This tour combines two of the most popular excursions in the Salzburg region. After guests have been picked up from the specified departure location in the city, we will embark on the tour. The first leg of our journey will consist of a visit to one of Salzburg's famous Salt Mines. On our way out of Salzburg, we will pass by the Hellbrunn Palace. Once we arrive at the mine, we will ride the miner's train deep in to the heart of a mountain, zip down one of the original miner's slides, and ride a raft across a subterranean lake, all the while learning interesting facts about the history of salt mining and the various transportation methods used to get salt out of the mine. The second portion of our day will have us travel into the expansive Salzkammergut region, which is filled with beautiful, picturesque landscapes of mountains and lakes. Stopping briefly in St. Gilgen, the birthplace of Mozart's mother, we will come to the village of St. Wolfgang, passing Lake Krottensee, Huttenstein Castle, and the shores of Lake Mondsee. From the months of May to October, we will also be able to enjoy a boat ride across Lake Wolfgang. Afterwards, we will return to Salzburg, where the tour will come to an end. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
