In the morning, guests will be picked up from their hotels in Brno to begin this tour. We will begin our day by driving into the Moravian Karst region, which is full of some of the most interesting geological features in the world. Over the course of the next 6 hours, we will explore the Punkva Cave system by taking a boat ride down the Punkva River. After the boat trip, we will climb via cable car to the Upper Bridge, where we will be able to gaze deep into the Macocha Abyss. Then we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. On the way back to Brno, we will stop in the market town of Krtiny to see the Pilgrimage Church. When we get back to Brno, the tour will come to an end. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.

    Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic by population and area, it is also the largest Moravian city and the historical capital city of the Margraviate of Moravia.

    Moravian Karst

    The Moravian Karst is a protected, natural cave system located north of Brno in eastern Czech Republic. Visitors can explore fascinating caverns, gorges, and natural pools on biking and hiking trails, as well as by guided boat tours.

    Punkva Caves

    Explore the beauty of the Punkva Caves, one of several protected cavern systems in the Moravian Karst. Home to a 138-meter deep sinkhole known as the Machocha Abyss, the Punkva Caves offers tourists a spectacular view of stunning geological features.

    Macocha Abyss

    Located in the Moravian Karst, a natural cavern system, the Macocha Abyss is a 138 meter deep sinkhole. Also known as the Macocha Gorge, this natural wonder of the world is a popular tourist site for nature-lovers and cave divers.

    Pilgrimage Church

    Pilgrimage Church of St. John of Nepomuk at Zeleni hora is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and religious building near the historical border between Moravia and Bohemia. The building is recognized as an architectural masterpiece of Baroque and Gothic elements.
Please be noted that The Punkevni Cave will be closed in April 2015 due to repairing roads. In these months, the customers will be taken to another two of them - to the most beautiful and largest in the Moravian Karst - Cave Sloup in the morning and after lunch to another, which is called Balcarka is bi-level and the important archaeological site.
  • Schedule: Daily at 9:00am (Nov - Mar); Daily Ex Mon at 9:00am (Apr - Oct); Daily at 1:00pm (May - Sep); Weekends at 1:00pm (Apr and Oct)
  • Hotel pick up is available upon request from hotels in the city center, Please write down your hotel details in "Hotel" area when booking if you need the hotel pick up. Please note pick-up service will be provided 30 minutes in advance at the hotel lobby prior to your departure time.

Additional Note

  • This tour is available in English, German, Russian, Slovak, French, Spanish and Czech. This tour takes place daily, except Mondays, all year at 9 a.m. for two persons minimal. Customers will be picked-up in their hotel in city center by the guide.
  • Cancellation made within 48 hours of service date will be charged in full; More than 48 hours notice is fully refundable.


  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.


  • Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your e-ticket. You must print and bring e-ticket(s) on your trip, as they serve as proof of purchase.

Terms & Condition

  • Changes to Reservations: A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary will be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.

    Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted)
    15 days or more prior to departure - no penalty
    8-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Within 7 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a scheduled trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every effort to maintain normal operations.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.

  • Prices may vary and are subject to availability by season, weekend, and/or holiday.
  • While we will make every effort to maintain a regular operation, we reserve the right to cancel a scheduled trip and issue a full refund to affected customers under special circumstances.
