Before becoming a museum in 1793, the Louvre served as one of the principal royal residences of French kings for centuries. Nestled in the heart of Paris, the Louvre spans an impressive 73,000 square meters and houses the world’s largest art collection. Its treasures range from ancient civilizations dating back over 7,000 years to masterpieces from the 19th century. The museum is organized into eight distinct departments: Egyptian Antiquities, Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities, Near Eastern Antiquities, Islamic Art, Paintings, Sculptures, Decorative Arts, and Graphic Arts.

Your experience begins at the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, where your host will meet you and escort you through a reserved entrance to the iconic Mona Lisa. Once there, take a moment to admire this world-renowned portrait, painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1506, and often regarded as the most celebrated depiction of a woman in art history. Afterward, you’ll have the freedom to appreciate the Louvre Museum at your leisure and at the least busy hour .

Important information

This is not a guided visit but reserved entrance activity with a host who takes you to Mona Lisa painting.

Young people under 18, and under 26 if resident in the European Economic Area, are invited to select the children's rate in order to benefit from free admission to the Musée du Louvre.

Proof of identity will be required for under-18s and 18- to 25-year-olds residing in a European Economic Area country.

The Louvre Museum closes at 6 pm ( except on Friday).

Elevators are not available during the tour.

The reserved access is subject to the Louvre museum procedures: The Vigipirate plan, the security control or an unforeseen crowd can slow down the entrance.

Exhibitions are not included in our tours.
