Our tour takes you there on a speedboat, enjoying stunning views on the way. Then, you enjoy a spectacular beach day full of comfort and fun. Your excursion to Cayo Arena offers a wonderful tour departing from Puerto Plata, in comfortable air-conditioned buses and with experienced drivers, accompanied by professional guides. Head to the north of the Dominican Republic and get ready for a journey full of splendid landscapes and green mountains to Punta Rusia, a picturesque fishing village on the coast of Puerto Plata.
Once you reach Punta Rusia, in La Isabela Bay, you will board a boat that will take you to Cayo Arena. In our way, we will appreciate the flora and fauna of the waterway and sail across a national park, navigating through the mangroves, with a variety of beautiful natural colours. If we are lucky, we will get to see an adorable mammal: the manatee, also known as a sea cow!
After 45 minutes enjoying this unforgettable ride, we arrive at Cayo Arena, where we have free time to snorkeland observe many species of fish of all colors, take pictures, take a refreshing swim in crystal clear water, chat with fishermen who come to Island or relax in fine sand before a delicious lunch. Once you finish snorkelling, the speedboat will take you around the mangrove trees and to the restaurant. The food at the restaurant is a typical Dominican buffet, delicious and hot.

A visit to Monkey Land. In the tropical jungle, listen to the sounds of nature while keeping an eye out for the cute little squirrel monkeys that abound in this natural environment. Trained staff give you a plate of fruit that you can offer to the monkeys. These cheeky, friendly creatures love shiny objects -- hang on to your belongings or they will relieve you of loose items for later play. This is an awesome opportunity to get up close with these lovable, fun little monkeys.
At the end of the tour, will have adequate time to buy the memories of this unique and special adventure. Cayo Arena, its real name is Cayo Paraiso and is a coral island located northwest of the Dominican Republic,off the coast of Puerto Plata in Punta Rusia. Stunningly beautiful, the island fell into a beautiful landscape that people think it's like being in a dream. Imagine sunbathing on a small island in the sea surrounded by white sands and clear waters where you can see the bottom with incredible sharpness, their colors ranging from Turquoise to Acqua Verde literally is this island called Cayo Arena.
This sandbar is frequently visited by hundreds of tourists, but on your VIP day it will only be you as private guests. Our excursion to Cayo Arena offers a wonderful tour departing from Puerto Plata, in comfortable air-conditioned buses and experienced drivers, accompanied by professional guides; take the road north of the Dominican Republic and the trip is full of beautiful landscapes and green mountains to Punta Rusia, a picturesque fishing village on the coast of Puerto Plata.
From there we board a beautiful catamaranand our first stop is at a natural swimming pool right in the ocean. Jump off or step down into the beautiful waters and enjoy a free floating bar and a glass of champagne! Back on board canapes are offered to munch away as you enjoy the sail. Our next stop is to the VIP restaurant where lunch is provided including fresh fish on the grill, lobster, exotic salads and different side dishes. After our delicious lunch we will proceed to the island of Cayo Arena, a gazillion tropical fish await you as you can snorkel through the crystal clear warm waters and see this abundance of tropical fish life. Refreshments are available on your private island and if snorkelling is not your thing, then relax, chill out and sunbathe on the powder white sugar fine sand and let the turquoise waters tickle your toes.
After the island we get the awesome chance to motor past all the weird and wonderful mangrove swamps on board the catamaran and remember to keep your eye out as this is a national park and the breeding habitat of manatees, the quiet and gentle sea cows of the ocean.
First the Waterfalls at Damajagua. Encounter the awesome splendour of the waterfalls, the natural beauty, cooling mountain waters are a test of your energy and spirit. The city of Puerto Plata is lined by an oceanfront boulevard (Malecon)known for its open-air restaurants, shops, and nightlife. This is a scenic area to explore and enjoy Dominican culture. Right at the very end of the seafront you will see the massive stone walls of The Fortress of San Felipe, the oldest military fortification in the Americas. We will enter the fort and discovery a time of pirates, cannons, battles and conquistadors of long ago!
Next stop is to the real heart of Puerto Plata as we stroll around the famous Central park.This is surrounded by original Victorian gingerbread houses, museums and the picturesque Cathedral Iglesia San Felipe.In the center stands the stunning Victorian Bandstand. Just off Central park the wonderful Amber Musuem is located. Located on the second floor of a Victorian mansion, the Amber Museum is perhaps one of Puerto Plata's best known tourist attractions and features collections of fossilized resin (Amber), some of which contain remarkably preserved specimens dating back thousands of years.
We also make a stop at Puerto Plata's answer to Willy Wonka as we visit the Del Oro chocolate factory! Smell, taste, eat and drink the wonderful hand crafted chocolate made from organic cocoa plants cultivated and grown right here on the north coast of the Dominican Republic!
We also visit the Cable Car (teleferico) located on the top of Mount Isabel (2555 feet or 855 meters above sea), the cable car offers you the most beautiful panoramic ocean views and surrounding areas of Puerto Plata. It is one of the most picturesque and impressive views that you will possibly see here during your stay. On top of the mountain you will find botanical gardens, a statue of Christ (similar to the one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), in addition, of course, to the breathtaking views of Puerto Plata and the surrounding ocean.
