Full description
Start the day walking around some of the most emblematic buildings in Mexico City historic centre, including the largest plaza in Latin America, the Zocalo, the National Palace and the cathedral. We then visit the site of the Great Temple of the Aztecs, and continue on to Madero Street whilst admiring the fine buildings before reaching the magnificent Palace of Fine Arts. Hop aboard our bus which will whisk you straight to the Valley of Mexico to the Teotihuacan Pyramids. Wander around this pre-Colombian site and be amazed by architecturally remarkable Mesoamerican pyramids, the Avenue of the Dead, the citadel plaza, Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the Pyramid of the Sun. We then have time for lunch and you can even taste Pulque, a traditional alcoholic drink from Central Mexico, and the world popular tequila.
Return to Mexico City and visit the Basilica of Our Lady Guadalupe in the North of the city. You will witness how the Basilica is entirely centred on Our Lady of Guadalupe due to its circular shape. Go through one of the seven front doors where several million people make the pilgrimage to each year.
