Perugia: History, Charm and Chocolate
Your first stop is Perugia, the vibrant capital of Umbria. Enjoy free time to explore its must see spots—Piazza IV Novembre, the iconic Fontana Maggiore, the majestic Cathedral, and the fascinating underground fortress of Rocca Paolina. Wander through atmospheric medieval streets and soak in the local charm.
Perugia is also world famous for chocolate and hosts Eurochocolate, Europe’s biggest chocolate festival. You can choose to elevate your visit with an optional stop at the Chocolate Museum for an exclusive tasting experience.
Assisi: Spirituality and Timeless Beauty
Continue to Assisi, birthplace of Saints Francis and Clare. Once known as the “Hill of Hell,” the site was renamed the “Hill of Paradise” after construction began on the Basilica of Saint Francis.
A knowledgeable local guide will lead you through the town’s winding streets, culminating in a visit to the stunning Basilica of Saint Francis, home to masterpieces by Giotto, Cimabue, Simone Martini, and Pietro Lorenzetti.
