Tour guide Kris does not speak English well. It is difficult for English speakers to understand his accent and he keeps making mistakes while conducting the tour. He would often erroneously say left instead of right and vice versa. He would also make mistakes in translating the meet up time saying eleven thirty am instead of one thirty pm. Seats in the bus have very little legroom but otherwise the bus is ok. Accommodation were good 3 and 4 star hotels but we could not enjoy the stay because we always arrived at the hotels around 8pm and needed to leave at 7am the next day. Itinerary could be improved to allow for proper rest time in the hotels and have more activities for days 4 and 5. Day 4 was spent mostly on the bus and only going to Harvard University in the afternoon. Day 5 has less than a half day for the Boston tour. We only had 1hour for Boston cruise and 1hour for Quincy Market which we felt was not enough.
We (myself, wife and son) joined this tour during 13 to 17 May 2109 - it is VALUE FOR MONEY TOUR
One has to remember that this is kind of NO FRILLs / BUDGET TOUR and if one carries Coffee Maker, Thermas and ready to cook and eat Eatables - then one can enjoy tour thoroughly.
"In-depth tour inside the campus of Ivy League's Harvard and MIT " is mentioned in the advertisement. But actually we were not taken inside MIT at all and shown a lane from the moving bus, saying that entry is banned inside MIT. This was unfortunate, rest of the trip was as promised.
The tour was very well planned and executed. The places in the tour are worth watching. Guide June Li was excellent for organizing every part of the tour meticulously.
Pros:
Value for money.
Excellent itinerary, well planned
Covers a LOT of items in short time which is not possible personally
Great hotels.
Perfect time management.
Clear guidelines
Cons:
Difficult for Indians since focus is on Chinese language and food. Even if there are nearby options available, the guide will not tell you about them because those hotels dont give them commissions.
The guide does put in a lot of effort but his English is tough to grasp.
Too much focus on paid items.
Washington cruise is great but Whitehouse is like tokenism- you see better on TV.
Too hectic for elders- the guide forces you to walk so fast that you risk falling
Buses are old and not so comfortable
