You’ll also have the chance to visit the turtle conservation project and go for a swim at the idyllic Praia de Guarajuba, renowned throughout the region for its warm waters ad tidal pools.

After being picked up from your hotel t’s time to sit back and enjoy the view on the scenic 70km drive to Praia do Forte. This fishing village cum upmarket resort has something for everyone. You’ll find 12km of beautiful beaches and the warm waters and tidal pools are ideal for snorkelling and simply teeming with fish. Or if you’re looking for something more active, you can try mountain-biking, horse-riding, surfing and para-gliding. The town is well-stocked with shops and boutiques and it’s worth snapping up some of the local handicrafts.

Then after lunch in a traditional restaurant, if you wish you can also visit the nearby Tamar Project, a national sea-turtle conservation programme (admission not included). We’ll also stop at dreamy Praia de Guarajuba beach and Aibaté lagoon for a memorable swim before catching the bus for the relaxing drive back to Salvador de Bahia. A great day out for all the family!
