Ride the Shinkansen—Japan’s iconic bullet train—to Kyoto and immerse yourself in the ancient capital’s 1,200 years of rich cultural history.
This tour is ideal for travelers who are short on time but still want to experience the essence of Kyoto in a convenient and efficient way.
Your day includes round-trip Shinkansen transportation, a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter, and a delicious lunch, making it a comfortable and seamless experience from start to finish.
The tour begins at the Tourist Information Center Tokyo, located near Tokyo Station. At the end of the trip, you can choose to disembark at Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, or Shin-Yokohama Station—whichever is most convenient for your journey.

Itinerary
Point of Interest 1. Tokyo Station
Proceed to Tokyo Station and take the Tokaido Shinkansen (standard class, reserved seats) to Kyoto. Guides and other staff do not ride on the Shinkansen with tour participants.
Point of Interest 2. Kyoto Station
An English-speaking staff will be waiting for you on the platform at Kyoto Station and escort you to the lunch venue, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free arrival experience.
Point of Interest 3. Lunch
Lunch will be updated to a vegetarian-friendly Western-style set menu.
Point of Interest 4. JTB Sunrise Tours Desk Kyoto
You may meet up with fellow travelers from other tours. Once everyone has gathered, you will board the tour bus together, marking the beginning of your tour.
Point of Interest 5. Fushimi Inari Taisha
Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of some 40,000 inari-jinja shrines located all over Japan. The bright red Senbon Torii gates are a must-see attraction.
Point of Interest 6. Sanjusangen-do Temple
Visit the world's longest wooden structure, housing 1,001 life-size statues of Buddhist Kannon deities dating back to the 13th century.
Point of Interest 7. Kiyomizudera Temple
The view of Kyoto from the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera is superb. The historic shopping lane that leads to the temple adds to a wonderful experience.
Point of Interest 8. Kyoto Station
Travel by Shinkansen (bullet train) from Kyoto to Shin-Yokohama, Shinagawa, or Tokyo Station, using reserved seats. No tour guide will accompany you on this journey.
Point of Interest 9. Tokyo Station
You can choose to drop-off at Shin-Yokohama Station, Shinagawa Station, or Tokyo Station.
Important information
- Train times may change due to timetable alterations or other reasons.
- The order of activities and arrival times may differ depending on road conditions and congestion at destinations.
- Participants will walk from the parking lot to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine (about 15 min one-way).
- Seats may not be designated.
- Children up to 3 years old may join free of charge, but will not be provided with bus and Shinkansen seats or lunch. If seats or lunch is required, please make a booking under the child rate.
- Please note that requests for allergy-friendly meals, gluten-free meals, etc. or requests to remove or change ingredients due to personal preferences are not accepted.
-Vegetarian-friendly Western-style set menu.
-It will not be possible to bring large luggage whose total height, width, and length exceeds 160 cm onto Shinkansen. If bringing large luggage, please make use of a delivery service on your own.
