Day 1: Belize City - Community Baboon Sanctuary (36 km)

Today we will meet the tour guide at our hotel near Community Baboon Sanctuary, just 30 minutes from the airport. In the evening we will join a welcome meeting, optional dinner & get-together with the rest of the group in a local restaurant.

Day 2: Community Baboon Sanctuary - Lamanai Ruins - Placencia (167 km)

In the morning, after a black howler monkey tour in nearby Community Baboon Sanctuary, we will check-out and go to visit Lamanai. Afterwards we will continue to Placencia. We will arrive there in the evening and then enjoy optional dinner and overnight here.

Day 3: Placencia (20 km)

Today we will enjoy our free time in Placencia. We could chill on the beach, explore the area by ourselves or join some of the local tours: snorkeling in Silk Cayes and Turtle Alley, cave tubing in the Inland Blue Hole, open-sea fishing and snorkeling, kayaking expedition at Laughing Bird Caye etc. Then we will enjoy an optional dinner, get-together with a group in Placencia.

Day 4: Placencia - Hopkins (60 km)

Today we will leave from Placencia and move to Hopkins. Upon arrival, we will go for an orientation walk around the town and then join the Garifuna Drumming Lesson & Performance. After that we can enjoy our free time: relax on the beach, snorkeling in the nearby palmed Tobacco Caye, take an adventure to a nearby wildlife sanctuary, or rent a bike and explore the area. In the evening, we could also join an optional dinner & get-together with a group.

    Hopkins is a Garifuna village on the coast of the Stann Creek District in Belize. It is considered by some Belizeans to be the cultural center of the Garifuna population in Belize.

    Tobacco Caye is a tiny island off the coast of Belize, popular with travelers. Hammocks, novels, group meals and a healthy dose of snorkeling are likely to fill your day.

Day 5: Hopkins - St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park - San Ignacio (107 km)

After checkout from our hotel, we will join a Spicy Sauce Factory Tour in Dangriga before arriving at St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park. There we will find St. Herman's Cave and the Blue Hole. In the afternoon we will continue to San Ignacio. We will arrive in the evening and overnight here.

    Dangriga is the capital of Belize's Stann Creek District. Commonly known as the "culture capital of Belize" due to its influence on punta music and other forms of Garifuna culture, Dangriga is the largest settlement in southern Belize.
  • St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park, Belize

    St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park is a national park located just off the Hummingbird Highway in Cayo District of Belize, near Belmopan. It is over 500 acres (2 km²) in area, and contains two cave systems (St. Hermans and Crystal), various natural trails, and the cool jungle pool from which the park gets its name.

Day 6: San Ignacio - Xunantunich - Belize City (120 km)

In the morning, we will follow our tour guide for a Market Food Tour & Tortilla-Making Lesson in San Ignacio, then we will go to visit Xunantunich ruins. After that, we will leave for Belize City in the late afternoon and then spend night here.

    San Ignacio is a quaint town located west of Belize City. With plenty of accommodations catered to adventurers, it's a great place for exploring Maya ruins as well as cave systems in the Western part of the country.
  • Xunantunich, Belize

    Xunantunich is an Ancient Maya archaeological site in western Belize, about 70 miles (110 km) west of Belize City, in the Cayo District.

Day 7: Belize City - Caye Caulker (33 km)

In the morning we will join a walking tour to explore Belize City. In the afternoon we will take a water taxi to Caye Caulke famous for its car-free policy, seafood as well as snorkeling and boating along the nearby Belize Barrier Reef. Then we will spend the night in Caye Caulker.

Day 8: Caye Caulker (10 km)

After a morning bike tour, we will enjoy the day on the beach or go to nearby Hol Chan Marine Reserve and the Belize Barrier Reef to join some of sailing and snorkeling tours. In the evening, we will join an optional farewell dinner with a group at a popular local restaurant.

  • Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Belize

    Hol Chan Marine Reserve is a marine reserve close to Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker, off the coast of Belize. It covers approximately 18 km² (4,448 acres) of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove forest. Hol Chan is Mayan for "little channel".

Day 9: Caye Caulker

Today we will end our tour in Caye Caulker. From here we could reach the airport in about 1.5 hours (1 hour by water taxi to Belize City and additional 30 min by taxi). Please refer to "Departure & Return" for more detailed information.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    60 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30-59 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    15-29 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Less than 15 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount
    Day of departure - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    Cancellation penalties of all extra services booked with us (airport transfers, pre and post night accommodations, single room surcharge and additional activities):
    31 days or more prior to departure - No cancellation penalty.
    30 days or less prior to departure - 100% of the price of extra services.
    NOTE: There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties. We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
