Itinerary
Early morning departure from Toronto to Kingston City Hall (Welcome). The staff of Travel Kingston will welcome you in front of this National Historic Landmark of Canada, built in 1844. Whether you're a history buff or an architecture enthusiast, you'll find something to explore here. Later visit Fort Henry, Ontario's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch proceed to S.S. Keewatin.
Finally, join the annual Lavender Carnival, where lavender is in full bloom, the largest annual lavender festival in Ontario. It's all about natural fragrance, idyllic scenery, festive atmosphere and family fun.
Kingston, ON
Located midway between Toronto and Montreal, Kingston was named the first capital of the Province of Canada. Kingston is a city rich in history, culture, critically acclaimed attractions and cuisine.
Kingston City Hall
Built in 1844, this National Historic Site of Canada was once the main governmental building of the capital city of the Province of Canada. Today, it is the city hall of Kingston and a community hub.
Fort Henry
Built on a strategic point along the St. Lawrence River during the War of 1812, Fort Henry was meant to defend British troops in Canada from any potential American attack. It rests on a hill overlooking the river.
S.S. Keewatin
The world's last Edwardian passenger ship, a steamer the same age as the Titanic. Each room in the ship's cabin is filled with ornaments from different eras, furniture, inventions from that era, and it feels like you are in a time machine traveling back to various long-ago eras.
