On this tour you will learn about the role and function of MP´s, Lords and key officials in Parliament. You will also discover how and why the Elizabeth Tower, the Great Clock and the Great Bell, Big Ben, were built.
We start at our meeting point, the entrance to Westminster Abbey, at 9.15am for a short tour of the Abbey with our knowledgeable local guide, then at 11.30am we move on to the Houses of Parliament, where the guide will give an explanation in front of the monument.
The magnificent façade of the building offers a picturesque view of the golden spires and statues of kings reflected in the river. The palace is flanked by the Victoria Tower. Learn about the history of the Elizabeth Tower, from the first medieval clock tower in the old Palace of Westminster to the design and construction of the current Elizabeth Tower.
Big Ben has become one of London's most iconic images and a major symbol of the city, and the Palace of Westminster has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
