Guests will be picked up in the lobbies of all major Cancun hotels between 7:00 and 7:45am. We will depart Cancun, making our way to the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza. On the way there, we will stop in a small, modern Mayan Village to use the bathroom and examine the local handicraft and jewelry shops. Around 12:00pm, we will arrive, heading directly to a buffet lunch, during which we will enjoy watching a festive dance show performed by regional natives. Afterward, we will make our way to the archaeological site. Once inside, we will divide into two groups to accommodate both English and Spanish speaking guests. We will embark on a 1.5-hour tour led by a certified guide who will introduce us to the secrets of the Mayans and explain the historical significance of the most important buildings, before allowing us to explore on our own. On the way back, we will stop at an underground grotto, where we can admire its beauty and swim in its crystal-clear waters. We will depart Chichen Itza around 4:30pm, and guests will be dropped off in Cancun around 7:30pm.
  • Chichen Itza, MX

    Chichen Itza, MX
Chichen Itza is the largest of the archaeological cities of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. It is one of Mexico's most visited tourist destinations. It was granted World Heritage Site status in 1988 by UNESCO World Heritage Site and was recently selected as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

    Ball Game Court

The Ball Game Court at Chichen Itza is where the ancient Mayans would play a game that was very popular across early Mesoamerican civilizations. The court here is one of the largest and best-preserved of those that survive.

    El Caracol

    El Caracol
El Caracol, the observatory at Chichen Itza, stands as a testament to the advanced scientific minds of the ancient Mayans, a structure in which they would practice astronomy, a study in which these people were ahead of their time.

    El Castillo

El Castillo, or the Temple of Kukulkan, is the pyramid in the ancient city of Chichen Itza. Unfortunately, visitors are not currently allowed to climb the structure's massive steps, but merely to stand at its base awe-inspiring.
