walked over to see the falls in the park, and the sound of the water felt really refreshing.

I really liked that six tickets were included — the Confederation Bridge, the red sandstone beaches, Green Gables, the Fundy tides, Magnetic Hill, and Peggy's Cove Lighthouse all came with it, so I didn't have to sort each one out myself.

A few days were mostly spent on the road, with long stretches on the bus, and I was pretty tired by the time we reached the hotel. Still, the scenery kept changing outside the window, so it wasn't too hard to get through.

I still remember the lobster dinner on PEI — the bright red lobster came out and everyone dug in together, and the mood was great. Afterward there was a bonfire and I roasted a marshmallow, a small surprise that day.

What stayed with me most from the seven days was Old Quebec — the cobblestone streets and old buildings made every corner look like a postcard. I sat at a sidewalk cafe for a while just sipping coffee and watching people pass by, which felt really nice.
