  • Rome, ITALY

    Rome, ITALY
The history of this amazing city spans more than two and a half thousand years. It is one of the most historic places on the planet Earth, and it's artistic and cultural contributions have colored global development.

    Roman Ghetto

Established in 1555, this neighborhood in the Rione Sant'Angelo was home to the city's Jewish population from the time of its inception to the late 19th century. It was the last active ghetto in Europe.

    Trastevere

This area is the 13th rione of Rome. It features narrow, cobblestone streets lined with many Medieval-era buildings. It lies on the West Bank of the Tiber River, south of Vatican City.

    Largo di Torre Argentina

This square in Rome, in the Campus Martius, is home to the ruins of four ancient temples and the Theater of Pompey. In the 18th century, the Teatro Argentina, an opera house, was opened.

    Duration: Approx. 6 Hours

    Curia Julia

This building was the third senate building in ancient Rome. Julius Caesar had commissioned its construction, but was murdered by a group of senators before he could see its completion.

    Tiber Island

As its name suggests, this island is in the middle of the Tiber River in Rome. It is very long and narrow. The island is now home to a hospital, but in antiquity held a temple.

    Campo de' Fiori

The name of this square in Rome means "field of flowers" in English. The statue in the center depicts the Renaissance philosopher Giordano Bruno, who was burnt alive here for heresy against the Church.
