Day 1: Jeju Island

After gathering with the tour guide, we will go on a tour on Jeju Island: Seongsan Ilchulbong UNESCO Heritage, Seopjikoji Natural Place, Sangumburi Crater, Seongeup Folk Village
  • Jeju Island, KOREA

Jeju Island, located off the southern coast of South Korea, is a unique destination popularized by natives and tourists alike. Known as the "Island of the Gods," Jeju Island offers spectacular geographic features like beaches, caves, and lava columns, as well as unusual theme parks, museums, and more.

    Seongsan Ilchulbong

This tuff cone was formed by volcanic eruptions that occurred roughly 5,000 years ago. Just barely connected to the mainland, the crater rises high out of the sea. It is a great place to explore on a sunny day.

    Seopjikoji Natural Place

Seopjikoji is located at the end of the eastern shore of Jeju Island and boasts a fantastic scenery especially in April when yellow canola flowers are in full bloom.

    Sangumburi Crater

Sangumburi Crater differs from the 360 or more parasitic cones of Jeju in that it was not formed when the materials ejected from the eruption stacked. Instead, it is a maar-type parasitic cone that was formed as a crater with a hole in it when many materials were ejected. The inner area is 300,000㎡, while the interior bottom circumference is 756m, and the exterior circumference is 2,070m. Nearly vertical, the crater is approximately 130m tall, making it slightly larger and deeper than Hallasan Mountain.

    Seongeup Folk Village

Seongeup Folk Village is a traditional village on Jeju Island has been preserved as it was in olden days with impressive piles of stones designed to protect roofs from the wind. The buildings have been designated important folk relics because these castles and homes that were built to prevent a Japanese invasion have remained intact the Joseon Dynasty.

Day 2: Jeju Island

Continue touring on Jeju Island: O’sulloc Tea Museum, Yongmeori Coast, Sanbangsan Mountain, Aewol Cafe Street Handam

    O'sulloc Tea Museum

O'sulloc Tea Museum located on Jeju Island opened in 2001 is Korea's first tea museum. In 2013, Osulloc Tea Stone was built next to the museum offering visitors with various tea experience and cultural activity programs.

    Yongmeori Coast

Yongmeori Coast is a volcanic beach made of ash emitted during violent explosions occurring when hot magna coming from underground met the cold seawater. Going down the narrow path to the beach, you can also see a sandstone cliff. Its name, Yongmeori (it literally means a dragon’s head) comes from its resemblance to a dragon appearing ready to plunge deep into the sea.

If the Yongmeori Coast is closed (during the bad weather), Songaksan Mountain will be another route.

    Sanbangsan Mountain

Sanbangsan Mountain rising to a height of 395 meters is a typical dome-shaped, craterless volcano. Its name, Sanbang, originates from a natural stone cave formed in the middle of the mountain. Inside the cave, called Sanbanggulsa Temple, there is a statue of the Buddha. According to a legend, water drops from the cave ceiling are the tears of love shed by the goddess who protects Sanbangsan’s stone walls.

This tour is only available on the middle of March - the beginning of April

    Aewol Cafe Street Handam

Aewol Cafe Street Handam Coastal Trail is a short walking path along the west coast of Jeju. It starts at Handam Village and ends at Gwakji Beach. It’s a scenic route that takes you along the rocky coastline and provides great views out over the sea. It’s long been a popular spot for walkers, but more recently, the coffee shops and restaurants that line the route have attracted the island’s foodies.
