Day 1: Guatemala City

Today we will arrive in Guatemala City. We will meet with the tour guide and the rest of the group for a welcome meeting followed by an optional dinner & get-together in one of the local restaurants/bars.

Day 2: Guatemala City - Quirigua (175 km)

After a morning walking tour in Guatemala City, we will head to Quirigua. Then we will enjoy optional dinner & get-together in one of local restaurants/bars.

Day 3: Quirigua - Finca el Paraiso

After a guided visit of Quirigua Ruins, we will go to Castle of San Felipe de Lara. Then we will move to Finca el Paraiso and enjoy its natural hot waterfalls. Tonight we will live in a nearby hotel, enjoy optional dinner & get-together in one of local restaurants/bars.

Day 4: Finca el Paraiso - Flores

After breakfast and morning bath in the waterfalls, we will continue to Flores, a picturesque town on the island on Lago Peten Itza, a base for exploring El Peten area. Then we will check-in, take a walking tour around the town and enjoy the free time in the area.

Day 5: Flores - Tikal - Lanquin (223 km)

After breakfast, we will go to Tikal. In the afternoon, we will continue to Lanquin after optional lunch, which is a pretty village located in the deep valleys between the mountains. Upon arrival, we will take an orientation walk, enjoy free time to explore the area and overnight in Lanquin.

Day 6: Lanquin - Semuc Champey - Uspantan (104 km)

In the morning we will have own free time: continue sleeping, explore nearby Lanquin Caves, swim in Salto del Cabro waterfalls or down the Lanquin River. In the afternoon we will go on to Semuc Champey. Afterwards, we will take one of the most picturesque roads in Guatemala that will bring us to Uspantsn. Then we will go to hotel for an orientation walk, optional dinner, get-together and overnight here.

Day 7: Uspantan - San Jorge La Laguna (88 km)

In the morning we will continue to San Jorge La Laguna, a peaceful Maya village in the hills next to Lake Atitlan. After that we will enjoy the optional lakeshore hike and local villages tour followed by accommodation and dinner in Mayan homestay.

Day 8: San Jorge La Laguna - Pacaya Volcano - Antigua Guatemala (24 km)

After breakfast, we will go to Pacaya Volcano. After an easy hike to the summit, we will continue to Antigua Guatemala for a walking tour. Then we can take an orientation walk with the rest of the group or explore this beautiful city by ourselves. In the evening we will join optional farewell dinner with the rest of the group in one of the local restaurants/bars.

Today we will depart from Antigua Guatemala and return back home. We can take a private taxi/group shuttle directly to the airport with an extra fee.

  • You will receive a confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is processed. Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Less than 15 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount
    Day of departure - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    Cancellation penalties of all extra services booked with us (airport transfers, pre and post night accommodations, single room surcharge and additional activities):
    31 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30 days or less prior to departure - 100% of the price of extra services.
    NOTE: There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties. We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
