Begin your morning in the heart of Marrakechwith a guided tour through some of the city's most important historic landmarks.
Start at the Bahia Palace,a 19th-century residence known for its peaceful gardens, colorful tilework, and carved wooden ceilings, a fine example of Moroccan craftsmanship. It was expanded to house the Royal harem, serving as both a private home and a symbol of political power.
Continue into the Mellah, once the vibrant Jewish quarter, now a maze of quiet alleyways, spice shops, and traditional balconies.
From there, enjoy a walk past several key sites: the Royal Palace(still an official residence of the Moroccan king) and the imposing 12th-century Bab Agnaou gate, a striking example of Almohad architecture.
Next, approach the Koutoubia Mosque, whose minaret dominates the skyline and served as the model for the Giralda tower in Seville.
Cross the bustling Jemaa el Fna, where storytellers, spice vendors, and local artisans fill the square with timeless energy.
The tour ends with a visit to the 16th-century Ben Youssef Madrasa, once one of the largest Islamic theological colleges. Explore its symmetrical courtyards and learn how young students once lived and studied.
Not only are they Morocco's original inhabitants, but possibly as ancient as the world itself, the Berber people live their lives relatively unchanged and largely overlooked by the rest of the globe. The trek up the famed Berber Trail heads directly into this remote and beautiful world, situated high in Morocco's Atlas Mountains.
The adventure begins in four-wheel drive, bouncing along rough and rugged roads from Marrakech directly up and into the Atlas range. The wild, otherworldly beauty of the region lends a mystical air to the ascent as you pass through valleys and climb massive mountains. Quaint villages, ancient structures and, most notably, smiling faces dot the landscape, giving the sense of the history and close-knit culture that defines this place. Depending on the season, you may encounter lush vegetation and slopes covered with sheep, or impressive snow-covered peaks.
Although the journey along the historic Berber Trail and its tribal villages and people are enough to leave you full of wonder, your tour of the grain mills at Tahanaout will underscore your sense of the simple and beautiful way the Berbers live their daily lives. You'll leave the Berber Trail with your own moment in history and a true understanding of another way of life.

One of the most impressive sights in Marrakech, the Koutoubia is one of the largest, most beautiful mosques in the Western Muslim world. Its 225-foot-tall minaret is a Hispano-Moresque masterpiece that is very similar to the Giralda of Seville. El Bahia Palace was built in the late 19th century in a two-acre garden. It is a haphazard arrangement of secret luxury apartments opening to inner courtyards.
For seven years around a thousand craftsmen from the Fez region worked on the palace. The only sections open to the public are the apartments of the sultan's favorite concubine, the council chamber (with tiled walls and illuminated cedarwood ceiling) and the great central courtyard (paved with marble and decorated with zelliges and fountains).
The Saadian Tombs with their delicate decorations and pure architectural lines are considered by many to be a beautiful feat of architecture. They were first built to house the tombs of the Saadian Sultan, Ahmed el Mansour. In 1591 the first "koubba" (dome on the top of a mosque) of this burial ground was built south of the Casbah.
At the base of the Atlas Mountains lie the Menara Gardens. Covering an area of 250 acres, they are full of olive trees surrounding a large central lake that dates back from the 12th century and is fed by a network of irrigation channels. At the water's edge is a small Saadian pavilion. With the snow-covered peaks behind it, this is a breathtaking sight in the evening when it catches the golden rays of the setting sun.

It is home to a traditional Portuguese harbor with fine examples of Moorish and Portuguese art. Famous for its fine woodwork, Essaouira is also home to the silver souk (commercial quarter), art galleries, and islands.

Moulay El-Hassan Square
Grand Mosque
Essaouira was discovered by the Phoenicians who settled there. Afterward, it was conquered by Rome and Portugal. By the end of the 15th century, the Portuguese had built the commercial and military port of Mogador (Essaouira today). This port is built at the foot of the city's ramparts. In 1769, the Navy built o door to connect the loading docks of the port to the city. From this door, a small bridge leads to Skala Port and the ramparts that cut the old city into several districts. In the medina, see Moulay El-Hassan Square, the Grand Mosque, and Siaghine Alley. From the terrace of the north Bastion, you can access the marquetry, where Morocco's best marketers work on cedar.
As you leave the confines of Skala, you will follow Derb Laalouj Street to the Museum Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah. Here musical instruments, local Andalusian songs, Berber Imazighen documents, weapons, costumes, carpets, and more are displayed in the former residence of the Pasha. Located in the north of the city is the "Mellah". This Jewish Quarter is crossed by the traditional Rue Mohammed Zerktouni. It is bordered by a market that extends to Bab Doukkala.
During your stay, you will also be able to enjoy beautiful beaches full of sun year-round!
