Today we will head south passing popular beachside suburbs and cross the border into New South Wales for our tour to the Byron Bay. Then we will visit the Tweed Valley, heart of sugar cane country and Byron Bay which is a former whaling station and now a fashionable coastal town. Afterwards we will come to the Cape Byron Headland Reserve. Then we will visit the Cape Byron Lighthouse built in 1901 - the lookout is the most easterly point of the Australian mainland! Then we will also have time to explore Byron Bay township to surf, shop, swim, snorkel or hike (approximately 4.5 hours). Nextly we may have a chance to enjoy a leisurely lunch (own expense), swim at the beach, exercise some retail therapy or just relax and watch the interesting locals!
