Day 1: Explore Zagreb
Welcome to Zagreb, Croatia’s lively capital! Known for its leafy parks, fascinating museums, and café culture, the city is a delightful mix of history and modern life.
Built on the medieval hills of Kaptol and Gradec, Zagreb today showcases diverse architecture and a vibrant culinary scene.
Enjoy a guided walking tour with a licensed local expert who will introduce you to the city’s highlights and insider spots for dining, shopping, and relaxing like a local. Afterwards, we will drop you off at the hotel.
Meeting point: Ban Jelačić Square (under the statue)
Day 2: Zagorje Region & Trakošćan Castle
Meet your guide at 9am in your hotel lobby for a scenic day trip to the Zagorje region.
Your first stop is the Krapina Neanderthal Museum, a modern and award-winning museum that brings human prehistory to life. Through interactive exhibits, discover the fascinating story of Neanderthals, whose remains were found nearby.
Continue to Trakošćan Castle, one of Europe’s most picturesque castles. Perched above a serene lake and surrounded by forest, this romantic gem offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of Croatian nobility. Stroll its beautiful grounds and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Return to Zagreb in the afternoon – enjoy free time at your leisure. We will drop you off at the hotel.
Day 3 – Marija Bistrica & Cultural Heritage
At 9am, meet your guide again in your hotel lobby for a cultural and spiritual excursion.
Visit Marija Bistrica, one of Croatia’s most important pilgrimage destinations since the 17th century. Explore the Church of St. Mary of Bistrica and see the revered statue of the Virgin Mary, believed to be miraculous.
Walk along the Stations of the Cross and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this historic site.
You’ll also learn about traditional crafts unique to the region, including:
- Wooden toys
- Gingerbread (licitar) souvenirs
Both are proudly listed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
Return to Zagreb and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace.
