As with all museums, particular galleries of the Vatican museums can sometimes be closed without prior notice and pieces removed for restoration or loan. In the event of a gallery being closed, your guide will take you to another section of the museum instead.

- Valid photo ID required. Shoulders and knees must be covered, no low cut or sleeveless tops and no shorts are permitted. This applies to both men and women. Everyone must pass through the security check when entering the building. This is a walking tour, guests should be able to walk at a moderate pace without difficulty. We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs or mobility impairments on our tours. We are also unable to accommodate pushchairs or strollers on our Tours. The Vatican only permits very small bags, and specifically prohibits large bags, tripods, umbrellas, and backpacks. Any such items must be checked into the free luggage storage area which may result Non-flash photography is permitted throughout the tour, except in the Sistine Chapel where talking and photography are prohibited.
