Today, we will visit Mount Wellington, which overlooks Hobart and the surrounding Tasmanian landscape. On a clear day, the views from the top are stunning; in the winter, we will feel like children as we frolic in the snow. We will make a 30-minute stop at the summit of Mount Wellington with an escorted short walk by our guide. Known as Kunyanyi to the indigenous people of the island, the mountain features a variety of ecosystems from base to summit. Then we will also make a 15-minute stop at the half way point "The Springs" with an escorted short walk by our guide. Once we have descended from the mountain, we will make a brief stop at the Cascades Female Factory to learn about the female convicts once imprisoned there.
