After pickup in Hobart, we will begin the day by visiting the local Salamanca Market, the city's most colorful and vibrant outdoor market. Guests can also arrange their own transportation to the market and join the group there. After that, we will travel across the Tasman Bridge into the Coal River Valley, an award-winning winemaking region surrounding the historic town of Richmond. We will take a scenic drive through this quaint town and take a short photo stop at the famous Richmond Bridge. Then, we will continue to Tasman National Park, which features wonderful views of striking rock formations like the Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen. After that, we will arrive in Port Arthur, where we will spend about 5 hours soaking up the atmosphere of this World Heritage Site. We will visit the site's interpretation center and learn about the harrowing day-to-day lives of the convicts who were once interned here. We will embark on a guided walking tour of the area to learn all about the restored buildings, including the Penitentiary, the Commandant's House and the church. Next, we will enjoy a cruise around Carnarvon Bay, around the Isle of the Dead and back. Then, we will be able to buy some lunch and enjoy free time at our own pace before returning to Hobart.
