Today we'll get ready to uncover Tokyo (on the metro!). We'll kick off with the ancient Buddhist temple of Asakusa Senso-ji & the famous Meiji Jingu shrine. And then, you have a free afternoon to discover the wild fashion of Harajuku & the shopping district of Nakamise Street, or take to the streets of Shibuya for an attempt to cross the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world.

Today’s yours to do Tokyo your way (just remember to top up your transport card before you head out). First up, a robot cafe where robots deliver your drinks and each table has an avatar you can chat with, piloted by people with disabilities who can’t work in a traditional setting. Then tonight (since it’s our last evening in Tokyo), it’s the perfect time to check out a Maid Cafe in Akihabara, Tokyo's tech paradise.

Our train will whizz us past the iconic Mount Fuji, of which we'll hopefully grab a glimpse before heading to Kinkaku-ji and Fushimi Inari Shrine. - START/END TIMES: Trip starts in Tokyo at 3:00pm and ends in Osaka at 9:00am.
- TRANSFERS: Both complimentary and chargeable transfers are not offered through Contiki. Guests should make their own way from/to the airport at their own expense.
- BULLET TRAIN: No luggage cars on the trains and no porterage at the train stations. Guest will need to pack a small bag for the journey. All other luggage will travel by motorcoach.
- CHERRY BLOSSOM SEASON: Cherry Blossom season varies between different regions of Japan and is dependent on weather conditions. Late March to early April are the most likely times to experience it on this tour but this is not guaranteed.
- NOTE: An overnight bag is required for some nights on this trip.
