Merry Ploughboy Irish Pub Dinner and Show - Dublin

The Merry Ploughboy is the only pub in Ireland owned and managed by musicians. Playing together since 1989, the Merry Ploughboys are one of the longest performing live bands in Ireland.

The two hour Irish music & Irish dance show, which takes place every night at the pub, has been awarded the "Best Dinner/ Entertainment Event in Ireland"and also the winner of the “Best Traditional Show in Ireland”- 2010 to 2019 inclusive and the pub is the current "Music Pub of the Year" in Ireland.

Starters

・Goat's Cheese - Bluebell Falls honey, thyme & garlic goats cheese, pickled baby beets, dressed organic mesculan, sourdough croute ( All our dressings are home-made)

・Homemade Seafood Chowder - A delicate blend of shellfish and seafood bound in a rich creamy velouté finished with fresh herbs and served with traditional Irish brown bread

・Root Vegetable Soup - Locally grown root vegetables lightly roasted and blended with a homemade vegetable stock, served with traditional Irish brown bread

Mains

・Tender Irish Angus Beef braised in Guinness and served with a root vegetable & rosemary jus

・Fillet of Irish Sea Trout (served off the bone) topped with a dill and lemon crust, with poached asparagus and a white wine & lemon butter sauce

・Supreme of free range Limerick chicken served with an Irish herb potato cake, sauce Florentine, cherry tomato

・Lamb Shank - tender shank of Wicklow lamb, slow cooked in a rich lamb stock, with a red wine and rosemary jus

Vegetarian/Vegan Main

・Roast sweet potato and chickpea curry in a light coconut and red chilli sauce topped with toasted almonds, served with basmati rice

Dessert

・Bramley apple pie served with a crème anglaise.
